Greg is an absolute treasure! As an owner of an Old Town AP136, all I see in this display is an example of Native moving the ball forward in a number of areas. When the time comes, I'm definitely going to be considering what Native has to offer.
Thanks for the reply been watching alot of your vids and Greg's for a wile i was mostly bank fishing if it was in a boat it was with my dad wich isnt with us anymore,,,thankyou for all the info that you guys put out there i also like the bonafide yaks its a tos up witch one i like the most,,once again thanks
Native Watercraft has most definitely knocked this one out of the park. I have used a couple of different brands over the years and this kayak is unbelievable. To have a kayak that has been designed and rated to have bow and stern mounted motors at the same time, low center of gravity storage compartments for batteries and sacrificial plates to run your wiring through is unheard of until now. The options are almost unlimited. The Native Titan X 12.5 is on my list of next tournament kayaks for me.
Based on what I have seen to date, it seems like the X is going to be a great kayak. It is the kayak i plan on purchasing when they are more available. Native feel free to release the weight. The kayaks are now for sale. What's the hold up...? As usual, these kayak companies seem to be scared to death of giving out the true weight of their units. Bot sure why. We care in a time where consumers understand that a large fishing kayak is going to have some heft. Also the price for this boat is in line with the built-in features it comes with. If the performance matches up with everything else, Native has a home run.
This was the most exciting thing about iCast. This is the first kayak that has me seriously thinking about moving to a different platform from my Nucanoe Unlimited. The weight will probably be the deciding factor.
Same, I was thinking they took a lot of ideas from the Unlimited, but then went above and beyond it. I love mine also, but really contemplating switching to the Titan now.
@@cindyschnelland if you mod it, not having to drill is game changing. Doesn't depreciate the value of the kayak bc no one wants to buy a used kayak that's been drilled into haha
Can’t wait to get mine. Already pre ordered it on day one. For a dude that uses a motor this boat is a dream come true. The price is perfect as well. Super excited to see how Greg sets his up too
Nice video, for sure, Chad. So glad you got that little feller (Greg Blanchard) to explain everything to us, too! (Hey! Greg is the one that talked me into a Titan 10.5 over 5 years ago, and it's STILL going Strong...!). As soon as I saw the video that Greg posted on the New Titan X, I went down to our dealer and Ordered one (might even get it before Next Fishing Season, they said!). Have 4 'Yaks now, so what's another one matter? Haha! Thanks for making this video, 'cause lots of us out here are "Drooling" over the New Titan X's).
Two Legends, just full of knowledge, and very respected, as you guys, are the face of our sport. Yes, my favorite angler is GB. And I would love to see Greg with spot lock, a power pole, and his live scope. As for the Titan X. They really just designed an awesome, and amazing fishing vessel. She's just beautiful. All They've done for us, with all the options that are set up for you, the swivel seat, storage, the deck, how it's ready to easily make a fishing machine. I could just go on and on! $3600.00 I think is extremely a perfect price point for this boat. I love my 12ft fin drive, with all my accessories, NK, and next season I'll add my Xi3. Great review, from you guys. And Greg, is extremely creative with his Titan he just not long ago had the wizard design for him. 🙏 🌊 🎣 🛶
Those plates, battery placements, wiring design, seat and balance is game changing. Not having to drill instantly ups the value of this kayak as you can re-sell it easy for a new model 5-10 years later. Seen nice kayaks that people had to get rid of, but they've drilled into it for some kind of mod and instantly loose interest even at a decent price.
I’m a Hobie guy and is currently on my third kayak the PA14 360. Got the 360 as an upgrade but after seeing this video and the Old Town video I will say I’m done with Hobie and I think Hobie is done for if they change. I will probably end up buying this Native Titan X when it becomes available. Great job to Native Watercraft and Old Town for listening to their customers.
Great viseo Chad and Greg. Nice yak but the pedal drive takes up to much of the standing space and the foot controls get in the way of the horizontal rod storage. Horizontal rod storage is a must for me. Don't like rods standing up behind me. Overall very nice yak.
