This is actually one of my all time favorite songs, I like the 80s, even if I'm only 19 years old. The 80s are really cool and I like this stuff more than the stuff today.
I just heard this song for the first time ever about 2 weeks ago and I’m hooked. I can’t believe this isn’t one of those songs you hear on 80’s playlists. This is a gem.
A Nile Rodgers and Bernie Edwards classic. Carly Simon provides the haunting lyrics and the tune is sprinkled with Rodgers and Edwards magic. An understated funky track that is timeless 👌 🎉
Chic really had the knack of making songs that have that nostalgia thing. Its a great skill. Even when they were brand new these songs had that feeling
People are being very critical of this video but I personally think it's great. It's got a really nice natural feel to it, something really relaxing about watching it.
This song makes me realize that living in the 21rst century is much more complicated than back in the day!!!!.....Such a simple song but sooooo catchy!
I can just vaguely remember when this song was released in August '82 A really catchy song 🎵 👌 Carly Simon had some great songs throughout the 70s and 80s A pity that we didn't hear more of her music in the 90s and the 2000s ❤❤🎉🎉 A classic 80s masterpiece ✨️ 👌 There is a longer version of this song as well ❤❤🎉🎉
I've always liked Carly Simon but I've never heard of this song until today! This song is so cool and sounds so ahead of its time! I can't wait to play this in my car later on Spotify!☺☺ Update: I played this in my car when driving home from college and it sounds the best with the windows down! Lol☺☺
when you have such a great song , do you need some "special" video ? many average hits were provided with expensive videos to make the audience forget about poor music .... I won't give any names ......
This is actually a very deep and melancholic song. Love is reall really hard! It does not come easy and even when it comes, it can drain us so much. Love can be painful. La di da di da I think reffers to how indifferent our partners can be to our suffering at times. The reggae feeling makes us kind of shrug it all off and chill, that's how life is!
This song is one of the soundtracks of my childhood. I just recalled and searched and "voila!" found the song. Thank you for such a beautiful song. GOD bless you.🙏🏽
It just came into my head out of the blue. All these songs heard on the radio must be stored in the brain, especially because of being repetitive. It takes 6 repetitions of something to commit it to long term memory. A brilliant emotional track by a talented artist.
I listened to this again (never heard the song until recently). Sounds like a heartbreak hotel type of relationship. I have been married to only one woman in my life and now almost 38 years by the grace of God and what she calls tough love (she needs it with me) :). We have grown children (married), grandchildren and enjoy the time together and with family.
A decade after No Secrets Carly got the hottest production team on the planet to bring her up to date. The result is an absolute dancefloor banger!! I'm betting this is still played at parties worldwide every weekend!!
every time I hear Bernie's bass on this I love it all over again. It's so incredibly sparing... it's all about what he _doesn't_ play.. but each note he hits is this tiny shard of incredible funkiness.. his bass just hops and skips into the tiny gaps and gives the whole track this marvelous human feel. Genius
When I listen this song, brings back good and better memories than today. I remember old cars, cassetes, trains, good brands, more security, etc. Now, we have technology but nothing change this 80's magic time.
Will always remind me of Dec 1982. I had just graduated college and took a little holiday to Europe. I was flying back to Chicago - Sabena Airlines I remember now defunct - and I was listening to this song on the headphones on the flight. I immediately loved the song. Will always remind me of that special time in my life and of that flight. I later found it was supposed to be in the movie "Soup for One" but didn't make it into the film but it was on the soundtrack album. Don't know why.

I heard for the first time this week in a hotel that was playing late 80s hits on MTV, drunk and became obsessed
I heard this song first time in 2016. Amazing! 😂❤
1982 but was well ahead of its time, most 90s ravers will love this as a wind-down track, absolute masterpiece!
There is SO much music that is just perfect for MDMA that lies outside the rave genre, this is a perfect example.
i was in this video age 10 i. am from England on holiday there at the time

Wow...did not knew that...used to love it since I was a teenager in 1983

Agreed! Videos were in their infancy at this point, so give it a break. I also like the spontaneity of it. And beer drinking!
It's a brilliant video!

I’ve never heard of this artist before until today this song is cool as ice
Omg you have sooo much to discover!!
Glad you found this gem
the reason this song is such a bangor is due to the producer Nile Rogers from Chic. he produced so many bangors
Really? Bloody hell...they did not come much bigger than Carly Simon in the 1970's!
Shes an amazing singer/songwriter, take a look at Carole King too if you dont know her, 2 of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century
What a beautiful song and video! And what a pity the videotape is broken at 1:15. On the other hand, it adds an additional 80s touch to it.
It does add a a bit og nostalgia to it video break in it

Well we are still talking about it in 2023 so that must mean it's a classic!
Who the hell is Carlyle?
Believe it or not this is massive during the Acid house days in the UK warehouse raves. Early morning tunes! Such a good song!
used to dance to this last ..tune of the morning!!
Theres a good garage sample of it, any acid house tracks sample it?
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards gave this such timeless quality.
Yes.
Definitely!!!
Of course. I was wondering why this song sounds so different and groovy beyond her other stuff. Nile Rodgers truly has the Midas touch.
