The joke being that Obama doesn't write his own speeches, thus his staffers will be writing a rant for him to deliver via teleprompter at the very same staff because they messed up his teleprompter at the family dinner. Literally self-authoring a roast about themselves.

The Onion does such a terrific job; not only at satire and making us laugh, but also in how they make things appear and sound like authentic news reports. They have it all so down-pat! Yes, they are very funny, but they are also very talented. If you were in another room and this came on TV, you'd think it was authentic ... that is of course until it progressed far enough to actually pick up on what was being said.