You can take the foot pedals off the tracks and don’t use them. The pedal drive takes up less of the standing space than any other pedal drive that I’ve seen, relative to the size of the boat overall. Thanks for watching and for the comment 👊🏻
Eight years ago, I went from fishing for Bass in Tennessee to fishing for Giant Snakeheads in Thailand. I wish something like that was available here. Here, you have one choice, Feelfree. If you're rich, you can get a Hobie here. There is one place in the country that sells them. After the 30% minimum import tax and the mark-up, you can get one for around $7,000. Not happening.
It has almost everything you need. Does it come with navigation lighting ready? It's practically almost perfect. Please add the ability to be navigation ready!!
Yes that has been thought out and no one has showcased it. There’s a small area under the bow mount in the drain channel and will allow you to mount navigation lights. We got that covered!
For everyone that says that here is the actual answer. NuCanoe uses a seat from a company called Millennium and the seats are available for a ton of watercraft. NuCanoe popularized them for kayaks, but Native and NuCanoe are both getting them from Millennium. millenniummarine.com
Is there an on the water video for this yak? I would like to see one fully loaded going through both calm and rough water with a 200lb guy riding in it. The options and built in features look fantastic!
I asked that question when I saw the water coming off the boot in the promo video and I was told that it was because they had the scuppers in and it was raining. The Native rep told me that this boat will be dry and that they put effort towards that in the design process. So, while I haven’t been in it and can’t confirm it 100% personally, I was told it wouldn’t be an issue with this kayak, at least not in the 12.5, I honestly didn’t ask about the 10.5
Awesome, how did you conceal the transducer wire running from the dry pod to the unit? Did you have to drill into the hull for that? I would like to get that double graph setup
Well, there are several reasons. 1. Native developed this well before the patent expired and they were the first with reverse. 2. This pedal drive is vastly superior in the reliability department. 3. Many people love the instant reverse without have to pull a cord or anything like that. 4. Some companies have integrity that extends beyond whether it’s “legal” to do something 5. Hobie has patent extensions on the reverse and other improvements so it would be like going back to not having reverse at all after you are the company that touted “First with Reverse” for over a decade. 6. Because they have improved this drive to the point where it works flawlessly with their hulls and systems and it’s very durable and maintenance free for the most part 7. Because companies like Pelican, Lightning and a bunch of other Alibaba boats are already doing it like you said.
Not sure on my end. I’m sure they will announce all of that very soon or you can likely contact your nearest dealer and they will have the most up to date information on anticipated release and availability dates and times.
No, because the stability is built into the hull and those outriggers make it difficult to navigate most of the places that we fish in kayaks. There are some aftermarket versions, but with the stability of most modern fishing kayaks they are not needed.
@@ChadHooverFishing so do you fish blue water? Nobody cares about stability in a lake or backwater estuary where its always flat. Out in the deep ocean is where u need stability. Swells, wind, tiger sharks. Thats the environment im talking about. I know there are hulls that are proven in blue water but curious about the newest super big wide hulls. They are beautiful with all the amenities and space for gear.
I honestly believe we are seeing more kayaks coming out because of the aluminum shortages with jon boats. After buying a jon boat recently its 1000x better than my kayak was and basic same price
@@ChadHooverFishing I’ll give it a shot . Thank you. I was about to pull the trigger on a new PA14 but really want to see the Titan x first considering the savings .
Pretty neat Rig, however I'm more of a miminalist and have no desire for electronics or motors so I'll stick to my Titan 12. Besides I'm going to have to go with DYI because apparently not a lot of people are trying to mount lights and a bow mount to accommodate for Bow fishing.
Nope on running bow mount on that particular boat from the battery in the back as its 36v and motor guide is 12v. Unless they have a voltage conversion module installed.
