5 years low carb and 2 years carnivore. Removing grains and sugars have literally transformed my life. It’s incredible how once you feed your body what it needs and instead of simple what you want is life altering. Down 55 pounds, off 6 meds and have reversed several conditions. Food is the ultimate medicine.

I find repetitive eating so peaceful. I eat two meals a day, both meals are burger patties but they are seasoned differently, with a little mayo and it keeps my mind calm. If I start eating a variety of foods, I get more and more cravings.

Honestly, with all due respect. Living on two hamburger patties from Mc Donalds, a steak and Diet Coke is something that I can't fathom. Not ever tasting a piece of fruit a vegetable or eliminating cheese so that a person can weigh 114 lbs makes me feel there is something deeper going on. It's called balance. Diet Coke is one of the worst things you can put into your body, I know you have heard this 100 times and Mc Donalds hamburger is probably one of the worst "meats" you can eat. I can see eating it on occasion but not daily..
I guess to each their own.....

It’s not “so that a person can weigh 114 pounds”. If you listen closely, around 22-24 minutes she mentions all the ways that eating other foods made her life miserable. This way of eating is what gives her any measure of health and joy. She had daily pain, exhaustion and IBS. Sounds like it has very little to do with weight! If you want to understand, at least listen to what she’s saying. Or even watch her other videos about this topic.

This is truly disturbing. I hope many people take to heart that Lisa is not a nutritionist. She says she does not do weight training or regular exercise--she probably really couldn’t with such a low calorie intake. So with her age, menopause has to be taking a toll on her muscle tone. Does this bother any one else?

I totally get you want to feel the best you can and eat what works for you. And yes, agree, clothes do fit better when not having that extra "fluff". What I dont get is the daily weighting? Why? As long as one feel good about oneself and everything feels fine, the weight of the day should be totally irrelevant. I havent owned a scale in thirty years, but I am very thorough with what I eat and being healthy, I am fit & slim, but to me, the actual weight is nothing I focus on at all.

@nancycy9039 Thank you Nancy. However I honestly just have a hard time understanding why the weighting. What does that add to being healthy and feel good about yourself? I am all for taking good care of yourself, but can't "support" a behavior that is strongly associated with a serious illness amongst, especially young girls, controlling their weight rigorously. Ever heard of "leading by example"? But that's me, you do you.

These “smart scales” can be highly inaccurate. Case in point, mine tells me my body fat is 33%. I got a DexaScan (the golden standard for body analysis) and it’s actually 14.2%! You can rely on the weight being accurate.

    • @anniesimone

Right. I remember once at the dr's office and he had this kind of scale, and me too had a body fat of 30%!..And I am slim & quite fit, so I was like what?! The dr even admitted it wasn't very accurate at all. So I don't get the point using it, because it won't tell you the right numbers. You need to do the Dexa or such for an accurate view on things.

I agree repetitive eating works! I’m 56 made it through menopause- that was tough. I recently lost 30 pounds by not snacking and only eating 2 meals a day. I am not brave enough to try carnivore - yet. But I honestly think of one day trying it. I too love all your videos- you and I have the same edgy style. Keep it up!

    • @anniesimone
      @anniesimone 15 годин тому

I eat two meals too. I have actually done so most of my life. I am superhungry at breakfast and eat quite a lot, then I am not hungry at all at lunch, and then I eat a normal dinner, mostly meat or fish with loads of greens. I have about the same weight I had when I was twenty, I am 59 now. So, I think if we listen to our bodies, eat pretty normal food, (but not processed or junk, but clean food) when hungry, we stay at a healthy weight. And of course not having the food as some form of treat, snacking all the time, I really don't think special diets are necessary, unless you have issues with your gut.

Lisa, I know this video was hard to post, I’m so glad you did though. I had no idea you were carnivore when I started following you. I knew I liked your style when I recently started following you in 12/23. Throughout the year I noticed you made several carnivore references…then I knew you were my cup of tea! Carnivore is a hard concept if you’re not struggling. I was always small framed but my weight started creeping up with menopause to 131lbs. Nobody could tell the difference but me. I was starving and none of my old tricks would work. Steak & Butter Gall popped up one day and it clicked. I kept at it no matter what..because I felt and was sleeping better. 6 months later the weight was off & I was down to 120lbs. Right now I’m I need to reign it back in and get away from the Halloween candy! But I’m going to try switching from ribeye to filet. I only eat 2 meals a day & no snacking. I love having 2 McD patties while out on the road too. I know this is boring to my husband but it’s so freeing not to stress & plan meals. No hours of cooking & shopping. I’m so full, content & satisfied. Thank you again for sharing this video with everyone. ❤

Yes, we are all so different and I love how empowering it feels to find what works for you. I have experimented with all kinds of diets and right now I am doing a version of Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride's GAPS diet. The one that is mostly animal based with some Non starchy veg and plenty of fermented foods. I took way too many antibiotics in my life so really needed to work on leaky gut type issues that weren't even in my gut but I have come to understand that all disease begins in the gut and having the right microbiome is everything. I find it fascinating. If you like that kind of thing, I recommend reading her books or watching her interviews on UA-cam. Her and microbiome specialist Mary Ruddick who cured her extreme illnesses on all soup GAPS diet. At 64, I am feeling the best I have ever felt both mentally and physically. Same with my husband. Such a blessing. Wishing all extreme good health!!!

It affecting my bowel movements negatively and I did not feel well. I missed fruit and veg but I never had a bad impact of eating them like you did. My mum is now eating the same and she no longer has Diabetes 2. Being completely honest my initial goal was good health but now it's for that still and in addition for animal welfare.I guess I'm saying, you have to find something that suits you, your body, your lifestyle and your beliefs and decide what risks you are willing to take e.g. taking drugs for weight loss for some being an example. Its your body, your life and your decision. Thankyou for your update. You seem to love the impact of the carnivore diet, you take regular health checks so keep doing you!❤

I wish I could get into this pillow but I cannot get comfortable. Also the seam marks my face on the fitted pillow case. How does this not happen to anyone else. I keep trying to use it. The seams thing though really bothers me. Any secrets from users? ❤

Lisa I saw your video on the carnivore diet. I am a 68-year-old woman who have tried all kinds of diets and eating plans, I have high blood pressure, add cholesterol, back pain and knee pains, shots did not help me, for a little while then all the pain came back again, I would like to try your carnivore plan. I want to feel better and healthy and lose weight too, I weigh 185 I want to be able to get to 150 and feel healthy to wear clothes I can feel better about myself in them.

Thanks for sharing. All very interesting. And I agree, each person’s journey is different and you have found that this works for you. As an “over 50 person” also, I totally relate. I am 5’3” and about 110, but have been up in the 130’s before. We all know how we feel at our best. And like you, I feel so much better when I am a lower weight, watching what I eat, and committing myself to feeling and being better. So hats off to you for sharing your journey with all of us. It’s helpful.
