Hey Chris! Great video as always. I keep toothbrushes, toothpaste, and those travel sized deodorant, lotion etc in my car emergency kit. I put it together after my daughter and I got trapped for three days due to a blizzard and all roads being closed. We were really blessed that we got to a truck stop and stayed there and they had everything we needed including blankets to buy for sleeping in the car. Made me realize how completely unprepared we were. Now I have enough supplies to maintain at least a couple of days for my whole family in a car kit.

The most commonly used consumer grade antibacterial ingredient in soaps is worthless.I worked with a woman who used to work for a soap company. Germs adapt to that chemical very quickly and testing showed it is no better than plain soap. Her words were that it just creates super-germs. The antibacterial lotion with alcohol works well, but the other stuff is no better than soap.
@@DropForgedSurvival Now, I'm oversimplifying this, but gotta mention that detergent still works perfectly fine since it does so at the molecular level. To put it simply, bacteria, much like cells, are covered in a lipid membrane. Now, lipids are the same stuff that makes up fat, grease, oils, etc. Detergents have a part that binds to those lipids and apart that binds to water. So, while washing you end shredding that protective cover, poking holes in it, killing the bacteria. In addition, the detergent binds strongly enough for all those molecules that made up the cellular wall of the bacteria, to bind to it instead of each-other, also breaking everything down. Now, it's true that there are those that secrete mucus and are resistant to detergents. See those slimy films that might grow up near water sources like your garden hose. Those are either amoeba (protists, not bacteria) or mucus-secreting bacteria. It's true that bacteria "adapt" really fast to deadly chemicals that are meant to enter the cell and poison them. They can simply not let it in. They might be able to pump it out. They might be able to neutralize it somehow. This is, for example, what happens with hydrogen peroxide. All those bubbles are the bacteria turning something that's poisonous to them into something that isn't. So, once the bubbling stops, it means you've overwhelmed their capacity to counteract this toxic substance and they start dying out. (Note: do not use hydrogen peroxyde on open wounds. What created the bubbling there are your own cells). Alcohol is a toxic substance, but it's also a desiccant and a solvent, and much like detergent, it acts on a molecular level. Hence why it's the preferred method and why high concentrations of it will kill basically anything, including viruses - which aren't cells. Viruses are closed systems and not metabolically active. They don't take things in or out. They are not affected by poisonous substances, but alcohol and detergent still break them down. Thought detergent is far less effective as the virus cover is a protein one, albeit, many also have a lipid sheath which they may need in order to infect and that is vulnerable to detergent. That's why washing your hands is very important. There's also the fact that even if detergent is not effective at breaking down a virus or a bacteria, they still get stuck and wash off with water, essentially removing the pathogen even if it doesn't kill it. You might be seeing shortages of rubbing alcohol, but you should try and check the barbeque section for bio-ethanol. High-grade bio-ethanol (96º+) is used as fuel for burning stoves and it's literally the same thing as rubbing alcohol using for disinfection. Isopropyl alcohol - typically used to clean electronic circuits - is also as good as ethanol and it's likely that's being overlooked. No one goes to an electronics dealer to buy disinfectant. If a disinfectant is graded and homologated against viruses and encapsulated viruses, do not worry, there's no way for the virus to adapt to it like bacteria do because it means it acts on a molecular level, breaking the bonds of the protein capsid of the virus. Remember, viruses are not metabolically active, and can't actively defend to anything attacking them outside the body. Unlike bacteria, they can't run away from it, they can't counteract it or neutralize it, they can't pump it out and they can't prevent it from damaging their protective cover at all.
Just a heads up about essential services, recently New Zealand went into a 4 week lock down. None of the hardware stores are open except for those in essential services. If you are a non essential worker that means you can't purchase goods during the lock down (that also includes online orders). It will probably be different in America and different again depending on what state you live in, but it could happen. Prep now before a lock down happens, you'll be glad you did.

They have been the best neighbor I ever had and I go out of my way to help them out and look after them like I would my own parents. I volunteer to run their errands, but they wanted to maintain their independence which I can understand under normal circumstances. They celebrated their 57th anniversary in mid March and went out to eat with a few of their friends before the mandatory quarantine!! I called them regularly to see if there is anything I can do for them and I spoke to her on the phone last night. She said they were doing fine. I woke up this morning to find the fire rescue truck parked in front of their house, soon two police officers showed up and I knew something serious was happening. I learned that he died this morning and they just carried his body out of the house about an hour ago. It’s surreal!!! Please be careful.

Here in Portugal the number of people dying keeps rising each day. Things are getting scary. There's cops on the streets, no food in the supermarkets and a lot of people are losing their jobs.

