  • Quinn Nelson of Snazzy Labs shows you the best hidden macOS features that even longtime power users of OS X don't know!
    Terminal Commands:
Tip 3: defaults write com.apple.SoftwareUpdate ScheduleFrequency -int 1
Tip 5: defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool FALSE
Tip 7: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow LoginwindowText “ENTER HERE”
(NOTE: you will have to enter your computer's admin password after this command-the password won't look like it is being entered, but it is-hit "return" once you type password to run command)

For the last tip, you don't need a Terminal Command. Just open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > And there is an option for Show a message when the screen is locked. "Set lock message".

But the terminal method is cooler....... Gives you that programmer vibes......
JK, that option is much easier, and I didn't knew that! Thanks!

I love that you actually show a few tips I *didn't* know! Too many vids rehash the same (often cool but useless) Mac tricks. You gave lots of practical tools for increasing productivity, like the accents on letters, the emoji window, and the F5 key giving options for completing words when unsure how to spell them. Very helpful! Thanks!

I was a windows and android user since Smartphones arrived. Once the big iPhone (6+) came out, I got one and was in love! I used to have to carry external batteries and a charger for my note 2,3. Once I got the 6+ I never had battery issues again. I had a note pro 12.2 tablet I bought in 2014. It is basically useless now because it’s still stuck on lollipop. However, the iPad Air 2 I got in 2014 is running on ios12.4 and is just as fast as my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 on the same firmware. Then...... the most amazing thing, I got a used 2013 iMac with the I-7, 32gigs ram and a 256 ssd. All upgrades from a store here. I will NEVER use a windows pc again! The difference is just ridiculous. I recently tried to install an app on my gf’s windows 10 laptop and I literally wanted to throw it out the window! Took 45 minutes to update before I could do anything at all. After about 3 hours it was finally running ok. NEVER AGAIN! Macs are just far superior.
