@Games Tell Stories I always laughed when I saw the old one (not because of you) I sometimes get ads for dubious lawyers looking to sue car companies and they used the same office on green screen and I was like wow, says a lot about them that they're using your office 😂
Great tips, thanks! For shortlisted players I think there's an option for keeping scout reports up to date, have you ever used that? Doesn't sound like it would give much control over who/how often so haven't tried it, I just manually re-scout all shortlisted players over X days old... PS Daramy always blows up in my saves, hope you manage to get him!
Yes, when I shorlist players I make sure they're scouted constantly, but that's only when I'm really interested and trying to decide between two or three options for one position. Didn't get daramy sadly
These are great tips but heavily weighted toward playing in England/UK. For those countries who don't need to worry about work permits (what, most of the rest of the world?), that's a concern that widens your talent pool immensely. Also, playing a player (even as a reserve) will boost his market value, often enough to grab the attention of the idiot clubs with deep pockets (PSG, Man City, Man United, Newcastle, etc). In my Schalke save, we are the new Bayern (3 titles in a row and counting) and I sell two players a season (minimum) to those clubs. My transfer budget is $315m with no sugar daddy, we make 200m+ per season in profit and by the end of this season, our bank balance should tick over a billion (currently at $957m). PSG paid me $106m for a midfielder (Fabian Rieder) that currently sits in their B team. I bought him from Young Boys for $22m. This was AFTER the spent $261m on Frenkie de Jong (FFP is a joke). This happens every season to some degree. I love two footed players at the back and on the wings since I like to sow chaos in opposing defenses by having them switch sides. My IWs are Andreas Schjelderup(L) and Ritsu Doan(R). I've been turning down $90m+ offers from the idiot clubs for two seasons now. Andy cost me $8.75m and Doan was $8.5m. Now I'm concerned though because an actual intelligent team is interested in Doan: Real Madrid. Moneyball is relatively easy outside of England (where every player is overvalued).
Hey Kirk, Great advice but I started unemployed and got a job in lower league in wales… got promoted but with the wage constraints and being semi-pro even your plan didn’t work
As a semi-pro club, I would avoid all costs that are not necessary. No own youth, no own 2nd team and no staff for both areas. Do not scout players, set the scout budget to zero, offer trial training for 2 weeks, so that the characteristics can be found out. If you have one or two scouts, they should generate team reports of bigger clubs 1 to 2 levels above you. There you will get one or the other hint which player you can loan.
I agree completely with almost all of that! The only difference for me would be not going down the loan route so I'm building up my own players. Getting any kind of transfer fee at that level can be massive so I try to prioritise my own signings instead to increase their value wherever possible. Well worth scouting amateur or out of contract players in the divisions around you though.
Thank you! It doesn't work every time but as I'm focusing on finances I try to at least get a player's wages off the books by sending them out on loan if no one wants to buy them. There comes a point when saving on their wages is better than getting a transfer fee for them as well, so if someone is running down their contract and not playing i'll sometimes offer them out for free. That's the least ideal option though given i want to maximise their value!
Loving the new office!
I'm particularly fond of the view 😀

I've seen the exact same one too and was livid. I never gave them permission to use my office 🤣
Opened my eyes to moneyball scouting. Huge thanks!
You're very welcome, thanks for watching and I hope it helps 😊
Nice clean video and well explained
Thank you
Cheers for the views!
amazing video, very useful stuff!
Glad to hear it, thanks for watching 🙂

That's an amazing turnaround for Schalke!
Hey Kirk,
Great advice but I started unemployed and got a job in lower league in wales… got promoted but with the wage constraints and being semi-pro even your plan didn’t work
When semi pro the biggest advice I can give is bring in as many triallists as you can all the time! Absolute gold to be found that way

Hey Kirk, great video and loving series in general! Do you have any tips on getting rid of unwanted players?
Thank you! It doesn't work every time but as I'm focusing on finances I try to at least get a player's wages off the books by sending them out on loan if no one wants to buy them. When I try to use the player search view it says "This view in file ..... is not valid for the current panel" what should I do?
I might have mislabelled that, sorry! Should work in the scouted players view
@@gamestellstories Yea I didn't see that you have to do that in the scouted players view 😅 Now it works thanks!
Another banger.
Thank you kindly 🙂
My scouts are useless, I just search stick attributes I like for that position then scout them
Also a valid technique!
Goldmine 👍
