Hands down the best vacuum I’ve own. I had a Dyson, then was persuaded to get a Shark… now I have the D4 and I love it. So much cleaner and much more versatile.
You've made a fantastic choice with the Sebo! As a vacuum geek & collector I have a preference towards Sebo over Miele simply because Sebo have always been a no nonsense manufacturer of truly professional vacuum cleaners, while Miele do make good vacuums they're more of a general household appliance brand.
The Miele (even with all the filtration) actually tests (at the nozzle) in a few tests and by published numbers (at the motor), slightly higher for water-lift & for CFM when compared to the Sebo. Any professional tests I have seen also tend to place their carpet deep cleaning performance a little higher than Sebo units. It probably doesn't make much of a difference, but I personally like that the Miele power heads have chevron shaped brush rolls directing dirt (or larger "bits" more likely to get flipped out of the roller on their journey) to the middle of the power head where the suction is, which helps ensure even suction on each end of the brush and also means vacuumed up stuff does not have to travel any more than 1/2 the length of the brushroll to be taken up into the hose (vs. having to travel most of the length from one side, the slightly weaker side, to the other before it goes into the hose with some other setups). To their credit, Sebo does typically design the shape of the compartment with the brushroll in such a way as to minimize airflow differences from end to end despite a slightly offset opening for the suction and a thus not being able to use a chevron shape/opting for the helix. I prefer the brush roll on/off being on the handle (for a number of reasons) of the Miele design as well. The Miele height adjustments being done by foot are also more convenient by my reckoning. All in all, I believe the Miele (with any electrified premium power head) to be the slightly superior canisters in most use scenarios. *BUT* and this is a very BIG one: Sebo designs absolutely & utterly destroy/obliterate Miele when it comes to user serviceability. It is not even remotely close here. Really, there is no way to overstate this part. Just about every part of a Sebo that is likely (and because it is a Sebo mostly unlikely) to need maintenance can be done by the user and typically with almost no effort at all. If something does go wrong with a Miele canister (esp. the electrified power heads), most users should just take it in and not attempt to do anything on their own. In fact, for replacing parts/servicing, I do not think anyone makes a more easily/readily serviceable vacuum than Sebo. This is funny since they are so unlikely to have anything go wrong anyway. Yes - I've owned multiple Sebos and I love them. And obviously love the bagged Miele canisters with the electrified power heads. I also really like Kirbys, but the Miele/Sebo products are much more convenient for everything other than vacuuming carpet (Kirbys can be scary good there with fine dust pickup though). One thing neither has (i don't think so anyway) is adjustable agitation for their power heads, just ON and OFF. For very sensitive rugs for example, where no agitator isn't good enough but simply ON agitation is too rough, an adjustable level of agitation would be great.
@@outerlimits7527 The only way I could think of a machine adjusting agitation is by suction level, which you can do with the pet adapter heads. However, at the main head I believe they are all belt driven to a certain speed and the best you can do to relieve agitation is by raising or lowering the roller. That being said, Ive never found a type of carpet in my house that either the Miele or Sebo "overagitate".
@@AlexandStuff - the popular, washable "Ruggable" area rugs warn users not to use an aggressive brush-roll agitator when cleaning their rugs. But Ruggables are popular as entryway rugs that get a lot of dirt from shoes just coming into the home. A manual height adjustment vacuum is useful for cleaning such a rug.
@@AlexandStuff Well Alex - I recently learned that Sebo might take the overall lead for me in the pick between the two now. They have begun adding brush roller switches to the handles of the E3 (don't know when it started). So now they are in the *same league* for cleaning as the Miele (as they were before). They have all the same convenience features BUT an easier suction adjustment. In terms of convenience the foot height adjustment of the Miele *is* more convenient BUT also a weak point that is much more prone to trouble (esp. on the extremely good SEB 228). The Sebo offers a soft brush roll for long/deep/delicate carpet and obviously switching is very easy with Sebo. For the durability, dependability, serviceability, and now increased usability, I believe that the tiny differences that honestly could swing either way in terms of performance are not enough for me to place Miele even on the same level. There is more to it than this, but that little change (adding the roller switch to the already well designed handle) was enough to make me reconsider my thoughts and focus on the real world differences, concede, and say that Sebo makes the better overall product ;-). I try to admit when I need to change my position. Thanks again for the video in the first place.

