If players are asking for better coaching staff it actually means you need to sign coaches with better reputations it ignores attributes which can be annoying if you have a cracking backroom but they're not world renowned. If you have spaces left and someone is asking for better quality coaching go and sign the best reputation coaches you can get for your club. Other than that great video matey.
An important note on the consistency is it doesn't effect physical attributes , I think Techincal is the most, A lower league player with good pace, strength and stamina will be still do well even if inconsistent. basically if your fast and strong your still fast and strong lol
On the Squad screen, you can right-click a player's name and on the drop-down go to squad, agreed playing time, and adjust from there.

i hope you're not too overawed by it all. i got back into fm 18 after about 15 years away from cm 02/03 and I've never looked back.
once you master the tricks you can make the game as hard or as easy as you like
When i sign a player i always look at the scout report to see if the scout says if he is consistent or not and that could actually result in me signing them or not as i don't use the ingame editor to see all that stuff. These videos can be so helpful for new player even long term players tbf

Turns out I've been playing it fairly correctly. But I still have to remind myself constantly to not get fixed too much about the star rating.
I like the potential star rating to give me an idea of how much room someone has to improve.
The thing that gets me frustrates is when you go on a run where you consistently out xG teams but constantly lose or draw. That said, thats kind of real life accurate as an Everton fan this year so far sigh

Just started an Everton save where I have the same issue. I'm playing better than the opposition but always get a loss or a draw. Many injuries but my goodness, Maupay is not finishing his chances

Regarding the board requests, I have yet to have one approved they say no every time even if I try to negotiate as you demonstrated. I've made 3 requests per week for the whole season and still not been approved. The only thing they have approved is to send someone on coaching course
Do a better job and the more they like you, the more likely they are to do what you want.

Knew most about the stars. Had a 2-star player grow to 3.5 stars from a great patch of form, and he started getting pushy about a new contract with a higher role. Form is also a fairly strong factor here. Didn't know that being homegrown would increase the star rating though.
Bonus tip for changing playing time: If it doesn't say that the player might get annoyed, you know that the player is cool with it and it can be done freely.
I accidentally clicked "don't show this message again" in the move to affiliate. The defaults suck, so how do I make that one reappear?
Knew all of these, aside from a few details. I guess I've been watching too many FM Scout and Zealand videos.
There is an option in settings to reset all the hide messages in settings - preferences>interface to reset warning messages

When u try to change the playing time through the happiness tab the game will actually tell you if the player will be fine with the new role or if he will get upset
I am pretty new player and I am outside home, but I just realized that skins are probably not only "skins" like different colors or pictures (which I ignored so far), but it also reorganize or give you more information on some screens :). I am not sure (as i am not home) but i think you have some additional cool information on overview player screen (which normalny are in different sections like overall report with some tabs or better way of choosing roles). I will try to customize mine when I return home, but not sure if it will be possible within standard skin (maybe yes as you can sometimes customize thing by yourself with this arrows)? Can i ask for your skin name or if it is available somewhere?

By changing Duk's playing time to "fringe" instead of "emergency backup" you raised his expectations of playing time to "fringe", because you just told him he's a fringe player.
Just something to note.
Know about the star ratings but I do like having my starting XI have 3+ minimum stars just because it looks nice to me 😂

I remember on my Stuttgardt save, i sigend a player who looked awesome at lb. When he arrived his star rating was 2 stars and rest of my team was at least 3 and a hlf. Can't remember his name, although i can go look if anyone is bothered. Anyway, he wa splayer of the season in Bundesliga for 2 years straight, while only ever getting his star rating to 3 max in the end. Paqerata was his name, or something like that. Was aplayer id never heard of before

The way I see it, the star ratings are comparing your players to everyone in the league and not only your own club. If it was only your own club, then someone at the club will have to be 5 stars as they will be the benchmark that everyone else is rated against. When I don't have a 5 star player in my team, I understand it as because there are better players in the league that are the benchmark for the best players.
If you equest smthing from the boad do the cost get removed from the Transfer budget?
no, it's removed from the "Overall Balance"

That never happens. The summer update will only become available in FM24

Some helpful stuff there, and some good points in the comments too. I think also the star ratings are based on what the coach deems to be the players' best position and role, which aren't necessarily what you're using that player as. I could be wrong or out of date on that. The star rating also doesn't reflect how well a player performs, just the attributes. Use your own judgement, the assistant manager isn't the boss of you!

By playing them in those same positions game after game
Videos that explains what do you do wrong in football manager , suggest to have in-game editor and see the hidden attributes… but I thought all the idea of the game it’s just to play and see by yourself and experience the players without see the hidden attributes… in game editor just destroy the romance of the game
I'm playing 20 years and I've never used an editor..don't see the fun in that, I just assign my scouts with different tasks and make sure my scouts are well able for the assignments..this has always worked for me
Has anyone had the issue of players losing fatigue even when they are set to rest? If so whats the solution?
