I would say using an extension to create larger moves.
Having said that, how would we create something like a dolly zoom?
Maybe advise on getting solid parallax shots.
Putting it in terms of what you need to do as the camera man, and then what we will see in the final shot makes a huge difference.

Particularly liked the closing scene of the "professional" video. Kind of the opposite of a reveal, moving outward, the church being increasingly hidden behind the trees. The viewer immediately knows this journey is coming to an end. Great tips and very helpful.

I was Mister Clueless today shooting my first video without a gimbal or even a selfie stick holding and shaking the camera phone with my bare hand. I thought...no way will I post this on my new channel. I'm going to get some practice in first and learn some awesome moves from Learn Online Video. Count me as another subscriber...now hopefully one day I can look back and be amazed at far I've come along from day one. The fact I have taken the first step walking around filming while people look at me as what is this guy doing was the hardest part...kind of like stage fright while trying to talk to an audience of people without cutting a sweat and knowing what you are talking about. Well, we all have to start somewhere. Okay, enough with my rambbling I really learned some great tips from this video...big thanks from across the pound. It's video practice time!! Let's go

Thank you again. You have a subscriber for life and I recommend all my friends and family to your videos!

As usual, your tips are beautifully and simply explained and demonstrated. 👏 I especially like the way that using a pole can add so much interest and perspective to a shot. On a recent trip, where I was traveling extremely light, I was able to achieve this with only a simple selfie stick attached to my iPhone, but I never would have thought to do that without having seen your previous video on gimbal moves. I have to be honest, both edits are good in their own ways, the beginner is like a vlog style and the pro is obviously cinematic, so I might use both ways in different situations, I really love your tips, I recently purchased the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 and it dramatically improved my level of photography and cinematography!! I'm so happy!! Thank you so much!! :)

Correction: the beginner is only good for when you know better but want to use it for emphasis. Its like using bad vocabulary in a speech for emphasis or because you want to make a point. Still, its never good.

A few months later a home invasion destroyed my other DSLR. Damm those guys they took only cash away but destroyed my DSLR smashing it into the ground .
Been away from it since then. I enjoy travel vlogs. Of late been enjoying a few Pakistani and Indian travel and food vloggers. I cant escape the realisation that some of them have deep background in either audio visual media or serious video skills.

I’ve been trying to figure out if I needed a gimbal. I don’t record outdoors much but I also never bothered with YouTubing until I grabbed a MacBook. I feel like buying one of these will lead me to outdoor recording! Thank you for this video! God bless

Hey @Treborray, a gimbal is a very useful tool for filmmaking and not only helps get much smoother shots but also enables you to get much more creative when on shoots. if there is one piece of kit I would invest in after a camera it would be a gimbal. A microphone and audio is also important but it depends on what you are filming. I quite often shoot using just a smartphone and Gimble and then add music and sound effects for the audio. Hope this helps.