@@AlexandStuff same ! I’m having such a hard time finding a quality vacuum to help my daughter. She suffers from severe indoor/outdoor allergies. So reducing dust and pollen in the house is a must and I just want to make sure I get the best option for dust reduction. I vacuum daily and throughout the day (I have two small kids, a cat and a dog) with my Dyson stick vac and it sucks metaphorically not literally. It’s only good for small messes crackers/cereal/ dirt but useless for deep cleaning. ****SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!!******
I made the mistake of buying a Shark and one year later, it's dead. Started researching "real" vacuums and narrowed my decision down to Miele and Sebo. Your video was a great help, thank you. I purchased the Sebo E3 Premium canister and I'm very pleased.
Everyone has to start somewhere. I think most people get a shark without much research or don't want to make the investment in something that will last much longer. Hope you enjoy your sebo as much as I have been.

After having a Panasonic for 13 years and a Sanitaire for 8 years, I upgraded and got an X7 Premium a year ago. Have had nothing but great things to say about it and now I have 6 friends that want a Sebo after I let them borrow it a couple times. Two of them were shocked when they filled the bag completely and it was still working fine. One with small pebbles and corn (farmer and his family with some cabins for the farmhands) the other with pet hair (four people, five cats, one dog.) My local dealer has a new friend. 😂
@@Teeyah2 If you are in the US, the only real sucessor to them is Titan, which keeps making the older designs from Tacony, who got the design from Panasonic. Still, better off with Sebo anyhow.
I totally agree that it's disappointing to not have any led lighting on the unit. I think the Miele power head and handle are engineered and set up better as far as settings go. I like the lower profile of the sebo et-1 power brush. If the Miele c3 and sebo d4 could have a baby, it might be the best vacuum ever.
Honestly, after using it for as long as I have, I'm not missing the lights. I dont find myself vacuuming in any rooms without adequate lighting in them. I really like the ability to quickly remove the roller and clean it though. So Ill trade the lights for the ease of use.
I have a SEBO E3 for my 2 story home (one level carpet, one wood), and I absolutely love it! It’s actually a pleasure to use and I wouldn’t buy another brand in the future.
I been loving my D4. Got it last week, and your video helped me realize to go white opposed to the black. Although I love the aesthetics of black, the scratches would have likely upset me to watch them accumulate. I already have a black car to deal with 😂😂. Thanks for the insight!

@@NiranjanNanda hmmm I think I remember reading that before too… but my dealer was able to get me the full extended warranty. I’m not sure if it’s dealer specific or what… but they told me they had to fill the warranty stuff out themselves for it to be active. So they did it on my behalf, and I got an email back a few days after from Sebo with my warranty information with my serial number attached If you have a local dealer near you, go in and check with them. I bet they can do it as mine did for me
Great review. I love my D4 looks just like yours . Love the huge bag . My SEBO is about 4 years old . It scratches ez too but I don’t care what it looks like it’s just great .

I first got a Miele complete C3 power line after my Henry broke. Couldn’t find a new Henry with a decent suction and the power had dropped on newer models. Didn’t have a clue about hoovers but the Miele looked smart and had high wattage. WOW what a decent hoover the Miele was. Dream to use great power and suction was amazing. You couldn’t wait to do the cleaning again just to use the hoover. Sadly I didn’t use genuine bags and filters and it messed the machine up big time. Was hoovering the car and could smell burning. The Miele caught fire. Back to Henry as I got one second hand. It was made in 1998 and the power was good. I have gone back to a Miele c2 and always now use genuine bags and filters and it’s a dream to use. Argos is the best place for bags and filters. £26 for 8 bags and two sets of filters. Will last a year maybe longer. I will give Sebo a go when I next need a hoover.
Half of Miele's stuff is still made in Germany and the vacuums last at least 20 years If you use the on brand bags and filters. I have a Miele c1 turbo and it's amazing
I tried a Miele C1 that comes with a power nozzle and actually like it more than upright vacuums and the suction motor is so soft and pleasant. Sounds so much better than Dyson, Bissell, and Shark vacuums. When making the decision, I’ll try a Sebo air belt. I love supporting the working class people in other free countries too not just the United States.
I been thinking getting a canister vacuum as of late. Especaully get those hard to reach places that a regular vacuum cant reach like under certain furniture like bed or something too heavy to move. I was thinking ordering online but might check the local stores first. ^^ I currently have upright canister style one and few friends telling me to get a vacuum with bag since they say its easier to clean and it able to get more dust, fur, and other particles on rug and floor than upright. Least what they told me.
In addition to the features you pointed out on the Sebo, I like the diameter of the hose which lets more air flow through it; and just like you said , It has better vacuum power. Your demonstration was very helpful; thanks👍🏼