Hey guys! Can anyone tell me, the hull Design is same as Titan 12 or 13.5? How deep is it sits in water? I mean the water line is same as at the earlier modells when scuppers are unplugged? Thanks
I’d be interested in switching from my Hobie Pa12 360 to the Titan X. There’s no dealers in the Phoenix area though. Kinda hate the thought of driving 6 hours to the closest dealer just to look at it.
Curious as to how sidekick wheels deploy...is it lift each side and swing down lock into place or more like a cart where you have to offload some weight & gear to get it up on the cart correctly? Basically do the wheels get you off the landing and back to the truck as easily as 1,2,3?
Most people rotate them down and into position while still on the vehicle or trailer. But you can raise the kayak and deploy them on the ground. Once in the water the kayak floats up and you stow them, coming back to the ramp you just do the opposite.
I'd like to know if "BEST OF SHOW" is voted by patrons or companies who grease the ballot box? Like the auto companies, i question everything because everyone gets a trophy with money.
This is my personal Best of Show. The official one is subject to the things you are alluding to and over the years I’ve always chosen my own. Often times I’ve chosen companies that are direct competitors to the companies that I’ve partnered with. So, for this one, the only outside influence is my experience and my instincts about the sport and the industry as a whole.
Only if the NuCanoe seat is the seat from every bass boat and pond boat that used it before. But I know what you mean. Native had a spin around seat a long time ago on one of their Paddleboard kayak hybrids, Diablo had one, Jackson has it on the BlueSky, etc. It’s just hard when people say this stuff when it’s all been done before in other places. It’s the evolution of the sport
Just curious. I've been searching your videos... What pfd are you using now? Fixing to upgrade mine and have been watching your reviews. Thanks for all the great videos
The price of the kayak is $3,600.00. With all the accessories they have on this I think the total price would be close to $10,000. You can get a decent used bass boat for that price.
But then you still have a bass boat. We fish out of these kayaks for what they offer in access and control and even if a “bass boat” was cheaper it’s not the point. And you are pricing out all the stuff new and then comparing it to something you can buy used which isn’t an apples to apples comparison. If you bought this boat new, then shopped for the motor and other parts used you wouldn’t be anywhere near $10,000. Also, this boat was setup over the top to show off for ICAST, most people aren’t putting a bow mount and stern mount and two Power Poles
Chad thanks for a great showing of this kayak you nailed it but I have one question will 2 torqeedo batterie fit in the box behind the seat? I have one on pre order and I want to put both of my torqeedo batterie there so do you think they both will fit thanks
@ChadHooverFishing great. I can't wait to get mine. I know what parts I will be taking off my P127 for this new beast. the only thing that has me a little concerned is the weight. Also, I did not know you took people out on the water. I mean, I seen you do it on your UA-cam channel, so now you have me thinking of doing this next spring or summer for vacation time
I've got a vibe shearwater and the features of this kayak are awesome. But that price wow that's rough. I thought my shearwater was high but man 3600 is a lot. Does that include a motor?
Tx 12 will be around 10 lbs less than current Titan 13.5.. this is from Native rep who answered my question on their initial Titan X video with GB.. hope this helps
I hear what you are saying, but even the reps don’t really know until they finish rotomolding some and measuring thicknesses and then adjusting hull shot weight until they find the sweet spot
Chad, can you let us know what they used for the center console on that new native? I Just talked with yakattack, and they said native piece it together. I see they use the locknload bace and 2 of the 90-degree angles, but what did they use to go across? If you answer that, that be awesome and did you say the tub is already there for the feet steering? Been rewatching the viedo to see if any one said it but has not heard hope u can help me out has everything else already ordered for the new native thanks in advance if you have answer
The tube is already there for the foot steering and so are the foot braces. As for the CrossBar they just pieces that together and it’s not an actual product. However, I’m working with a company that will officially launch soon called OPS (Outdoor Product Solutions) that will offer a number of solutions similar to this
That’s true in a planing hull situation and with a fixed “load”. You can’t make a general statement like that about a displacement hull and you can’t get a defined waterline number from a boat with an adjustable seat and payload
@@ChadHooverFishing The math equations 1.4 can vary between 1 and 1.4 based on the shape of the displacement hull. My point is a 10 ft kayak will be slower than a 12 ft kayak. All 12 ft kayak will have the same hull speed.

