Yeh, the bmx bars really help the look of this bike for sure! DBN's turtleneck/bar has a fairly long lead time currently, so I ordered from Vitilan (for their I7PRO bike) instead. Hopefully it will fit the XP 3.0 w/o any mods.
Hey, how did that work out? What did you think of the Vitilan bars? I'm thinking of getting them for my i7, but am also considering a custom setup and am looking for feedback/advice.
@@ABC-po6be Oh yeh man all good, that Vitalan setup is great if you want the bars to fold over like the stock bars, or like DBN's thing. I'm not even sure if I'll ever have the need to fold them over for storing/transporting, but nice to have that option. If you wanna see them, I got a vid of the bike with them mounted on.
@@pondacres Good to hear that they worked for you. Keeping the folding aspect makes sense for me, though I do like the look of a custom handlebar setup without the turtleneck extension. I'll have to sleep on it for a bit. Thanks for the feedback, I'll check that video out. Cheers.
@@pondacres Thanks, I appreciate that. I think that I'm going to go for some custom bars and just loosen the stem bolts to fold them down if need be. One question that I have, is where to find out what size stem quill adapter will fit the Vitilan i7 2.0?
I LOVE the look of your bike. Just ordered the XP 3.0 long range, Black Friday special. I’m about to go order the Turtle Neck 2.0 stem from David Brand new now. Thanks for sharing!! Liked and subscribed ✅
Hey Chris, I really like the way you have your lectric looking. The only thing I would suggest is to put back your taillight on your saddle I believe a working taillight with your brakes would look great. Walmart has a taillight bracket that will fit your saddle without a problem. Checking it out.
David, I really like this video. I am going to try this and can see how much better this will steer without the giraffe stem. Also, I found a good place for my water bottle instead of using up space where you have it mounted. If you just go buy a bottle cage and bottle (I bought a $14 one from Academy) and then buy bolts that fit in the Front Rack mounts, you can mount a bottle cage there and insert the bottle. Makes it very easy to get to and uses a space that most of us don't use for a rack. Also, can you put a link to the blue bracket you have for your handlebars. I have a Lectric 2.0 stepthrough.
@Chris Crossed, how much better are the brakes after you upgraded to the bigger rotors and calipers? I have a 2.0 and the brakes are not that great. I'm looking to upgrade
What is the diameters of where the handlebar grips are and the throttle in the breaking system? Is the handlebar diameter 22.2mm? I know the fork size is 28.6mm
@Chris Crossed That's the base of the handlebars where it clamps on. I'm trying to figure out the size of where the grips the throttle and the breaking system is is that 22.2 mm. I think it's Actually 28.6mm not 31.8
Looks amazing Chris ! love what you have done to the XP. i was thinking of changing out my pedal cranks to an anodized blue. Any recommendations on what size and where to get them ? i did the same brakes as you and i really like them. they look great and work well. was able to put them on in about an hour and get them dialed in. loving my build so far. thanks for all the vids and tips. keep em coming.
Quick question. I bought the turtleneck and the quill stem you have listed. For some reason the quill stem does not drop all the way down into the head tube. Shouldn’t it go all the way in to where it flairs out?
When going to the 180 rotor dose that give you more clearance between the front spokes and caliper? Iv been wanting to do hydraulic brakes but due to clearance issues other people have had I have not but I really want to
Hi Criss I think I'm ready to do this. Curious question if I may. What did you get from DavidBrandNew? Was it just the Turtle Neck stem? Plus the Quill stem adapter also. and what is the correct measurement for the Stem Riser Adapter? I have the XP 2.0 Thank you for your awesome videos.
I just used the quill stem that came with the Lectric …just bought the turtleneck from David. I think he sells a bundle now that includes the quill stem?
@@ChrisCrossed thank you I really appreciate your help. I am not mechanically inclined lol. You got a sub and I'm already on your bike page. ( under my real name lol )
Nice upgrades! Your front valve stem is crooked. It will wear and leak and you will not be able to patch it. I'd recommend you straighten it. UA-cam will show you how.
If we are going to be honest, these ebikes can easily become money-pits. It would be more informative if you include the cost of the upgrades. I have an XP Lite. I have already exceeded the purchase price of the ebike in upgrades/changes/improvements and still do not have a front suspension fork!
I really appreciate your calm, cool approach to your videos.
Thanks for watching

Nice job....looks great !!
Take the wire run it up to back of fender. Use stap wrapped around fender rear attachment to mount light on fender.
Nice have the exact same setup and added etsy rear light mount and baby blue reflective rim tape!
Yeah I have the rim tape just haven’t add yet

Thanks, i tried lookin on amazon for a taillight bracket but couldnt find one. In store Walmart?
DavidBrandNew has a nice UA-cam channel with info & vids on the stem & a bunch of cool other ebikes stuff.
Did you upgrade the freewheel to 11" and change the speed to 30 Miles per hour on the settings ??
Yes
On the sandstorm xp lite, with the stay strong bars, did you install a shim to make the bars fit?
the bmx handle bar mod is for looks?
or is there a function for them as well?
Looks basically

A cool idea to put a solar panel chargerron bag or rack to get extra charge cell phone or battery
Cool grips💙
Thats cool im going to do the bmx bars on my 2.0 what stem is that and bars
Have you tried to take off the blue valve stem covers, I heard they get stuck on. nice looking though
yeah i have havent had any issues yet .
Awesome and I like the name BMXP that's clever
Thanks Lectric should trademark it, lol

I did not
@Chris Crossed, how much better are the brakes after you upgraded to the bigger rotors and calipers? I have a 2.0 and the brakes are not that great. I'm looking to upgrade
I’d say they are a 70% better if I was giving a percentage..so much grip now.

i think the peals are 9/16, in lieu of Amazon try SourceBMX.com
How do we order the stem in blue? and can we order the blue spacers or the quill adapter thru your site too?
DBN only sells the stem in black, you'll have to get the spacers on amazon

To be honest I forget, check with David
Very nice. Get that valve core straight on the front wheel before you ruin he tube. Ask me how I know. 🙃
How did you get the old stem off the bike . the hex bolt is hard for me to remove.
just used my allen keys, was pretty easy
Where or what mount is that you have for the display screen? Thx
It’s the original mount, I think I may have used some extra rubber pieces so it’s snug
I’m in the process of converting my XP 2.0 to BMX
Nice!!

on Standby, I hope to surprise my wife with a bike makeover, hahahah. NOT!
For me YES!
U cant blow thru the stop man respect the road 😂
Yes much better like that, all these bikes other than the FIIDO have those ugly stem and bar set up.
Don't know why Lectric keeps using that badly designed stem they use. It's too far forward. Wake up Lectric.
It's part of the fold design ...smaller footprint. Although I think the fold capability issue is going away with the new designs .
I assume that will setup xp2 as well?
yep
After some time with your bars, do you think 10 inches is too much? Kinda leaning towards 9
9 Should be fine, Im tall so I wanted the most height i could get
