OMG I appeared on a Chad's video! woohooo! Just made it to the house, thank you both Chad and Austin for having me over! loved every minute! Next time remind me to take some left handle baitcasters!!!!!! lol
I kinda like the RVR myself. I'm like 10 yrs behind going to pick up a 2025 Native Propel 10 LTE in April ( before the Knuklhed series). The XTR has set the standard for a motorized able "fishing kayak". Like a Nucanoe but in the right direction. Chad ,there's nothing wrong with your mic or placement. Keep putting videos out
Im having trouble picking a kayak for south Louisiana inshore fishing. Lake Pontchartrain, bays and marsh areas. Am set on Bonafied and really looking towards the XTR. Would this be the best choice for the type of fishing I do?
I think so. The PWR would not be a bad choice either, but I think the XTR is ideal for inshore flats fishing and near shore fishing in saltwater. It may even be great for offshore, but I haven’t tested it in that environment yet, so I can’t speculate about its performance there, but I intend to find out as soon as I can.
Where do you get the side holders for the rods on shown this kayak? I have a Basshunter EX that I pond hop with, and those are what I've been looking for. 🍺🎣
The ones in the video come with the XTR but if you’re needing horizontal side storage Yak Attack also makes one similar called the SideStage, comes in three mounting options.
What kind of speeds are you seeing on the XTR? I've had an autopilot since their release and like many others i want more speed. For efficiency reasons, 80% throttle on ap120 fully rigged gets me from spot to spot at 3.6 on average. im buying a second kayak, xi3 up front to maintain gps lock but with nk300 on rear for speed. in my humble opinion there are really only a couple platforms that make this setup easy when thinking about battery placement and factory mounting plates. the XTR is at the top of my list but im worried it might not perform as well as some of the other options.
Can you opine on whether or not a new Xi3 is coming from Lowrance? Right now it seems the only option for a 36” shaft trolling motor is the powerpole (which i am considering for the XTR) but wonder if you think it will Have a competitor soon?
As far as I know, they announced that they will be offering replacements for all Motorguide products through the LOWRANCE brand, but there is no indication as to when those products will be available and what the product mix will look like.
I can also only speculate or assume that based on the popularity of the Xi3 (especially among kayak anglers) that there will be something comparable in capabilities, configuration and price point.
Can’t wait to see the full rig vid of the XTR. Curious to see how u were able to put ur blackpak pro over the battery (lip) compartment behind the tank well.
Mic has to go…. Quick question. In your pros and cons video you mentioned you wished the tank well on the XTR went all the way back without the battery compartment. In this video it looks like you have your backpack sitting all the way back in the tank well. Is it just on top of the battery compartment or am i not seeing it right? Thank you again.
All of them are currently in development by both Big Adventures and Ketch. Gonna check with One Objective to see what their timeline is for accessories.
Mic has got to go-not on the hat or holding it! Thanks for the comparison between the PWR and the XTR kayaks. Yes, people, they are kayaks, and yes, a kayak is a boat. When I am ready for the jump to motorized, it will be one of those 2 rigs.
Might as well clip to your nose 🤣😂🤣😂 Shirt collar . Thanks for sharing. I will buy the XTR in the near future (Will need a trailer, that’s for sure. 😎🤙
Although I don't mind this one being used I still think there should be a line drawn at some point for tournaments. Tons of different ways that could be done. Maybe even a limit to total wattage limit for all batteries on the kayak.
I love that new yak but I couldn’t buy then a motor and wires and all that. I did on the other hand get a pretty good deal on an old town AP 120 so I’ll use that for a few years. On the mic I’d rather it be on a hat than in a hand. On the shirt is fine as long as there isn’t stuff rubbing against it.
I would say yes to it gotta go but what I’d be worried about is if you put it on your shirt or life jacket I’d be worried about accidentally hitting it and falls off with out you knowing if it’s in your hat you could potentially feel it moving off your hat or notice it but whatever make the audio the best is what I would do !
I always wondering what you guys gonna do if you accidentally flip those big heavy kayak with full gear. Seem everyone tried to avoid that question. Can you make a demonstration video on how you gonna deal with that?
I’ve done a video before that demonstrates this and the process will work with any kayak on the market. I will be doing an updated video soon and will use the XTR to further demonstrate this.
That’s a negative on clippin the mic to the hat, but I must say that DJI mic has really good audio. I’m liking the XTR more every time I see it. Might have to jump from the Titan X over to the XTR lol
For an interview, a microphone should be positioned close to the person's mouth, typically around the chin area, angled slightly upwards, aiming to capture their voice clearly while minimizing background noise, so I vote for mic to be below the chin.
Probably not what you want to hear, but doesn’t bother me where the mic is located as long as it’s not in an area that has muffled audio or constant “bumping the mic” sound.😂
First off if its not for you shut up and move on! Respectfully! 2nd both boats look sick! If i had the means i would be in a PWR and have that joint KITTED! To the gills! In due time…
Not sure where you got that info. It was behind because of the hurricane, but now it is available and has sold out almost as soon as they have become available. Also, pre-orders are the best that most retailers have experienced.
It doesn’t if you take the seat off. But I’ve truck topped it on a lifted truck with a truck rack and did it as worst case scenario and it was still pretty easy. Here is a video of it. ua-cam.com/video/UjwYasZWGZk/v-deo.htmlsi=87cAqpAxRs3TUhyL
@ChadHooverFishing yes i saw the video earlier, I understand but you also gata understand that you're a big guy (tall) in that video you mentioned the top of the rack on your truck is like 8'2" and you reached it over your head while casually resting. The celings in most houses are 8' and not many can casually reach up and touch it. Not dogging on you boss man im just saying to be a little more realistic. I just read that it is 150 pounds just the hull, thats close to what most of us weigh let alone lifting it way above our heads. Its an amazing boat and most of us would like to have it but most of us arent strong and tall like you with a truck and a rack. Most roof toppers only roof top because they dont have a truck bed or trailer ie. they have cars and suvs, sitting even a 150 kayak on the roof of a car will not go over well. With all due respect Im just saying dont mislead us. Alot of us regard you highly and have learned alot from you.