we compared the Miele c3 Marin vs Sebo and went with Miele. Miele had the real HEPA filter that puts out literally zero particles so better for allergies. Had same suction. Around here there are many Miele dealers and parts and service are easily available. I want to get a Lindhaus cordless upright next. Also, upgrading the house central vac to a MD. Enjoy
I do love the Miele c3 line of vacuums however I do want to mention, or clarify, that while Miele does indeed have HEPA filtration the model shown here, as well as other models that Sebo sells, utilize what is called an S class filter which is a European standard similar to HEPA. Taken from their site "The S-Class Filtration is a European standard, comparable to the popular North American term “HEPA”. However, unlike the HEPA standard where only the filter is expected to absorb 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, the S-Class Filtration standard can only be obtained by having met all three of the following criteria: 1) A three stage, hospital-grade filtration that filters 99.9% of particles down to 0.3 microns before exiting all SEBO vacuums 2) An electrostatic filter that uses statically charged microfibers 3) A completely sealed vacuum cleaner that does not leak air from any side I have and love using my Miele but wanted to make clear for those who are in the market for a good vacuum and are considering either of the 2 brands that both are outstanding vacuums but don't discount one over the other because of the filter used. Both are great for allergies and both use some of the best filters one could wish for in a vacuum.
@@-gray3472 just that in bottom line test of filtration you'll agree the Miele wins out in the end. Doesn't make the Sebo bad or anything its very close to the same, but the Miele does have better filtration. On a personal preferance note, we greatly prefer the look and design of the miele over the Sebo as well. Given that we often leave our canister out in the open unless we have scheduled company it a bit more pleasant to look at IMO.
Alex I love mine I've got the D4 canister and then I bought the commercial fibo upright The Windsor best vacuums I've ever bought and don't get me wrong I mean I have 2 commercial sanitaire upright vacuum and a Hoover caddy vac and in Eureka ultimate pet clean Bagel which I'm looking to get rid of all four of the vacuum
Enjoyed your video, I'm a vacuum collector and I think you made a great choice. I have a Miele straight suction canister, I have all hard floors so I don't need a power nozzle. I also have the Sebo D1, it's similar to the D4 but again it's a straight suction canister. I also have a Sebo Felix upright, it has a unique feature allowing you to remove the power head and attach a hard floor brush. I think Sebo is the best brand of vacuum you can get, they cost a bit more but they are very well made and should last for many years, you made a great choice.

Hi, I like the Felix but the hose looks so short. I like to use the crevice tool while I’m vacuuming, off and on. But I would need to use the extension tool. Is there a way to house the extended hose while vacuuming so I don’t have go keep detaching and reattaching while I vacuum? Also, is it appropriate for a 4000 sq ft house or should I use one of their x models?
It's crazy when you get a big box store vacuum vs a quality vacuum at a vacuum store.... Yes they are more expensive but they are so much better made......and bagged vacuums.. specifically vacuums that can use HEPA bags are so much better than dealing with bagless...I really like the way that canister looks.....
My dad’s first vacuum was a Miele and it lasted 20 years. I bought the top of the line one in 2003. It still works but I’ve started to notice the power would cut out when I move the handle. I think the electrical component in the electro handle is loose from years of use. I went to a vacuum store to purchase another Miele, but the sales person sounded like they were pro Sebo. He said Miele is not focusing on vacuums as they are producing other appliances so they are having more issues with their machines. This worried me so I decided to do some research. Every i found sounded great. I went to the store and tried the Sebo. Personally I feel the design was lackluster and construction did not feel as solid as the Miele. All the videos I have watched boasts great performance and easy maintenance, but it just doesn’t feel like a solid machine to cost as much as a Miele. I’m gonna choose the Miele based on my previous experience with the product and hope their quality is the same as it has been for me all these years.

