    Just got the Sebo E3. I was not sure if it would have enough power at 700 watts. Power and suction are not a problem. I really like this vacuum. Always been a fan of the ET-1 power head. I have tested it against other power heads and it beats out a lot of the competition especially when it comes to edge cleaning. I have found it easier to push and maneuver compared to the Miele S236 power head. The Sebo's wand is also lighter. Personally, I like having the dusting tool attached to the wand because I use the dusting tool a lot. It is a little tricky getting the upholstery tool out, but once you learn how it goes it is no problem. The E3 is super quiet. When I have the power head on I can't hear the vacuum. Really good design and great quality. Thank you Sebo and thanks for doing a review on it.

    There are a lot of features on the Sebo that are cleverly designed. The pleated design of the secondary filtration on the Meile is superior and gives far more surface area than the Sebo single surface bag. Based on the results of your particle analyzer , the Meile also has a finer mesh and reduces the particulates to zero. Superior filtration alone is worth the extra money to me.
    I finally retired our first Meile after 24 years and purchased another one just like it. They are awesome machines.

      I've had my Miele S528 for 21 years and it's still as good as new. Crazy. Do you notice any qualitative difference between the new Miele's and the one you bought 24 years ago? I 'think' my S528 weighs 16 pounds and newer C3 machines are 13 pounds? Three pounds makes a difference for the better but I'm not sure there is any qualitative difference between old Miele's and new. What's your opinion?

    I looked at the miele machine and was ready to purchase. However, I changed to the sebo. I talked to my local vacume store about repair costs regarding the power head, they informed me that the miele power head requires an annual cleaning maintenance. Not at a reasonable price because of how complicated their 236 power head is. The sebo power head much less complicated and neede less maintenance time. Also bags and filters less cost than for miele.

Sadly, Sebo has nothing for cleaning ceiling fans or the top of bookcases or shelves. When you're having a difficult time making up your mind on which vacuum to purchase; the Sebo D4, or the Miele HomeCare C3 Powerline with the SEB236 powerhead, even though there's absolutely no carpeting in your 300 square foot apartment, you already have a perfectly good, working Electrolux Silverado Deluxe with all the attachments, and your bank account dictates that you can barely afford a Starbucks coffee.

  • @jaywalkra
    @jaywalkra 7 років тому +12

    Nice to see someone who knows a thing or two about vacuums. For carpet usage, Sebo ET-1 powerhead trumps whatever PN Miele has to offer. Cheaper and more serviceable - one handed brushroll removal! For bare floors, Miele wins with the parquet twister head which really is a no brainer (no idea why other brands don't offer the same Wesselwerk OEM head). That's how I ended up buying a Sebo Felix upright in addition to my existing Miele S8 (C3) canister. Interesting you mentioned about the 3D bag.
    I thought I was the only one, but the way the current 3D bags are sealed at the sides has reduced its capacity compared to the previous HyClean and Airclean bags. Having said that, a Miele with a HEPA filter is pretty much the only consumer vacuum guaranteed to emit 0 particles. With Miele's bags, I can vacuum up broken pieces of glass and not worry. I don't have the same confidence that Sebo's could hold up just as well.

    I like my vacuums to have a headlight. No headlight is a deal breaker for me. If a $225.00 Bissell is capable of having LED headlights then there's no excuse or reason for a $900.00 Sebo to be without that feature. The Miele has better filtration AND a headlight (like all modern vacuum cleaners SHOULD have), so I'd definitely go with the Miele.

      Wait a couple years and you'd find it hard to find parts for the Bissell. Sebo don't change their vacuums a lot, thus you can still get parts for their ancient machines directly from them. The light will be nice but you'd have to wait for a new update.

    Just purchased Sebo e3. Can’t wait for it to arrive. My parents bought me a Hoover power drive and I loved it for many years till it tanked. Bought a kenmore elite. Awkward at best annoyingly so. I switch to crevice and such often. The Hoover power was easy and smooth. They don’t make them anymore. The Kenmore elite. Heavy without the power train of my old Hoover. It broke after 2 years and I’m glad. If you link the telescopic attachment to the hose be careful cause you will move the rediculous slide to where it won’t suck. No joke. It happens even if you want it too or not. No lock. So Compared to Hoover power drive with easiest took s let up I mean like 2 steps done. This is awful. I use the hose a lot so this is negative 2 stars. Otherwise powerful and a closed hepa filtration I’d you can remember to close that stupid shaft which by the way is not just that n the attachment it’s on the hose. It was a while before I noticed the damn thing I was open all the time every time I was vacuuming. Rediculous design. Minus 2 suction great. Powerful and a fully closed hepa filtration is the only upside. The downside you are probably never working the unit with the closed system. Unless you check ever time. I truly have grown to hate the machine. It’s heavy. The hose is short even if telescopic and sealing issues. The dirt sensor is a joke. This machine never should have scored so high in consumer reports. They clearly only measured power. All else fails badly.

    I wonder why Sebo doesn't switch to Hepa bags. I like Sebo as they don't churn out new models every other month like some brands (cough Dyson and Shark) and seem to care more about quality. I just wish they would get that filtering quality on par with Miele.

