As much as I love the 3-d Clone Wars show, Grievous was severely nerfed. They gave his role as Jedi killer to Savage and his role as tactician to Trench and left him as a saturday-morning cartoon style villain. Mind you, the 2003 version was rather over the top, but at least he was intimidating.
And of course, he had a kick-ass theme.

I like the 2008 show much better, but they could have made grievous a little more intimidating. I had no problem with him being taken down by a whole army of gungans, especially after underestimating them, but he needed a few more victories.
Good story always needs a good villain. And DAMN was he good in 2003 CW
Nicholas and to make others retreat not have him run away all the time the whole point of his robot body is to entice fear and crush the Jedi spirits especially when he pull out the extra arms so it would be nice to show people scared of him

Honestly General Grevious and the Droid Army should be terrifying enemies, but they got turned into comedic jokes.
Totally agree. An army of unfeeling skeletal metallic creatures led by an enraged merciless half-machine with a mind of a living man? Give me more of that stuff in films, not the "Believe in urself an u be all jedi" bullshit they are producing.

That was the most badass thing Grievous EVER did. The shot of the speed at which the elevator was moving was shown before Grievous got back up, and it was fuckin fast as hell! Grievous managed to get out of the rubble, open the elevator doors, RUN FASTER THAN THE ELEVATOR to catch up with it then slow down to the pace of the elevator to scare the fuck out of everyone in there. Look up the scene and see for yourself, it's fucking nuts!

I liked the 2003 Grievous's character, but I think the Episode 3 voice was better. But that was ALL the Episode 3 Grievous had in my opinion.

He didn't just crush Shaggy, he made him literally disappear as he crushed him. If you actually watch the scene, the moment Grievous appears, there's no body of the former padawan. That's terrifying.

Actually in the 2003 TV Series (debut episode of Grievous) a Jedi Padawan tried the second option. It did not end well for him. At all.
Droid poppers. He may not be a droid, but his cybernetic components are just as vulnerable to EMPs.

Just give him the Bayformers Galvatron treatment. New body, fragments of the brain remain to replicate General Grievous's combat potential. Sifo-Dyas's force sensitive blood finally kicks in upon the presence of a Jedi or maybe some Jedi/Sith artifact or something. General Grievous's mind returns and slowly takes over the programming, with the sole motive of finishing what Darth Sidious started with Order 66. Which is killing all Jedi. Easily done.

It's kind of understandable, given his reputation, and those clones probably being scared out of their minds and panicking.
This music got it. Grievous as Darth Vader, or inquisitors should be a horror dark figure, not some funny speaking dumb clown in dark clothes. We really need a movie about Grievous and his horrific style of war. Remember the last moments of Rogue One, Vader with lightsaber - a few seconds of terror? That´s what I´m talking about.

I love Dave Filoni and his work. But keeping Grievous nerfed instead of following the 2003 version was one of his biggest mistakes.
It was George Lucas's decision, he didn't want grievous to be another darth Vader but I agree he got nerfed to much

They SHOULD HAVE followed the 2003 version. I get that he was OP so they had to nerf him, but here's where they fucked up: They should have 1. make Grievous learn from his mistakes. 2. make him train more VIGOROUSLY (giving him the BUFF he deserves) and 3. Make Grievous more of a LEGIT THREAT like his 2003 counterpart (instead of the comic relief, moustache - twirling, cocky, HEAVILY nerfed, DUMBASS we now have (but keep his Light Saber Collection and MAKE IF FEEL LIKE HE EARNED his "Trophies").

Darth isn't a person. Darth is a rank in the Sith power ladder. The second name is what you'd use to identify them. Revan, Malgus, Marr, Bane, Maul, Sidious, Plagieus, Vader. Prior to the Rule of Two there was also a Lord rank.

What I really like about this theme is that it really sounds like a "hunt", a tremendous danger coming closer and closer, and you know that whatever you do, you won't be able to stop it. Too bad they had to remove all this aspect in The Clone Wars...
Apart from it, it was OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD ! Man, I already love these movies, but you reminded me how epic they were before the Disney Nation attacked... Well done.