I picked up a Sebo felix in replace of my shark apex and its night and day difference. I cannot believe I hadn't looked into real vacuums before. I got an 11 year warranty for my unit and paid $585 for it because of the trade in deal I got. Just unbelievable and couldn't say no to that deal.
The Sebo D4 costs 2x as much as Miele was charging for the S7/U1 uprights before Miele discontinued them. The D4 is a capable unit (except the difficulty of using that large thing for carpeted stairs ...), and SEBO's attention to maintainability is great for longevity, but it's quite an investment. (over $1400 in most shops in the USA)
The E3 has essentially the same motor (running at 50 watts less), the same (slightly less in some tests and slightly more in others airflow/suction) and being a newer design some additional refinements. It can also be had for under $1000 if you work with your local vac shop. No, it does not have the reach or the GIANT bags, but it is not a bad option for most who look at the D4.
Lol Love watching seeing how everyone mispronounces Miele it's Me La. I own 2 mieles and I love them the biggest determining factor is that is what my local dealer sells and services nearest sebo dealer is 45 miles away. Miele makes everything in Germany except the smaller C1 Compact canisters even the triflex is German made which tell me how many battery vacuums are made in a first world country other than the Riccar R10CV? Miele has never been known for uprights not that they're bad but for what they are and how much they charged for them there are certainly better offerings from the competition with better features, height adjusters and easier to use at the same price point or very close. For the record the reason your miele is hard to push is because you likely have a worn out brushroll...
Me personally I love miele and sebo, however I do find this test just a little unfair, because miele never made good uprights, they never had a good amount of cleaning performance, their canisters are way better, However a sebo was still a very good choice! Nice video.
I understand what you are saying. I did however compare the Miele canister to the Sebo when I was deciding. I ended up prefering the larger bag of the D4, easier roller cleaner head of the Sebo, and the cheaper cost of parts to repair if ever needed.
As a longtime vacuum cleaner collector and sales person your demo is apples and oranges. You should pit canister to canister, not upright to canister. A huge difference in cleaning ability, airflow and maneuverability.
When I was shopping, I was comparing canister to cansiter. I didnt have both on hand so I used my upright in place. I still prefered the benefits of the Sebo canister to the Miele canister. The larger bag, easier to clean head(removable brush), and lower maintenance costs were some of the main things that took me to the Sebo side. Since I have made this video I have maybe changed the bag twice. I dont have a big mess in my house and I only vacuum every Sunday. What I can say is that this is one of the quietest vacuums Ive ever tried. I can literally vacuum around my cat sleeping on the carpet and she doesnt even bat an eye or get scared. One of the main comparisons in the video was canister to upright in general, not necessarily brand to brand. Canister has been much easier to live with.
1) do you find the Sebo heavy? I’ve read that some people regret their canister vacuums and complain of heaviness lugging it or can’t get used to dragging it around while vacuuming. I’m a small not very strong female who finds uprights heavy to lift up the stairs. 2) I heard e3 is sufficient for houses under 3000 sq ft./larger houses. What made you choose the d4? Thanks in advance.
I personally dont find it heavy, but I would probably do the e3 if its a concern. Any canister in my opinion is going to be easier to lug up and down steps than an upright. I went for the D4 because it was the top model and had the largest capacity. I typically vacuum once a week in my 2100 sqft house and one bag lasted almost a year. That makes it extremely efficient and inexpensive to operate to me.
Had a Miele Orion canister vac, wasn't impressed with the cleaning/suction power at all. Use Roomba 980s for weekly vacuuming, and Kirby vacuums for spot cleaning and occasional deep cleaning.
Miele has a HEPA filter and SEBO only hospital grade filtration (only the K-series has HEPA option from Sebo). With a filtration test, Miele came out with zero particles and Sebo about 40 - 60 ppm. Also Miele has better bags them Sebo, because when you take out the bag from a Sebo canister, it will have some debris within the space where the bag is put in the canister. And the suction power is a bit better from Miele. If Sebo can give a HEPA filtration option and get better filtration bags, I would go for the Sebo. Because I like the guarantee terms and the hard/carpet floor heads better from Sebo. You can't compare the suction power between canister and upright. The motor in the canister is much more powerfull.
Honestly, if all that mattered was a HEPA filter, then a $39 dirt devil has one. Its not necessarily always about just one thing. Plus, there has to be a reason that most hospitals use the SEBO. Im sure the Miele is still a great canister vac, but Im more than satisfied with the time Ive had with my SEBO, and amount these bags can fill up with and still keep full suction.
Hi Alex. I had a Miele S5280 MedicAir Plus for 14 years. It just died. Then I had a Thomas and sent it back. I wanted a Sebo so bad but the Minister of Finance said I only have a budget for a Miele. I want a Sebo😭
I don't know where you are but here in the states they are both similarly priced. That being said, nothing wrong with the Miele. You'll get a Sebo one day 👍