I’m concerned at this point, and I really cannot thank you and your wonderful family enough for all you all do. As someone who is immunocompromised I am concerned at this time, and ill already because of a cold I’ve been fighting for months now, and I’m sure if I got covid19 it would be bad for me. So as it stands when going out at this time when I have to I wear ppe I’ve had of my own for years, and I’m taking every possible precaution. You all are amazing, and I cannot thank you and your family enough. If you’re ever curious about what I use as someone who is chronically ill who relies on ppe (throughout flu season especially) feel free to let me know here, and I’ll contact you through Facebook messenger about it. There is a lot that many don’t know about ppe and safe protocols people don’t understand. I have a family member who was a health and safety advisor for a local fire company and who dealt with Osha through his day job. Hope you and your family are doing well and happy. God bless and thank you again.
I was looking at some of the items that you were talking about in the video such as the travel size section, flashlights and batteries and I was thinking that they would make great barter items.
It was reported some time ago for consumers NOT to purchase items such as ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamins, etc from discount stores because they were tested and found to be inferior because they were processed with questionable ingredients.
Just had to say love the vid long time sub. To everyone that reads this do not trust the numbers coming out of my. My grandma died on Monday at 92 and the said covid killed her. It was the 8 strokes and massive health problems she had over the years and covid did nothing she was asymptomatic
I hope you realize that you need eye protection for virus prevention included as well as gloves and a respirator. Having just 2 out of 3 items will reduce your exposure but will not eliminate it.
I work in fast food but I'm seeing numbers in my state double and triple the number of infected...we shouldn't be open, we are so busy all the time, dine in is closed, but literally we get probably 750 cars through drive through a day. So if that's one person per car 750 people but mostly it's 2 3 and even 4 peoplebat a time. I think its disqusting honestly.

Another great video. All the best for you and your family in getting through these challenging times.
I just made 10 gallons of homemade laundry soap. I'm going to try it for a dish soap as well. The cost of making the 10 gallons was so so small it's incredible. I don't know why I didn't do this earlier.
Bro, this is as real as it gets. And just my opinion, I don't agree with the numbers.. I'm feeling that they're a bit higher. There's literally 1000's of people who have no idea what they're walking around with, and most likely don't have testing available to them a this time.. My heart hurts to have to say this, but by the time this Coronavirus is at a level of stability: we will have lost 45-55% of the world's population.. May God have mercy on our souls..
Why does everyone get mad if you touch something and not buy it? Your wearing a mask and gloves. I’m in Rhode Island and we have 2000 cases for over a million people so some people wear masks or makeshift masks but not everyone

Oh wow 😳 That is awful. You as well be safe
You can get plastic gloves at Lowes/Home Depot in the painting section. You can find Mildew Killer in the paint section of Walmart - it contains bleach. Bring that and paper towels with you to spray on cart handles.
Yup. Already making a video homes. Thanks
You may also find pool shock at Walmart in the seasonal section. You can make your own bleach
@@hedge313 That is a GREAT tip.
I keep a bag of pool shock on hand - and mix a small amount of it with water and pour it in the top part of my front loading washer - it kills all the mold in the parts you can't see - and freshens the washing machine.
Veterinary hospitals are considered essential, however that is for emergency and urgent cases to be prioritized during this time.
Yes
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
When i was i 🙂single man i used Those tall emergency candles to heat my bedroom in Michigan outside temperature 28゚ had my furnace on low 45゚ 12 of those candles in my bedroom. bedroom is 15 by 12 got the temperature in their from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock at night temperature got to 60゚ 1 Room 60゚ not bad for candles
Very smart move!
Build a ceramic pot above a candle with bricks to make radiant heat.
@@hedge313 I have done that with a steel bolt going through the middle and having the candle flame on that steel bolt there was an amazing amount of heat It does work better if you use an oil lamp It is easier to adjust the Flame
This dollar store is freaking huge damn!
One of the best in country i have ever been too. Ive been too Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Rhode Island, New York, Conn, Mass, Maine, Vermont, Indiana, FL, Miss, Missouri, LA, Alabama, Oregon, Washington, and Cali.... Never seen one this good before! God Bless Texas’
Ive never seen a tote box larger than a shoe box in Dllar Tree. They are holding out around here.
Those lighters you briefly pointed to, two spots underneath the ones you picked up, are awesome. The look like stubby bbq lighters. They last about 2 months each of constant use. We use em for candles, check em out sometime!
Awesome! Thanks for the tip
Oh yeah you're talkin about those small lighters that have the little extension. I found one of those someplace for a dollar but if it dollar store has them I would definitely pick some up. And the barbecue lighters that Chris picked up or also nice because you have extra safety and more fluid