Appreciate you watching brother!
I love that the XTR has rod trays on each side. I love having my rods horizontal. And the seat! Love that seat upright like that!
Excellent video. Glad the videos are starting to come back out again. Definitely like the.
Horizontal rod storage option..
got to go, good video for a guy who got an XTR today. looking forward to your rigging out videos.
I don't care where the mic is as long as the audio is good and consistent. The worst is when volume keeps going up and down in a video.
I look forward to your advanced rigging videos. Thanks for the informative video kayak, Samaria
You bet!

@@ChadHooverFishing thank you. I would think that the Xi3 is one of the motorguide brand’s best sellers.
I just love my transducer pod so much that I don’t think I can move away from it
I feel ya on that one but I’m open to new things!
@ChadHooverfishing do you feel like you will end up using that boat more then your PWR?
Can’t wait to see the full rig vid of the XTR. Curious to see how u were able to put ur blackpak pro over the battery (lip) compartment behind the tank well.
I mounted two Yak Attack Rod holders low enough on the front side to kinda act like stilts.
I like the pwr for 2 reasons: the foot rudder that it comes with and price. Hat mic can stay or go. Who cares as long as the audio is good 😂 imo.
Fair enough!
I don't care about mic placement. I love the hat, Geaux Saints.
WHO DAT!!

Yes it is on top of the battery compartment. I took two yak attack rod holders and mounted them low enough to holder the front end up level.
@ thank you
Any news on when we will see a motor plate for bow mount and a storage bin for the xtr.
All of them are currently in development by both Big Adventures and Ketch. Gonna check with One Objective to see what their timeline is for accessories.

I’m in Love ❤❤❤❤!
Dose it have a rudder and foot steering?
It will have an after market rudder available soon and has the ability to foot-steer, just need to install the steering lines.
@ thank you
The XTR reminds me of a NuCanoe on steroids - but down to the bone, would be curious to see a side by side comparison
I just got my OT PDL 106 and added the bixpy but now feels like old tech with all these new kayaks.
I always wondering what you guys gonna do if you accidentally flip those big heavy kayak with full gear. Seem everyone tried to avoid that question. Can you make a demonstration video on how you gonna deal with that?

They have definitely been game changer in the content creation world!
As long you don't sound like Axel Rose ....I'm good
No, the mic has got to go 🤣 The XTR looks so sweet. I'm still rocking my SS127 but maybe I'll upgrade at some point.
👊🏻
Sure do miss story time with Chad. Hope you and family are doing well.
It's definitely got to go 😂. Doesn't sound as good, or clear. It sounded best where you had it the whole episode on your shirt!
My thoughts exactly
you need to hang that mic off of a dope Flavor Flav chain!
Chad, Stupid is as stupid does! The mic has to come off the hat. Keep making great videos!
Ha!! Thank you

I think it sounds better on your chest and looks better
I may look better with some on the hat - women with ponytails. On shirt for guys .
No got to go 😅
No mic on the hat….i gotta have room for my hat bill hook. lol
Truth
First off if its not for you shut up and move on! Respectfully! 2nd both boats look sick! If i had the means i would be in a PWR and have that joint KITTED! To the gills! In due time…
The mic on the hat is duuuummmmbbbb!!!! It's gotta go!!!
Everyone to their own on mic placement but it does look weird on the hat. So I would say no on the hat.
Thanks
How can the XTR be one of the most popular kayaks on the market when it's not readily available yet????
Not sure where you got that info. It was behind because of the hurricane, but now it is available and has sold out almost as soon as they have become available. Also, pre-orders are the best that most retailers have experienced.
Yes the mic on the hat is silly.
👍
No… hell no mic gotta go! LMAOOOOOO Its made to be clipped to something but not the hat
That’s a definite no go with the mic…
No the mic has to go!
No mic on hats
No get rid of the mic on the hat
Car topping?! The thing weighs 170 pounds empty!?

Stupid is making a deal about mic placement!
Just tryna have some fun with y’all!🤷🏽

No
the mic needs to stay off of any type of hat
No looks Dumb as hell up there