However, I watch a channel called performancereviews and he took apart a lot of those water filtration vacuums and they look like an absolute mess. One more thing to weigh it down, spill somewhere, get moldy, clog up etc. They dont even seem to filter the air as well as HEPA filter vacuums. I trust what works and is proven.

Alex And Stuff, How long does the bag last, does it begin to have any oders? Does the canister tend to flip over, does it suffer from oversteer oscilations with the 4 wheel design?
I can't wait to move into a house me being in a small apartment I'm stuck with a Dyson V10 the constantly clogs and the filters stink even though I don't have any pets I think dysons are purposely designed to clog itself and the people that says otherwise lives in those showroom homes and they probably vacuumed like 12 times a day I can't wait to move into a house and get a proper bagged canister so that I don't have to deal with a bagless container and the cyclones full of micro particles again!

Ill be honest, after I did the review I basically completely forgot about any scratches. Its a vacuum, not a sports car. It is going to get scrapes and cuts. That being said, it still looks really good after all this time, and Ive dropped it down the steps and banged it into the corners of walls. Really impressed with how durable this thing is.
1. A vacuum that is HEPA compliant should emit no dust to speak of. On the other hand, if it generates an inappropriately aimed blast of wind, then it might stir up dust that may not settle in time for the vacuum to collect it. 2. I understand the simple physics of a bag design. Tell me how ANY bag design does not lose suction as it fills up. 3. I am not a fan of the construction quality of Dyson, but I do believe any such cyclonic design inherently maintains suction as it fills up. It is for that reason that dust collectors used in industrial applications (e.g., a wood shop) use cyclonic technology to drop dust into a trap before it gets anywhere close to the final stage HEPA filter that's proximate to the air exhaust port. 4. If you want something that truly traps fine dust, consider a Rainbox vacuum, the unique feature of which is it traps dust in a water bath, from which there is NO escape. It too never lost suction; the physics of its operation simply made that impossible. Its design permits one to pick up spills without fear of ruining the machine, or turning a dust bag into mud. I used to own one and only gave it up because my house cleaner just could wrap her head around something different. The regimen of pouring out its dirty water with each use had the side benefit of not creating a dark place in which germs can multiply until the bag is full and ready to toss. Use of water as the entrapment mechanism also means you never run out of bags. And water is essentially free.
@Alex and Stuff Thanks for the video! My wonderful Miele upright just bit the dust after I had it a long time! I loved it! I’m so sad I can’t get another one. I refuse to buy a cheap brand that will just break, so I’m looking at Sebo. Can you tell me why you chose a canister over another upright? I’m torn between the upright or canister. I mostly have hard floors.
For me it was a myriad of reasons. First, it's much easier to do my carpeted stairs with the canister. Second, less weight to push around since the hose is so long, the canister stays in place a lot of the time. Third, maintenance, when needed is much easier. That being said, I have mostly carpet in my house. If I had mostly wood floors I'd probably get something super light and easy like a stick vacuum. Check out a channel called vacuum wars, they do a lot of good testing for different floor types.
Cylinders are much more practical. You can do crevices, stairs and high areas so much more easily and you are only holding the hose, so it's much lighter to use. I've always found it odd why in the UK and America, upright vacuums are so popular. I guess that because British and American homes have far more carpets, but you can get cylinder vacuums with powered brushes as well, including SEBO hoovers
@@grassytramtracks - IMO, uprights are MUCH better for doing carpets, and they are easier to stow away when not in use. I never liked having to drag a canister around while trying not to trip over both a long cord and long hose. Our Miele S7/U1 upright has been great for over a decade, though it isn't that easy to repair, and now, parts are getting harder to find.
@dstealthsniper Its doing really well. I am very happy with my decision. It might sound crazy, but I have only changed the bags twice, they hold that much! Granted its just me in my house with a cat and I vacuum almost every Sunday. Its been great for hardwood floors and different styles of carpet. It holds up to being dragged around and bumped into everything lol.
I have have just bought a sebo professional d8 but the cord does not retract but have no idea how to manage the cable there doesnt seem to be any where to wind it do you know how would appreciate it ( it does show on the sebo channel wrapping it on the bottom but the picture is cut from the top so can't see how it wraps from the top)
