- In this video we get started on part 1 of the Goosky RS7 build! So far the heli is going together great and the fit and finish is impressive. Stay tuned for part 2 where we get the servos mounted and tail assembly built.
Yes we changed servos, now running Torq 2208 on cyclic and Torq a0704T on tail.

I've been discovering the helico for 2 years and the editing part is so exciting
it a great hobby!
Nice piece of kit. I find building helis is very therapeutic.
I find repairing them therapeutic, lucky I crash monthly 😁
So far, the quality of this kit is very surprising and impressive! I love building and fixing! Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to video and I could just enjoy the Build lol
Looks like a really nice kit, I'm an align guy myself. I'm super tempted to pick up one of these birds.
It is extremely impressive the quality, fit in finish, machining! Is all impressive especially for a company’s first 700 size machine. It is Night/Day different than Align.
Just stumbled on this video ABSOLUTELY AWESOME thank you for taking the time to make this video and I’m assuming the rest of the videos on this total Helicopter build. Very informative.
Thank you! I greatly appreciate that. I’m glad the video was helpful. Part 2 was just put out yesterday and I’m working on the last part right now witch wiring and finishing touches.
cant wait to see number 2 video
Thank you! Working on it now!
Another great JW build. :) Thanks bro! I dont even have room big enough to fly this monster but it's cool anyways. Also on my 420 after rebuilding, tearing apart, adjusting, governor, tweaks and all i FINALLY have the wag out of my 420. Running SPIRIT GT and has a ever so slight one when just hovering at 2400 rpm. Its all good but gotta say this damn machine is very finicky.
Also something that seemed to help a lot was applying a bit of silicon grease to each ball end on tail before snapping ball link on.
What flybarless unit are you flying with on your 420?

Thank you! I greatly appreciate it. Wow! I’m glad you finally got that solved. It’s crazy that you had so much trouble with yours. I built 28 of them now and I’ve only ever had one that gave me a little bit of Tailwag issue, which was resolved within the first two days. I’m glad you’re is flying!
Nice kit!!!! Can't wait for part 2!
Thank you! Working on it as we speak!
Awesome, hope to see one soon for real.
Very impressive kit! I was thoroughly surprised by the quality of the parts and machining.
This RS7 is a nice looking machine for sure but here in Germany it is exactly the same price as the Raw 700. At that point i don't see why I would get this one... Old style single stage gearing vs a more modern design and SAB reputation. Sure 15mm main shaft but for what? It is proven that 12mm is enough. The tb70 is at least significantly cheaper than the SAB...Great video tho as always 👌
Let's see what the OMP M7 pricing will look like later in 2024...
Definitely don’t forget the balls!
Never! Forget about the balls
Great bit of kit, Jeff will you be reviewing the steam ak700 / omp m7?
Yes it is! I plan on doing a Steam AK700 sooner or later. I would definitely like to buy a M7 as well
Jeff I have a motor and before buying rs7 I need your confirmation
800MX (440KV / 4530) Brushless Motor
Input Voltage: 12S
Max Continuous Current: 100A/200A(2sec)
Max Output Power: 4440W/8800W(2sec)
KV Value: 440KV
Stator Dimension: 4530
Stator Arms: 12
Magnet Poles: 10
Dimension: Spindle 6x56.7x94.5mm
Weight: 508g
So the biggest issue with that motor (and the one I’m using) is KV. The RS7 needs a motor around 525kv because of the gearing. There is only two pinion options. 11t and 12t, depending on your wanted head speed it will be extremely difficult to get that on a 440kv on 12s. I’m running 500kv with a 12t pinion and 2100 RPM is my max on 12s. Now if you run 14s and a 12t pinion you will be better. But you need a 525kv or 550kv and 55mm shaft.
@@westhobbiesrc8051I got u
Thanks
Omp m7 coms with motor for 100$ more than rs7
But I don’t have good experience with m4 max
Brand new in the box had several parts manufacturer defective
@WestHobbiesRC 🙏 🙏 🙏 Dont tell people to use they cheap a** drivers as turning tools. I know... you know... not everyone knows... luv yo work bruv!
Thank you for your videos! What are the main parameters you set in the Castle ESC?
Thank you for watching! So I run stock setting other than the governor witch I turn the gain down and set my ratio and head speed.
Nice heli, great job as always, is that 15mm main shaft? Looks very stiff frame, i wonder what will be weight of finished heli without batteries.
Thank you! I great appreciate it! Yes it is! 15 mm mainshaft and 8 mm tail shaft. It’s a very beefy kit. the frame sides are around 2 mm I believe? I’ll have to double check that. But it is very stiff and feels solid in your hands. I’ll get an all out weight (no battery and battery) when the model is done.
goosky rs7 build part 2 ???
It will be out Monday, I’m finish it up now!
No ball bearing races on the head?
Expert, how do you compare Goosky and Goblin helis of the same size?
Nothing beats a SAB heli. Goosky makes a nice model but it does not compare to a SAB RAW or Kraken.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 quality or design wise? Or every aspect?
Those bolts look a stair case above the rest in the quality department just judging from the video!
I am getting lost with all these 700 scale helicopters. Amongst TB70, SAB Raw 700, SAB Raw 700 Piuma, OMP M7, Goosky RS7, which one would you recommend to start with? Without forgetting the outsider Steam AK700Pro... Costwise the TB70 combo (super or top), all-in-all, is still the most affordable
Just got my RS7 kit in the manual it says to use 600 Retaining Compound on bearings etc, but on your build video i dont see that (only blue locktite) im i missing something?
Can list where you got the electronics
So unfortunately, the motor and I am using a walker made by any 4525 or 4530 525-550kv with a 55mm shaft will work great, full size servos all the way around and do you want a 200 amp ESC like the hobby wing 260 is perfect
Stop 🛑 I want one 😢. Just kidding, but I do want one.
I can’t speak on flight performance, yet! but on quality it is really good! Very impressive especially for their first 700 size machine. You would definitely enjoy the build and the model.
hi can u help me with the motor on the goosky rs7 that which motor shaft length i have to choose 55mm or 35 mm and whts the diffrence i choose one over another
@@goobisoft4873 hello, you need a 55mm length. The shaft needs to be long to go through the pinion and bearing block.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 thnx very much for helping me I was very confused needed to order that motor with the correct size shaft
@@goobisoft4873 you’re welcome! Glad to help