    While I question CRs ratings sometimes, especially when they don't unveil the Kenmore mask to reveal the true manufacturer, Sebo and Riccar tanked in the ratings. Miele Marin was at the top followed by several Kenmore, mostly made by Panasonic I believe. There are websites to figure it out. CR gave some Miele's lower ratings, which to me is very questionable, because they all have the same motor size and it's the accessories which vary from model to model, but which may be able to be swapped out. Some have Turbo suction activated brushes, which I'd think couldn't compare to their power motor electric brushes. It pays to research and hear from users, not just marketing and dealer pitches.

    Thank you for the comparison, it was very helpful. I currently own a Sebo X4 and have been very happy with it. The design, performance, and cost/availability of replacement parts (wear items, long term service items) has been great. I'm currently looking at buying a canister vac for my parents so I've been checking out local stores and gotten introduced to the Miele lineup. Can I ask you a dealer question? As a dealer, are you guys more incentivized to sell Miele vacuums over other brands like Sebo? As I made the rounds through local stores I've noticed that Miele is heavily pushed compared to other brands, and it makes me think there's more dealer margin on Miele compared to Sebo. I REALLY appreciate the engineering on my Sebo X4, but it seems like I'm the only one because all the stores are pushing me toward Miele. This video is the first time I've come across the Sebo canister and it looks like it might be a great option for me. My gut tells me the local push of Miele over Sebo is a financial driver more than a performance driver, but it would be really interesting to get your thoughts about it. If it's something you rather discuss in private, I can send over my email or phone. Thanks!

      Great question! So you'll find me miele pushed for a few reasons.
      Number one is training. It is much easier to train employees on Miele Vacuums.
      Number two is appearance.
      Number three brand presents of
      Miele as an international appliance manufacturer.
      Number 4 is Consumer Reports.
      Number Five Below has a wider range of price points.
      Number 6 residual business with Miele is higher among disposables and service sebo tend to be more customer-friendly to service.
      I hope that helps I would definitely take the sebo over the Miele . The only reason I would take a Miele over a sebo right now is that Miele has some good entry-level machines that are more economic. Mila also has some extreme filtration options for extreme allergies. Hope that helps feel free to message my Facebook page.

  • @jeffreyschleimer9498
    @jeffreyschleimer9498 4 роки тому +19

    You did the filtration test incorrectly. With the miele, you are measuring straight from the the filter. With the sebo, you are measuring after the foam bumper. Unfortunately however, it is almost impossible to measure the sebo after the filter because of its location. Both vacuums should get the same filtration rating. Just thought I'd bring that to you attention. Both are fantastic vacuums and will last more than 15 years when not completely abused.

    • @deurkl
      @deurkl 4 роки тому +2

      Jeffrey Schleimer The Miele lasting more than five years is highly unlikely. Failure rate on the Complete models is around 50% after only five years in Europe. I noticed many cases of leaking around the tube entrance, scratchy and squeaking floor tools (the combined parquet/carpet tool lasts usually about two years before the switch breaks), stuck wheels (especially the more fancy dynamic drive ones), broken handles (plastic rips), broken power cord systems (plastic tabs rip). It’s definitely not worth the money.

      FWIW, I think the filtration test was done correctly for a consumer of the vacuum. You want to know what’s actually coming back into the room not what technically the last foam filter filters out-if the air still has to go through something else to get into the room and that causes particulates to enter the room, then the consumer should know. It’s quite possible that both the Sebo and the Miele filter to 0 but then the added polyester airbelt causes some particulate to enter the room. The fact that miele is zero into the room is very impressive.
      Filtration is definitely a personal choice and I agree with Performance Reviews that the Sebo does a very good job. It’s just that I personally want filtration to 0 so I’m going to go with a Miele despite their downgrade in quality.
      Thank you! You are the only review that I’ve found that’s done an air quality test - and that’s exactly what I was looking for.
      Also, FWIW, Sebo’s website talks about optional HEPA filtration filters and bags (Sebo’s HEPA are 4 layer instead of 3). However it seems it’s only an option for the Airbelt K, which I saw Performance Reviews said was discontinued in 2017…I might have purchased Sebo and upgraded to HEPA if that was an option on the Sebo D3 Premium or the Sebo D4.

      long-standing pattern of insane tariffs on home appliances in the US. Also US market vacuums get a more powerful motor than in Europe, and a better warranty. But overall US public not really sufficiently aware of how much they're getting screwed; if they were I think there'd be political hell to pay. What's really ludicrous on vacuums is the price difference with Canada, which is particularly ridiculous as we're supposed to have a free trade zone with them, and they have the same motor, same warranty etc. as the US. But we can't import Canadian vacuums with the warranty, nor, it seems, can we import Canadian market Honda Civics with seat warmers at all. Then again they don't have access to US market camera gear with lower prices and more options for getting service or US market prescription eyeglasses that are like one-third the price of Canadian....it seems someone needs to figure out the meaning of free trade zones.