I hate the spinning lights on the D4. It's like scratching on a chalkboard. Miele is to Apple as Sebo is to Android. I have a Miele S528 but if I bought a new vacuum today I'd get either the Sebo E3, the really stealthy but weird Airsign or, most likely, the Zero G. The Zero G is uglier than sin but the floating canister is a game changer.
If thats your biggest issue, I need to laugh. Honestly, in the year I have been using this thing, I never notice the light. Because the canister is always following behind, I dont see it. The vacuum has been working flawlessly and the size of the bag means hardly ever having to change it.
@@davidhunternyc1 Again, why would you be staring at the lights? Also, you dont need the D4 in a small apartment. If I didnt have a two story house with all carpet I probably wouldnt need a D4 also.
Do you have any objective proof that you can't get good HEPA filtered performance from a bagless vacuum? I have seen many objective tests that seem to show that perform every bit as well as the fancy bag ones.
I have no personal testing, but there are enough videos out there showing how dirty non-bagged vacuums are. I can also tell you that every local vacuum place I visited when trying to figure out what I wanted, all steered me away from a bagless when it came to cleanest air. Of course you could say they only want to sell bagged vacuums for the after sale of the bags, but I could buy them anywhere, not directly from that place. They also said, the emptying of the canister puts dirt back in the air and the "HEPA" filters on those might be good for the first few passes around the house but will clog up quick and need to be replaced more often. When that happens, the air will find a way to escape through any means possible not being completely sealed. This is why a bagged vacuum is superior and has multiple layers of filtration.
Bagged vacuums are by far more hygienic to dispose of the dust. No matter how careful with a bagless bin microscopic dust will adhere to the container even emptying indoors or outside and indoors the particles go into the air. You put that into the air when you switch the machine on. The filter seals are renewed whenever the filters are changed, with bag less these tend not to be replaced & these seals and filters lose efficiency everytime they are washed!!! Every Dyson gave me issues with filter leaking dust as they age. I prefer SEBO myself. They are cheaper here in UK.
@@blakaeg You do you. I think the world has gone crazy with marketing around specks of dust. We live in a dirty world of dirt, dust, microbes, bacteria, chemicals, and we do just fine. I think people fall for the marketing of can't have specks of dust in our house or a single bit of bacteria. I'm okay with bagless for all of the convenience. If a bagged vacuum is just plain better at vacuuming carpet or whatever, then that's different for me personally.
@@AlexandStuff The only part that matters with a filter is what gets past the initial pre motor filter and how good the seal is post motor, and the Miele version works just fine. If you liked bagged, that's fine, they are convenient. But nearly every bagless vac I've used only has motor carbon dust in the filter.
@@sunshinecycling I'd have to second this opinion - dust is all from humans, so it would be funny to complain about being allergic to other humans. That being said, cleaning out dirty prefilters is quite annoying, even if the one in the Miele is decent. To each their own, as one guy said, if you have more money than time, use bagged. If you have more time than money, go bagless. Course back in the day all vacuums were bagged, but the bag was reused. I think bagless is a step above that for sure.
Its the emptying of the dustbin that puts it all back in the air as well. But for not having carpets a vacuum like this would be unnecessary. I would probably get a cordless stickvac as well for convenience.
The comparison was more Sebo vs Miele. When I was doing my comparison shopping, it was against the C3. I just happened to have my old upright to stand in for the C3.
Miele vacuums are made in Germany but some of there older design vacuums are assembled in china out of German made parts. Miele also have there own factory in china and they control the quality of there products. I have Miele vacuums that are made in china and that are made in Germany and there is no difference
I think he's specifically talking about the blizzard and the boost bagless design one those are made cheaper especially the boost just by looking at them without even touching it you could tell it's made in a generic factory which generic common part designs the cyclone is very similar to shark where it's singular and fluffy dust will clog up very easily I think the bagged vacuums are still made either in Germany or advise by German inspectors in China but the bagless machines seems like a reworked shark the only unique thing they have is the filter The knocks the dust off itself if you use the comfort clean mode! Ibasiac even says they seem un Miele like and those are the only bagless vacuums that he openly seems frustrated with!

