    @14:30 Keeping checking that through the season. My 5 system fell off and shorted out in the hull water in my Titan 12. Good build gentlemen.

    One thing i did on my kayak is ran a couple sections on pvc EMT pipe inside the hull. It paired with a fish tape make super simple work of running wires and cleans up the inside of the hull so you don't have loose wires running everywhere. The main reason i did this is because of my yakpower system. One day bobbing in some waves on a windy day I noticed a knocking/tapping noise, turned out to be the SAE connectors on my yakpower system tapping against the hull of the kayak. Conduit solved that problem. Fish can be very spookable and I wonder how many fish I spooked off with the tapping noise because since i added the conduit and stopped that tapping noise my time on the water to fish catch ratio has increased. Great install video. I am saving up now for a Titan X 12.5 to upgrade from my Ascend 128X so I'll be watching your install videos for tips. BTW, personally I believe the NAV button is intended for NAV (red/green) lights and the ⚓ (Anchor) button is intended for your stern "anchor" 360 light but, i digress. That's the plus of yakpower system, you can hook it up however you want.

    You should look into getting some fish tape sticks. They would be perfect for fishing wire through kayak hulls.

    I used a 4ft metal ruler that I have to push my wires. Did the same thing just tape it with electric tape. Worked great. I was only one person doing the set up. One of my favorite things is setting them up.

    I just bought the titanX 12.8 about an hour ago. Will be getting it delivered in 4-5 days from the store. Watching you guys to see what I want to do to it.

    Do you recommend strip lights or button lights for the bow?

      Strip. There will be a video coming soon on that.

    Great video again, enjoying your serious very much. For connecting the battery I'm pretty sure you should actually connect positive before negative, at least that's how marine boat batteries should be done. Wondering if the bucket still fits in there or does this make the bucket useless?

    • @UntamedOutdoorsmen
      @UntamedOutdoorsmen  11 місяців тому +2

      100% correct but in this scenario with such little voltage it’s not a big deal at all. The bucket still fits but we’re going to have to do a little cutting on the bucket lid to fit all the wiring.

    Forgot to ask a question. Would you guys do this system even if you could pick another system for free? I kind of want to do what you two are doing but I’m also wondering if there is something even better out there even if it’s more expensive.

      In my opinion for this particular kayak, this is the best option available.

    Would it be ok to run the power off my TM battery?

    • @UntamedOutdoorsmen
      @UntamedOutdoorsmen  11 місяців тому +1

      I’m gonna say no. You’ll have way too much power going through one battery and you’re much more likely for something to short out or a fuse to blow. Better to have two batteries one for accessories and one for the motor to keep all the power evenly distributed. Had an old friend of mine back in the day try this on his kayak and it left him on stuck on the beach more often then not lol.

    Great video guys…question….my understanding is when running battery wire for extended distances you need to use 8-10 gauge wire. I realize that your distance is not that long but the YakPower wire seems to be under rated. Do you feel it is okay?

    • @UntamedOutdoorsmen
      @UntamedOutdoorsmen  7 місяців тому

      @@cutley2b more than fine. The only time you need wire that large on a kayak is for a trolling motor. You never want to run a trolling motor off of this yakpower unit. This is used for light duty stuff like fish finders or lights. No heavy amps are being used. Running 8-10 ga wire when going a distance is not a universal rule.