Isn’t that a Nucanoe seat?
Only if the NuCanoe seat is the seat from every bass boat and pond boat that used it before. But I know what you mean. Native had a spin around seat a long time ago on one of their Paddleboard kayak hybrids, Diablo had one, Jackson has it on the BlueSky, etc. It’s just hard when people say this stuff when it’s all been done before in other places. It’s the evolution of the sport
@@ChadHooverFishing You’re right. I actually did see one of those seats on Amazon but under a different name.
Does the 10.5 come with the same swivel and height seating?
I can't decide between this and the Feelfree Dorado 12.5 V2. Any thoughts?
Chad as a fan, help me pick out my next kayak! Hobie PA14 360 or Titan X?
I kinda think I just did. 😜
Where did you get the graph mount
That’s something that Native is developing
I need to upgrade my sidekick wheels..where do you get the lighter version like in this video?
Just curious. I've been searching your videos... What pfd are you using now? Fixing to upgrade mine and have been watching your reviews. Thanks for all the great videos
Thanks. It’s the Stohlquist PiSEAS
@@ChadHooverFishing thought so but wanted to make sure. Thanks again Chris
I love it
👍
wish they would sell it without the propel drive and id go buy one tmw.
Be sure to bring this up to your local dealer.
@@ChadHooverFishing I did, hoping we can work something out.
I would have gone this one if I had not already had my Hobie PA14
i will like to know how good is offshore
I will find out very soon. Can’t imagine that it’s not going to do very well, but we will put it through the paces to make 100% sure
Ok, let us know about,i live in tampa bay and i want to go on the gulf.
Can you link two power poles together to run off one remote?
Yes
Fully loaded like that were you able to use those sidekick wheels or is it to heavy where the screws may pull out?
You can use them according to Native. They have the tracks specifically set up for it
Chad thanks for a great showing of this kayak you nailed it but I have one question will 2 torqeedo batterie fit in the box behind the seat? I have one on pre order and I want to put both of my torqeedo batterie there so do you think they both will fit thanks
Yes it will
@ChadHooverFishing great. I can't wait to get mine. I know what parts I will be taking off my P127 for this new beast. the only thing that has me a little concerned is the weight. Also, I did not know you took people out on the water. I mean, I seen you do it on your UA-cam channel, so now you have me thinking of doing this next spring or summer for vacation time
suggestion...i will put a prop ontop
Huh?
I've got a vibe shearwater and the features of this kayak are awesome. But that price wow that's rough. I thought my shearwater was high but man 3600 is a lot. Does that include a motor?
No, it just includes the pedal drive.
Awesome kayaks! I know the weight on the website says the weight it TBD, but do you have a guess one as to what the 10.5 weights?
Tx 12 will be around 10 lbs less than current Titan 13.5.. this is from Native rep who answered my question on their initial Titan X video with GB.. hope this helps
I hear what you are saying, but even the reps don’t really know until they finish rotomolding some and measuring thicknesses and then adjusting hull shot weight until they find the sweet spot
How much does it weigh?
However, I’m working with a company that will officially launch soon called OPS (Outdoor Product Solutions) that will offer a number of solutions similar to this
@ChadHooverFishing great I'll keep my eye out for I really want a center console for my 2 ff and a few other things
Hull speed is 1.4 x the square root of the waterline. 1.4 x 3.4=4.8 mph. To get a boat go faster then hull speed it would have to plane.
Does have spot lock
Spot lock is a feature of the motor, not the kayak
So fully loaded it’s 3600?
No. That’s the base price
That new Native seat looks rough...