Regardless where a product is made/assembled, what truly counts are these factors: 1. Is the design good? 2. Is the factory set up to build a zero-defect product? Who designed the factory? 3. Is the quality assurance able to achieve the best output from the factory? 4. Are the raw materials that go into the product top notch? If you believe the Germans can crank out great products (their 20th-century autos certainly were great), then, as long as they oversee the building of the factory and likewise its product output, there is zero reason to question its country of manufacture.
@@josephgaviotaA legitimate question in the context of a vacuum video. Not wearing them indoors drastically reduces the accumulation of dirt on your floors. You can go barefoot, wear slippers, moccasins, or reserve a pair of shoes for indoors only. I do allow guests and repairmen to keep their footwear on. Give it a try. It makes a tremendous difference.

Thanks, Alex. I just bought a Sebo today. Model E3 (which I think is one below the model you have). The same thing, I was aiming for a Miele C3, the dealer said the Miele's have gone too "mainstream," trying to please the discount sales, and now about ⅔ is made in CHY-NAH. He says the Sebo is still made in Germany. So, Sebo it was.

Hands down the best vacuum I’ve own. I had a Dyson, then was persuaded to get a Shark… now I have the D4 and I love it. So much cleaner and much more versatile.
You've made a fantastic choice with the Sebo! As a vacuum geek & collector I have a preference towards Sebo over Miele simply because Sebo have always been a no nonsense manufacturer of truly professional vacuum cleaners, while Miele do make good vacuums they're more of a general household appliance brand.
I agree 100% with your analysis.
The Miele (even with all the filtration) actually tests (at the nozzle) in a few tests and by published numbers (at the motor), slightly higher for water-lift & for CFM when compared to the Sebo. Any professional tests I have seen also tend to place their carpet deep cleaning performance a little higher than Sebo units. It probably doesn't make much of a difference, but I personally like that the Miele power heads have chevron shaped brush rolls directing dirt (or larger "bits" more likely to get flipped out of the roller on their journey) to the middle of the power head where the suction is, which helps ensure even suction on each end of the brush and also means vacuumed up stuff does not have to travel any more than 1/2 the length of the brushroll to be taken up into the hose (vs. having to travel most of the length from one side, the slightly weaker side, to the other before it goes into the hose with some other setups). To their credit, Sebo does typically design the shape of the compartment with the brushroll in such a way as to minimize airflow differences from end to end despite a slightly offset opening for the suction and a thus not being able to use a chevron shape/opting for the helix. I prefer the brush roll on/off being on the handle (for a number of reasons) of the Miele design as well. The Miele height adjustments being done by foot are also more convenient by my reckoning. All in all, I believe the Miele (with any electrified premium power head) to be the slightly superior canisters in most use scenarios. *BUT* and this is a very BIG one: Sebo designs absolutely & utterly destroy/obliterate Miele when it comes to user serviceability. It is not even remotely close here. Really, there is no way to overstate this part. Just about every part of a Sebo that is likely (and because it is a Sebo mostly unlikely) to need maintenance can be done by the user and typically with almost no effort at all. If something does go wrong with a Miele canister (esp. the electrified power heads), most users should just take it in and not attempt to do anything on their own. In fact, for replacing parts/servicing, I do not think anyone makes a more easily/readily serviceable vacuum than Sebo. This is funny since they are so unlikely to have anything go wrong anyway. Yes - I've owned multiple Sebos and I love them. And obviously love the bagged Miele canisters with the electrified power heads. I also really like Kirbys, but the Miele/Sebo products are much more convenient for everything other than vacuuming carpet (Kirbys can be scary good there with fine dust pickup though). One thing neither has (i don't think so anyway) is adjustable agitation for their power heads, just ON and OFF. For very sensitive rugs for example, where no agitator isn't good enough but simply ON agitation is too rough, an adjustable level of agitation would be great.
@@outerlimits7527 The only way I could think of a machine adjusting agitation is by suction level, which you can do with the pet adapter heads. However, at the main head I believe they are all belt driven to a certain speed and the best you can do to relieve agitation is by raising or lowering the roller. That being said, Ive never found a type of carpet in my house that either the Miele or Sebo "overagitate".
@@AlexandStuff - the popular, washable "Ruggable" area rugs warn users not to use an aggressive brush-roll agitator when cleaning their rugs. But Ruggables are popular as entryway rugs that get a lot of dirt from shoes just coming into the home. A manual height adjustment vacuum is useful for cleaning such a rug.
@@AlexandStuff Well Alex - I recently learned that Sebo might take the overall lead for me in the pick between the two now. They have begun adding brush roller switches to the handles of the E3 (don't know when it started). So now they are in the *same league* for cleaning as the Miele (as they were before). They have all the same convenience features BUT an easier suction adjustment. In terms of convenience the foot height adjustment of the Miele *is* more convenient BUT also a weak point that is much more prone to trouble (esp. on the extremely good SEB 228). The Sebo offers a soft brush roll for long/deep/delicate carpet and obviously switching is very easy with Sebo. For the durability, dependability, serviceability, and now increased usability, I believe that the tiny differences that honestly could swing either way in terms of performance are not enough for me to place Miele even on the same level. There is more to it than this, but that little change (adding the roller switch to the already well designed handle) was enough to make me reconsider my thoughts and focus on the real world differences, concede, and say that Sebo makes the better overall product ;-). I try to admit when I need to change my position. Thanks again for the video in the first place.

