- This is by far the best hud mod I have seen so far for Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. This hud mod resembles to the look and feel of the huf in the first trailer. The design is beautiful and it has a lot of detail.

Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is a game about stompy Mech action. You take command of a mercenary company and try to grow your income, salvage Mechs and hire Mechwarriors. The game includes a campaign with a vast storyline.
The gameplay is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story.

Text is blurry because the HUD is now a 3D object and is now affected by post processing effects, specifically TXAA. It's also the reason why particles leave ghost trails behind. switch to MSAA or FXAA to fix this.
I like how he used the MW4 icons for the weapons, they're simple and easy to understand. Also the game needs RTX and VR support.
Bogan Force I believe you can manually turn on the RTX functions manually in the engine.ini file. Look on the MechWarrior 5 subreddit for anything related to graphics tweaks, there should be a post telling you step-by-step how to enable the better graphics settings not included in stock game maximum settings.

murb ash Even the bobbing is often nowhere near synced to the ‘Mech’s actual movement, especially on the King Crab, Nightstar and a few others., and yet it can cause problems. I wish that PGI hadn’t animated the ‘Mechs to look so...unstable.
Hell yeah, i always loved the weapon icons in MW4
And the MW4 hud as well, don't know why people hated it but that hud was perfect ;)

Ah so thats why the cockpit looks a bit angled . I was wondering if it was a lack of polish or something. So, the actual cockpit is in a single eye of that Atlas, I never would have guessed that it was so huge.
When you changed the hud color it made it look like your medium laser wasn't destroyed anymore.

Hey bro, I really recommend you try out the MercTech mod, super awesome mod. Do be aware that it’ll conflict with any mods that use an in-game menu tab, so if you want to be able to adjust MercTech’s settings in game instead of just in the .ini file it creates make sure you load the mod later in the mod load order than the others.

So very sad this mod is not updated. I hate the current HUD and lack of zoom. I don't like the scaling as I have to play in zoom most of the time. Anyone know of mods like this that still work?

I love that 1mb download is considered slow. In Australia that's not too bad.
Thanks for the review! I actually think I will stick with the other enhanced hud mod. Not a fan of the weapons being all around. I get the idea of them being located where the weapon is, but I don't really want to get used to that.
Thats why this pretty hud was scrapped in favor for the a GOOD hud that isnt as sexy but is WAY more useful

When modders makes so much better HUD than the devs. Really, the vanilla HUD is so average and not practical.

@@WayneManor666 Lol maybe check your sense of ignorance? Do you not realize what a deadline is and how much work goes into a game like this? Piranha is not a massive company. They make games like this because its a passion but they have crunch times. The fact that they are working on enhancing features and fixing issues that exist should be enough. Modders typically have the time or do it out of passion for the project, at the end of the day, Piranha is a business supporting the developers to continue making these projects as well as their personal lives. Dont lump PGI in with the big wigs, it shows your entitlement.
except mw3 decades ago was done with all the depth and detail that this franchise deserves instead of this dumb garbage pos riding the battletech name for money and nothing else. Get off your knees mithril PGI doesn't need your grovel, they already have your money.

Why do none of the MechWarrior displays show 360 vision. They're very clear about the mechs being able to see 360 in the old books.
I think it's mostly because of how badly most folks suffer with fisheye lens effects. I'm kinda used to it as I dial my FOV *way* up for the additional field of view but 270 compressed in to 180 degrees is about as much as I can handle, 360 in that would be significantly worse. Also most don't have a triple monitor set up to use that sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great to have some form of expanded FOV (better sensors would also be nice, even just last known position rather than real time for when sensor lock is lost) but implementing it would be both a pain to do and there are simply so many other things I would consider to be more important to do first.
It would kill game performance. One way games keep the framerate up is not to render anything that's not on your screen. If it needed to render everything, it'd cut your framerate by a factor of 5 or so. IE, 50 FPS would drop to 10.

How sad is it that one of the best MWO comp players (NavidA1) is now having to fix PGI's other game?
He could leave the game unmodded and no one would be happy.

I think the Z001 part of the mod name is the load order so maybe change the numbers to Z001, Z002, etc.

Thank you, I will try the mod out. Have you noticed if any of the mods you have installed are affecting game reliability? I'm running the same mods as you and it seems the game crashes far more often. Could it be the patches instead? Anyone?
it has been updated as of this comment (on St Patrick's day Mar 17) to fix minor paperdoll lagging register of dmg.
I think this HUD could be very 'organic' if one were really the pilot. imagine being mech-specific, a familiarity developed with time; one learns to detect change/movement in periphery using splattervision. you know inner/outer circle locations with cooldown colors. if my life were in this mech I would appreciate the attn to detail.

