Had my 16’ Scatpack stolen last year in February 2023, finally recovered last month. The thief was still driving it around my area like a dumbass and got pulled over in it. Would have never thought it was mine tho because it was wrapped a different color and vin swapped. Glad to have my baby back after a whole year smh.
I wouldn't want it back. If mine was stolen, I'd actually hope it won't get recovered and I'll just get my insurance payout. Fortunately, my car is paid off and I have comprehensive on it. They abuse these cars when stolen. I've heard some get over 3k miles on it in less than 2-3 weeks.

Yeah - It was a bitch installing a key type fuel shutoff in the floor of my old SS396 convertible - but short of a wrecker or rollback it wasn't going anywhere. Cheap insurance.
I dont know much abt that but im guessing the shutoff fuel system (and forgive me if i sound so obv😅) basically shuts off like a kill switch unless you have the keys?
A simple battery disconct switch installed in the battery box will help. And installing a spot trace tracker under the carpet helps double up the gps system

Most people just don’t get the Dodge update. They’re stealing these cars by creating new keys. The Dodge security update prevents new keys from being made.

Owning these cars you have to take a lot of precautions, I have two kill switches and I have three trackers in my car steering wheel lock wheel lock. And it’s always in the garage when not in use ..unfortunately you can’t leave these vehicles out nowhere

You couldn’t build anything that has the power, amenities, reliability and comfort level of my Hellcat for half the $. Maybe power but not the complete car.
Take these tips and tricks as you may for theft deterrent. Theft prevention is impossible. 1. Install dummy OBD II connector, tuck real one up out of sight as far as possible. 2. Install a remote controlled battery kill switch. I modded mine with a 20 amp bypass wire to keep radio and computer memory from erasing when battery is disconnected. 3. Use a car cover, thieves are opportunistic, if they don't see it they most likely won't steal it 4. Use a steering wheel lock bar. Yeah don't laugh it's only a deterrent, it just adds more work for lazy thieves, if it's something they don't want to deal with they will move on to an easier vehicle 5. Keep your fobs in a RF blocking case to deter fob replicating 6. Park with your front wheels turned all the way left or right to deter rear scissor lifts or flat beds tows 7. Remove all paperwork from your vehicle, identity theft on top of vehicle theft just compounds your troubles 8. Cover your VIN # on the dash so it is not visible through the windsheild

I’ve rented/driven a 300 with V8 and V8 Challenger fast cars for sure. But I liked the handling of the SS Camero much better. In the end I just want my 1968 Firebird “Formula” Firebird back you can’t have more fun than that. Oh while I’m at It can I turn back the clock put my 73 scout II or 57 Baja bug in the driveway next to it. Put the “club” on the steering wheel and “brace” the pedals add a “kill switch” inside dash that only you know about. That is how I protected my 68 from theft in LA. Old tricks are the best tricks. Oh and buy a classic and fix it up. You’ll get a lot more smiles waves and thumbs ups. Only draw back is offers from strangers to buy your car everywhere you go.

I mean technically Dodge just has to provide you with a car that works as intended. Runs on gas moves from point A to point B. You as the owner should be in charge of extra security. Hopefully they are somehow making the cars more secure. A class action lawsuit might change things up. Hopefully Dodge has their customers in mind you would like to think.

Just put several gps trackers in your vehicle with self contain batteries. You might not find it before its stripped but you might catch them in the act. This is why i pay gap insurance. I might not get my cars back but I'll get paid for them .

The garage door can be opened with a clothes hanger and a wedge in 30 seconds max so it offers zero protection.