Well, Maul, Asajj, and Dooku are all force sensitive, but that could have been used as a way to elevate Grievous even further. Also, how many jedi did Jango kill? Just asking out of curiosity, cause I have no idea.
Edit: I have now remembered that parasaur Jedi that Jango shot, so yes he has killed one.
I have to say. Gendy Tartakovsky was a genius with the 2003 Clone wars. This song is amazing. It borrows from the JAWS theme and it personifies Grievous perfectly. The tune depicts the sudden movements of a machine, along with the foreboding terror of the Jaws hunting theme. They should have kept this theme, as it introduced Grievous perfectly for Episode III. A theme that suited a relentless, hollow, killing machine.
Imagine being a Jedi that ventured deep into the Geonosian catacombs during the battle, hoping to catch up with Poggle the Lesser. You have two comrade Jedi and a battalion of clones with you. You are entering a seemingly deserted catacomb. No battle droids to be seen. You order your troops to advance, but at that moment, you hear a scream in the Force. One of your Jedi friends falls to their knees. A burning lightsaber wound traverses their torso. You immediately sense your surroundings, but there is nothing. Nothing living except you and your battalion. Then you hear a strange metallic clanking noise coming from the ceiling, but you still cannot sense a living presence. But how could a droid, even very advanced, kill a Jedi? Then a strange silhouette drops into the middle of your troops. A green blade appears, and the next thing you know, the voices of your clones are screaming out in the Force as a tornado of energy devastates their ranks, sending arms, heads and legs flying. Another one of your Jedi brothers moves in to attempt to save those they can. Their blade clashes with the enemy's. Then all of sudden, your brother stumbles back. they turn around, and their head falls to the ground, as their lightsaber rolls into the shadows. Then you see a skeletal, droid-like hand move out and take it. Yet you feel it now, this isn't a droid, this is something else. The Force is screaming it to you: whatever was waiting for you in this catacomb, is death itself for all Jedi. Then your last companion, of whom you were the Padawan before the Naboo events, turns to you. "I'll end this here, if the Force will help me. Get out and warn the others. Don't look back." You understand her. "May the force be with you, master." You dash back the way you came, as she ignites her blade.
You run for several minutes. You know the exit is still far, but you are confident that your old master will be able to hold back whatever that thing was. You shall soon return with more Jedi and clones to help her . Then you hear it again. A faint clanking sound. You stop. You must not panic. You can hear it. Something is lurking around you in the darkness. But you cannot detect it in the Force. The sound is behind you, then at your right. Then above. Then it stops altogether. You prepare your lightsaber. You are going to have to fight.
All of a sudden you feel a warning in the Force, and almost immediately, a tornado of energy hits you. You try to deflect the spinning lightsabers, but the attack's raw, savage strength and mechanical precision rapidly bests you. You feel a burning feeling, and both your arms fall to the ground. Only the Force stops you from screaming in agony. Then you look up at the creature. It looks like a powerfully built droid... Then you see the eyes. Dead, emotionless, yet somehow burning in hatred towards you. The eyes of a monster. Then you see the lightsaber that cut of your arms. The blade of your master. The handle is covered in blood. The creature picks up your own saber. You feel darkness closing in on you, and just before the creature drives your own blade into your skull, you realize that this is not going to be the last lightsaber it will take. This is only the beginning of its reign.

I feel like 2003 grievous is to fast and agile for Vader to handle, considering Vader is really slow due to heavy armor.

You retreat into the catacombs to call for backup and notice the droids don't follow you inside. You split your ammo and water between all 13 of you, wait- 13?
One of your trooper asks: 'where's jimbo????'
Suddenly you hear the sound of cold metal repeatedly tapping against stone, slowly, as if someone was walking towards your unit. You can locate the sound at the end of a dark hallway just in front of you, and you all nervously open fire until the clicking stops. And resumes at the same spot. You had heard stories about a terrifying general Grievous who decimated armies and slaughtered even Jedi Masters, who could be recognized by his metal legs clicking as he walked. You order your troopers to fall back deeper inside the catacombs, and as you walk backwards slowly, you start hearing the general breathing, heavily, , striking fear deep into your heart. The breathing stops, and you turn around. No one. All of your troopers have vanished. You start panicking as you run towards the exit, but you start hearing the clicking again. ' Click- click-click'
You freeze, trying to locate the sound, it's behind you. No... Wait... It's... Above you. The clicking stops as you slowly tilt your head upwards, nothing. Suddenly, just over your shoulder, you feel his, or its presence. It's right there, behind you. Your helmet lights up as a blue blade emerges from behind through your chest, and the last thing you hear as you see the face of pure horror, is ' How does it feel to die?'