The whole hardpoint system is arbitrary and designed to balance the game for multiplayer anyway.

Uh, no. It's a fix. The game was not designed to limit players like that. The company that made MW5 and MWO decided to "re-balance" a game that'd been balanced 20 years ago, for no real reason. Just like they added game mechanics that make it harder to kill things than it should be to lengthen gameplay, and made it so that 'legging' a mech would cost you salvage, yet destroying the body and risking a core det would somehow have a higher chance, even though you just destroyed roughly 50% of it's overall mass. The mod that un-nerfs their pointless weapon slots nerf isn't a cheat, it's a fix.
Is there a mod to fix the game UI, so it works more like MW4Mercs? Is there a mod that allows you to change basic graphics setting like Gamma, or even simple brightness? Is there a mod to actually make joysticks work properly?

They need to make a mod that brings the classic slots back but still get rid of the stupid weapon size slots. It works in Battletech and MWO why did they change it?!?!
there are mods for both of those already
It is a different time, in Battletech the clans invaded and brought technology in form of omni mechs, which allow for putting weapons anywhere
Looking by a ergonomic UI/UX view, the distributed weapon elements across the screen is not a very wise decision for fast reading...

Agree, advanced zoom should have been implemented in the game, i hope that PGI will do it in the upcoming patch.
The only problem I would have with this is my paperdoll being on the right and not the left. That would throw me off quite a bit.
The addition of PGI's mod manager or something has broken all the HUD mods I have used by Navid_A1, the game now throws a fatal error when I try to use a hud mod including this one.
I knew something wasn't right. How do I change my company name and sigil?
The best HUD-Modification this game saw. And it pissed me off when it stopped working because of the major game update wich came with Heroes Of The Inner Sphere.
And the developer of the MOD seemed to be mighty pissed off aswell (reasonably) since he suspended working on the mod ever since.
Thats how developers show their respect to the community.
Late comment. But since mw5 releases on steam tomorrow the 27. On steam, gog and xb. Well I hope for once Navid brings his scale, hud mods unto steam workshop. Also I would Love to havethe hud mod in this video combined with the other enhanced hud mods HTAL bars. Maybe place them in bottom right somhow or top left. Added function to just have the option to toggle paperdoll and htal if its to cramped. Not least, dharpen up the blurs if not alredy updated to do so
I hope we get MW4:Mercs story remade in this game as a mod, then we can have modern graphics mixed with a good mercs game

hey guys, I bought this game on day 1, and I have both HOTAS and the thrustmaster Dual Joysticks setup and didnt want to experience it with a keyboard and mouse, or controller.. Anyways as we all know,
it lacked support for all this stuff, and the reddit workarounds were waaay too much shit for me to deal with at the time, and probably still.. Does this game finally have decent support forwhat should have been a Day 1 fucking thing? thanks
Mod is currently broken, crashes on game start.
Too bad this mod does not work anymore, since it is incompatible with the 3rd DLC and the author explained that the mod would have to be remade completely and that he does not have the time anymore to do this. A damn shame, since I've just started to play MW5 and never even had the chance to give it a try.
I really dislike the vanilla HUD, even more so since the the important informations like ammo count are _way_ too small for me and my bad eyesight. I honestly _hate_ it when game devs use such tiny fonts, would it be _so_ hard to think of people with bad eyesight? Anyway, does anyone know a mod that re-arranges the HUD like this mod?

How modders save a game, i mean completly vanilla the game looks kinda meh and the hud is very convinient, also the enemy spawns that they kinda plop into existence also solved by modders

When modders make a better game than the devs. Though one thing I would say is a negative is no contrast of colors between numbers and stuff. Everything being 1 color just makes it all blend together, not useful in the heat of hte moment to dig out the info you want.
Like sell MWO to modders and let them make a PVE MW.
The ONE paper doll change I would LOVE to see in a Mechwarrior game is having the armor NUMBER in the paper doll. The colors have always been ambiguous and kinda useless to me. ID rather know how much armor I actually have in actual hitpoints.
All I care about is a big tiddy mod for mechs; when it finally comes out, are you going to review it, Baradul?
Pirahna games you would think they could dev that but of course taking the bad examples set by Bethesda in the Fallout franchise. We wont do it so we'll be lazy and let the community fix it for us.
The worst part was they did. This was basically the hud from the initial reveal. Why they changed it I dont know.
@@Astro-Sloth because Piranha games could not organize a piss up in a brewery mate. Yeah everything about Merc5 is so disappointing for me. Like the rehashed the MWO engine. the NPC models and comms are terrible... Dont even get me started on the AI. Can a game dev studio seriously break ground and stop just doing the bare minimum to release a triple A title.