Late to the party but still great advice and great video! Be careful with anything topical or ingestible from the Dollar Store - make sure its not made in PRC ( Peoples Republic of China.) Your Dollar Tree is really nice, wow!
Another great video mate! so glad to see that your lady and yourself are wearing masks! good job!
Thanks alot
Make sure you check expiration dates at dollar stores. I always find old things
This Dollar tree is top notch. But it is a nice side of town.
If you're finding old things, it's because your store isn't paying attention and rotating it's stock properly.
Rock N Roll Monkey yep... I’ve just noticed it a lot in several dollar stores.
I bought one of those trigger lighters, looked just like the one you picked up and it was defective, flame shot back at me ! Pay extra for better quality
I went to the Dollar Tree a couple of days ago and the one in my area still has disinfectant spray! Also, be weary of the white latex gloves. They will leave residue on your hands.
Good to know they still had spray!
Just powder, to keep hands dry but a lot of folks wind up itchy from it.
My family dollar and dollar general are fully stocked here in MI
Here in Portugal the number of people dying keeps rising each day. Things are getting scary. There's cops on the streets, no food in the supermarkets and a lot of people are losing their jobs.
Same here in the us... Slowly but it is ramping up. Be safe.
@@DropForgedSurvival Thanks i will. Stay safe as well.
You are a fantastic shtf prepper!
We just try to share what we learn with others
Where I Shop the shelves for the most part are fully stocked. With the exception of bread, TP, paper towels, bleach Cleaners and isopropyl alcohol and Mac n Cheese . The local Wally World looks like a desert. Sold out of almost everything.
Wally world is absolutely awful
Where I live it’s calming down a lot when we go to the store there’s a lot of water food and etc
Good to hear.
I bought the last half gallon of bleach only because the cap was missing. Pests and other stuff you are the first I have seen to bring it up.
Pest Control companies are not open.. Last time a Checked.
Not surprising. At lot of people don't think about bugs and rats eating their stuff. A BIG majority don't understand things like dysentery or open sewers or burn pits. Hopefully it doesn't come to sub standard living conditions.
I still have to clean my bathroom even though a boog (hopefully) might not happen
ALL great advice. I think we are almost at a complete lockdown here in Southern Ontario Canada.
Those lil shave kit travel size stuff will be a great Barter item when the S REALLY HTF !
Agreed. Be safe in the great Wilderness Zone of North America.
Dail soap is antibacterial soap its sold at the dollar tree..great video.
Thanks for the tip
You can wash everything with it
that is a nice size storage tub. thank u for ur video
Thanks
Ya I love my Dollar Tree, better then Family Dollar or Dollar General. Your Dollar Tree looks nice AF.
I hear you bud. Please stay healthy and safe. Definitely man. Hit me up on facebook.
Good stuff man. Gotta love the dollar store!
Definitely
Dish soap is great for washing with, I use it in the spring/summer for poison ivy oils after working outside
I have professionally cleaned houses and AWESOME IS. A great cleaner/disinfectant! They also sell $1 disinfectant wipes that kill 99.99% of germs!
Right on
I was looking at some of the items that you were talking about in the video such as the travel size section, flashlights and batteries and I was thinking that they would make great barter items.
Thanks for this info as always you and your wife are helpful, I need to check all these dollar stores out.
Be safe when and if resupplying
For sharing that Vital Information with us we all can use it♥️
Thanks alot Wendy.
Dollar Tree also sells seeds.
It was reported some time ago for consumers NOT to purchase items such as ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamins, etc from discount stores because they were tested and found to be inferior because they were processed with questionable ingredients.
Same with things like toothpaste.
Good tips as always.
Thanks alot Bud.
having some extra reusable rubber gloves is a good idea.
Agreed
Our Wal-Mart had everything but butter. Even lots of poop paper. Lol
Lucky!!
Just had to say love the vid long time sub. To everyone that reads this do not trust the numbers coming out of my. My grandma died on Monday at 92 and the said covid killed her. It was the 8 strokes and massive health problems she had over the years and covid did nothing she was asymptomatic
I'm sorry for your loss
Dave Blair My condolences & respect for the loss of your beloved grandmother. May she RIP 🌹🌹🌹
Great videos
Thanks alot bud.
vets are a must to be open i know because i own a puppy
Awesome
You guys are awesome
I hope you realize that you need eye protection for virus prevention included as well as gloves and a respirator. Having just 2 out of 3 items will reduce your exposure but will not eliminate it.
We have everything in our vehicle and gauge our response based on vehicle or lack there of in a parking lot... it is a vastly empty store.
Wow i cant believe how easly controlled people are.
@@unknownbenson shut up
You should do a video on survival uses for superglue.
Sounds fun
Awesome!!! Thanks!!!
Anytime time Brent!
Oh yeah... drive throughs are crazy insanely busy in san Antonio right now.
@@DropForgedSurvival I will say though, with us using so much product, our frosty bags are big bags and are rather sturdy, so I've two in my bag haha
What do you think about the cross contamination that happened between the cashier and your purchased items? Leaving home with a box of rona.
Here in San Antonio Texas we still have some local vets open
That is good to know as it is my home town.
Greetings and good wishes from India.......quite knowledgeable information.....
THanks alot bud. be safe.
@@DropForgedSurvival Hello, such quality survival stuff which is avalaible in US is not here in India...Why don't you start ur own website and start shipping to India? I have gone through loads of websites in US but hardly anyone caters to the Indian market.....Thanks....
Once again, good looking out for the American people.. You and your Wife are the best.. Thanks Bro... Stay American, stay focused and stay safe.
Thanks alot Charles
Thank you
Anytime
Your dollar tree is 100x more organized and much cleaner than ours here!
I live in San Antonio, which Dollar Tree is this? Thanks! Stay safe!
On bandera... look for the 5.0 rating on google maps.
Solar rechargeable lights will be so much more handy than a battery type flashlight, in my opinion.
Solar Lights are super helpful.
what if power goes out ,you might have flashlights, you can buy glow sticks from walmart real cheap to conserve battery life from your batteries
That is also true.
Love 💘 this ❤ videos thanks 😊
I love dollar tree.
We have been getting mice in our home. It’s FREAKS me out ! We put out traps. The best thing that’s happened is our dogs and cats hunt them. We live in the country but we have not had this problem ever before. What we ended up doing is putting all our food into tubs. So if you don’t have containers to keep your food protected get some. I hope everyone is safe! God bless, Leslye
Tractor Supply has the best easy to use mouse and rat traps. They also have other great things.
Buy those granola Packs with nuts, chocolate and oatmeal. They dont go Bad for a long time and are delicious.
Furthermore, you dont nessesarily need milk, they are like snacks (generally any kind of those)
Very true
I found milk, dried in Hispanic food section at Wal-Mart, NIDO whole dried milk. Needed it for bread baking. Also bought chocolate milk, just add water.
@@janeeckert3642 Thats of corse a good thing to have.
Another great video. I suspect that covid-19 will have nowhere near the lethality that you suggest, but the economic consequences of government panic will likely be severe; in any case, it always makes sense to prepare for the worst. All the best for you and your family in getting through these challenging times.
Economic issues should be rather concerning
My permanent shelter isn't ready for my family to move in yet, it's time to put in some overtime.

