Clicked it in idle up 2 and 10 seconds later elevator servo glitched and smacked hard. First time was tail servo and last crash was left side aileron servo. I stuck it in a corner and quickly remembered while all of my other helicopters are nitro. When it's my fault it's not so bad but when it's something stupid you can't control it hurts lol
So no backup power device on the heli? I never takeoff without powering on my scorpion bug and if it happens to forget I surely curse myself for doing so. Maybe it's time to put an UltraGuard on that nice build, could save the day one day. Nice save btw, I am absolutely surprised there was no tail damage.
I’ve been flying nitro helicopters for over 25 years and never needed one before lol this is the very first time I have ever lost a helicopter due to complete power loss. Battery back up could’ve definitely of saved the helicopter but no matter how much redundancy you have stuff can always fail. It definitely worth having it
Can’t see how battery backup would help? On electric the motor would shut down (low power cutoff) wouldn’t you need alarm or telemetry for heads up?
@@nigelthompson874 I mainly use backup in the event of total power loss, so I don't personally need telemetry for the backup bug, I'm happy enough to have some degree of control for an autorotation at the last moment. There's a nice device called XBuzzer XGuard Sonic, that thing outputs 100dB and you definitely gonna hear it when backup power has taken over.
The famous chicken dance
The loved chicken dance!
you will be back
Yes definitely!
Excelente control, pero desafortunadamente, falló la electrónica! Saludos!
Freaking gravity , sorry bout that brother .
Gravity will always come up to smack you.
Dang thats hard to watch But it's why we fly RC - no one gets hurt in a crash.
Very hard to watch! Especially when the model is not yours. But best part about helis! They can be rebuilt to brand new!
Sure hate to hear it...
It hurts the wallet and pride...
Didn't do as much damage as I would have thought...
Your the Man
WestHobbiesRc
Not really a chicken dance. More like a worm dance. Dang...
It was digging a hole
Ouch that hurt's. Great helicopter to fly, luckily most in this hobby is fixable.
Best part about helicopters they can always be rebuilt to brand new!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 that's why I like helicopters more then fixes wing. Crash, fix, fly!. With fixed wing a crash is less forgiving. I learned a lot from your video's. Thank you 👍
@@Reinierbaasrc me too! While I fixed many many crashed fix wing and made them brand new again it’s a whole lot harder and time consuming. With helis you just replace what you need to and back to brand new! Thank you! I glad you have learned a lot from the channel. Thank you for watching!
Some suggest power backup but you would need telemetry or once again an onboard alarm (strobe maybe) to indicate switch over. Electric easy, the motor suits down on low 🤓power
Battery back up is a great thing to have. In 28 years this is the first time I’ve ever had that happen in thousands of helis. Telemetry is setup on the model but one cell went completely dead so as soon as the alarm went off I lost all power.
Makes me wince when a a stunning heli goes in like that but these things happen
looks like you lost orientation and hit throttle hold
Oh no!
Unfortunately happens to everyone.
Oh man, I sure hate to see that.... Sucks when your not even doing hard smack and one goes in..
It does suck! Especially when they crash and there’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t control it you can’t do nothing but watch!
Damn that's sad. 😢😢
Unfortunately it happens!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 yeah. I hope it can get back to the air soon
👍😉
Happens to us all
Dang ! That sux
Yea it does!
That sucks man
Yes it does!
that would be awsome if it had satilite stream
Confused. Зарулился.😮
Was polluting and making terrible noise so was not a loss imho. Time to move to electric, , 😅
@@Jackolivierbo never! I love electric and own many electric helis but I’ll never not have nitro!
I understand. I felt the same with my rc cars … then one day that was that. Was fed up 😅
Surprised by the lack of damage with that hit, head on into the ground.
Me too! I was absolutely amazed!
@Rcaddictionmania well tomorrow I shall be maiden flying my blade 230s and trex 470, will be my first time so hopefully they come back in once piece.
@Rcaddictionmania I hope so, it all looks good.
Well just to report back, maiden flights were great, the 470 was so stable in the air but the 230 had a fair bit of tail wag, wether that was due to battery being too tight I don't know. Also on the 470 I have soft start on the align esc but sometimes it would spin up like it was on airplane mode and then would start normally after flicking switches and resetting the throttle back to 0.
They still make gas powered heli’s.? Lol.
Yea they make gas Heli, this one is nitro but you can still buy new models both gas and nitro.
That was really HARD to watch.
Yes it was!
Chicken Dance
These Helis have too many points of failure for my budget.
Jeff, I want to donate my Blade 360 CFX. I am not a bot, or a scammer. You can see part of my early fleet on page 18 of the October 2009 issue of RC Heli mag. If you like I can give you my e-mail, or a phone number. Sorry about your mishap. Used to call that a “funky chicken “
Hey Paul! Thank you! That would be awesome. That is one model I do not own and would like to. You can send me a email at westhobbiesrc@hotmail.com and I can send you my address from there. Greatly appreciate that! Out of 25 years of Nitro flying that is only my second chicken dance lol
Kobe
Too bad
That’s what they make parts for! Rebuild and keep flying!
God bless the ashes of the VISA Card
Wasn’t your fault. Some one probably turned up the wifi!
Lol unfortunately it was a bad battery.
If you don't want the thing I will take it? Why destroy the thing?
huh? how is having a battery go dead destroying it? lol
Like putting an expensive toy in the hands of a child who doesn't know what it's for...
😂😂 that’s exactly it!
Geees at least it’s not a total lost, but she hit the found hard. Guess you got lucky in a way. Look forward to 2.0🫡
Best part about helicopters is no matter how bad the crash they can always be rebuilt to brand new!