Obi Wan is my favorite character of Star Wars, but I’m not really interested in a series. However, a general grievous movie or series is what I want. I need to see his backstory on screen, him trained by Dooku, and of course kill Jedi. But I’ll be satisfied with the 2003 show and TCW for now.

To be fair, Grievous was obviously being cocky in that scene with the Gungans. Plus, they had weapons which disable electronics, which isn’t exactly a good thing for a cyborg like Grievous.

The Gungans have always been a warrior-like race thousands of years before the prequels. 3000 years before the Battle of Naboo, and a couple hundred years before the first humans colonized Naboo, the Gungans were separated through rivalry. One Gungan warlord, by the name of Roego, used that to his advantage to try and crush any Gungan tribes that opposed him. There was one Boss from Otoh Sancture, named Gallo, who seemed to command a presence that Roego got scared as many Bosses were wondering which side he would take. So Roego decided to make the first move and sent Bursas, something like rabid animals, to attack and destroy Otoh Sancture. Gallo survived, and then lead a campaign against Roego that lasted from a few months to over a year. Eventually they reached Roego's Keep at cliff based called Spearhead. After defeating Roego, Gallo then united all of the Gungan tribes together and established Otoh Gunga and became the first Boss of all the Gungans. They never stopped their warrior-like ways and ketp their united army under the banner of the Gungan Grand Army.
When the first human colonizers came to Naboo, there were many skirmishes between the two races until a ceasefire was established. Don't you find it strange that the Humans of Naboo, despite being peaceful, had a large Security Force which included Flash and Gian Speeders? As well as their N1-Starfighters by the time of the Phantom Menance? The Gungans are a warrior race like the Mandalorians and Wookies, its just that their weapons are primitive, but very effective against Droids. And considering Grievous is a cyborg, his body is that of a Droid, hence why he was taken down so easily by the Gungan Boomas. Tarpals sacrificed himself to bring Greivous down, and Grievous paid the price of underestimating a primitive race. Just like the Empire did with the Ewoks at Endor.
Such an amazing Villain. I would love if we saw him more in a series or something but it would need to show his true power and skill like the 2003 animation did. Make him the terrifying monster the Jedi saw him as.

That is why we need a Spin-off about Grievous where he can kill his oponent because they are not in Ep. 3

i know this is a long comment but stay with me and think about this better version of grievous vs obi wan IMO. the fight goes the same way except grievous fights with only 2 light sabers the regular music plays and grievous begins to gain the upper hand and takes down kenobi. as soon as that happens cody and his forces come to aid him. while the chaos rages across the base. kenobi takes this time to make an escape to regroup the last thing we see is him hop on boga to escape and grievous still using 2 lightsabers is taking hits from bunch of clones but still kills a bunch of them. this is where it gets scary for kenobi. while he is taking care of his wounds in an old cave, he hears heavy footsteps and boga yelp in pain then grievous comes out of the darkness looking like his shattered appearance from battlefront 2017. he ignites his 2 lightsabers and kenobi ignites his. while kenobi gets to his feet grievous laughs and splits his arms in half grabs 2 more sabers and spins all 4 in front of him while the music starting at 0:00 plays beginning another duel.that would be cool you guys can come up with how kenobi wins but this version of the fight makes grievous much cooler i think.
Maybe at the end he still uses 2 lightsabers, and we see him use 4 on the bridge of the invisible hand against obi and anakin while palpy watches and when he realizes he can’t win, he escapes like he does in the movie, only this time he slashes the glass with 4 sabers instead of the electro staff. Just more thoughts tho