I just made 10 gallons of homemade laundry soap. I'm going to try it for a dish soap as well. The cost of making the 10 gallons was so so small it's incredible. I don't know why I didn't do this earlier.
That is awesome.
Love the video! Great idea going to dollar tree
Great! Im glad you are enjoying our investigative series for the folks wanting some insight on where to go.
CDC says they estimate they real numbers are 3-10x times higher
Bro, it's just so unbleaveable!!!!!
Good that you shave, Chris. you should watch my past videos. Here a tip watch "Seven days in May". Be nervous
Thanks. Shaving was need yet annoying
Cool vid
Thanks alot Micha.
Holy moly this is so scary. I have to go to the dollar tree today. I’m definitely going to get some gloves that’s for sure
Definitely
Why does everyone get mad if you touch something and not buy it? Your wearing a mask and gloves. I’m in Rhode Island and we have 2000 cases for over a million people so some people wear masks or makeshift masks but not everyone
Everyone is an Crybaby on the Internet
Great tips no longer just for those on a budget.
True
99 bottles of hand sanitizer on the road take one down pass it around 99 bottles of handsantizer ...98 bottles of handsantizer ...oh shit they found out i have hand santizer run

pretty didactic your videos men Thanks
This Coronavirus is kicking butt !!!
Howard County in Indiana is banning all sales of non essential items even in places where they can buy essential items.
So weird! Hope yall stay safe out there
@@DropForgedSurvival I live in Madison county but I figure it is only a matter of time before you can't get items we will need. So today we went and bought a tiller then we came home and seen the news about the sale ban in Howard County. I looked at my husband and said see told you they are gonna start banning sales. But at least now we can till our land and not have to so small raised beds like we have done the last 2 years, as buying the land and building a house took a lot of our funds, but I have been saving for this purchase and am glad I didn't wait till May like I was gonna do. Cause you might not be able to buy items like that come May.
True. Glad you yall getting things together for your family
@@DropForgedSurvival that was the last major thing we really needed. We have everything else, knew this was coming just didn't know how or when. This is one of the many things we have been prepping for. Stay safe.
i wonder if some that food is expired and moms are putting stuff back on the shelves?
This particular Dollar tree is about the best one in the country. Definitely at least in texas.
