Honestly, when Mr Freeze carries the little snow globe, that's when my heart really aches, I guess its cause when a loved one dies (or close to death), in real life, we don't really get to freeze them and hold on to them, we may have a photo or an item to remind us. So when he talks to the little snow globe, that's when I really wanna cry😭❄️
To be surrounded by the thing that you hate in order to survive, to use all that hatred in a cold vengeance in order to ease your suffering and to honor the memory of the only person you loved. Then to learn that she somehow survived and discover a new force in life: hope. For it all to be shattered again... I think the reason why I love Mr Freeze so much is that for his beloved he was ready to sacrifice his beliefs and integrity, to destroy himself completely. And all he ever wanted was to love and to feel the warmth of his loved one.
Super duper extremely late reply, but recently Paul Dini's been writing a comic " continuation" of BTAS where the hits just keep coming for Victor Fries. His wife had bern healed and he was at peace.....but her body rejected the cure/transplant and he could only watch as she died. He went insane with grief, holding her dead body in his arms, talking to her as if she's alive. I wouldn't put it past him to kidnap a woman that looked like Nora and to be convinced she IS his wife.

There's a reason this story is considered one of the best ever. If this was made into a movie with real passion id bring people to tears. What a man will do for his wife
All the pain Victor went through, all for the love that kept him going. Only for it all to be thrown away from the same incident that left him in that cold prison.
The ending looked like an hommage to Edward Scissorhands. Two people separated by fate, the woman dancing under snow, two men being or making the snow (Edward sculpting ice, Fries in the original intended scene dropping a tear that freezes instantly)
You don’t feel bad for Man- Bat? The dude transformed into a hideous creature that his wife wouldn’t even love. Or Killer Croc? A abused outcast who was bullied and pushed to the edge. Or what about Penguin , who was bullied for his deformities. Bane was forced in a prison as a child and only survived by becoming Bane. Or Two Face and Clayface, they were driven insane about how people viewed them. Ivy is just protecting her plants, Edward was abused by his father in the newer comics, Joker gave up on happiness and utilized insanity, Harley is just another causality in Jokers cry for help, even Catwoman has Kleptomania that causes her need to steal. Everyone of Batman’s Rogues are abused and driven to a point of no return, so I feel bad for all of them.
Notice he’s one of the few who doesn’t appear in villain lineups like the “Trial” episode. He has no greater criminal aspirations - just to save his wife.

It's a love you can never attain. Like the one past between a baby and their mother. Thus, you are frozen in your limbo of anguish.
Me too, and it’s a gesture like this that makes him so relatable
To be surrounded by the thing that you hate in order to survive, to use all that hatred in a cold vengeance in order to ease your suffering and to honor the memory of the only person you loved.

Out of all the villains of Batman, Freeze probably has the most tragic story.
Depending on your choice of backstory, I would argue that Penguin's is worse.
Honestly, how many times was he abandoned by the one's he loved?
On that note, I love this quote from him the most:
Penguin:...It's true what they say...Society IS to blame....HIGH society....

Clay Face too

I feel empathy for a majority of Batman's foes, but few made me sympathize with them, Mr. Freeze taking the top spot on that short list