So reducing dust and pollen in the house is a must and I just want to make sure I get the best option for dust reduction. I vacuum daily and throughout the day (I have two small kids, a cat and a dog) with my Dyson stick vac and it sucks metaphorically not literally. It’s only good for small messes crackers/cereal/ dirt but useless for deep cleaning. ****SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!!******
I made the mistake of buying a Shark and one year later, it's dead. Started researching "real" vacuums and narrowed my decision down to Miele and Sebo. Your video was a great help, thank you. I purchased the Sebo E3 Premium canister and I'm very pleased.
Everyone has to start somewhere. I think most people get a shark without much research or don't want to make the investment in something that will last much longer. Hope you enjoy your sebo as much as I have been.

The Miele extendable vac wand sold me. I’m tall and I love it. It’s also great for reaching ceilings (fans, vents, etc)
After having a Panasonic for 13 years and a Sanitaire for 8 years, I upgraded and got an X7 Premium a year ago. Have had nothing but great things to say about it and now I have 6 friends that want a Sebo after I let them borrow it a couple times. Two of them were shocked when they filled the bag completely and it was still working fine. One with small pebbles and corn (farmer and his family with some cabins for the farmhands) the other with pet hair (four people, five cats, one dog.) My local dealer has a new friend. 😂
I 've had my Panasonic about just as long and it's still working. Been researching and will probably get a Sebo. Not in a hurry though😊
@@Teeyah2 If you are in the US, the only real sucessor to them is Titan, which keeps making the older designs from Tacony, who got the design from Panasonic. Still, better off with Sebo anyhow.
I totally agree that it's disappointing to not have any led lighting on the unit. I think the Miele power head and handle are engineered and set up better as far as settings go. I like the lower profile of the sebo et-1 power brush. If the Miele c3 and sebo d4 could have a baby, it might be the best vacuum ever.
Honestly, after using it for as long as I have, I'm not missing the lights. I dont find myself vacuuming in any rooms without adequate lighting in them. I really like the ability to quickly remove the roller and clean it though. So Ill trade the lights for the ease of use.
I have a SEBO E3 for my 2 story home (one level carpet, one wood), and I absolutely love it! It’s actually a pleasure to use and I wouldn’t buy another brand in the future.

I been loving my D4. Got it last week, and your video helped me realize to go white opposed to the black. Although I love the aesthetics of black, the scratches would have likely upset me to watch them accumulate. I already have a black car to deal with 😂😂. Thanks for the insight!

I’m not sure if it’s dealer specific or what… but they told me they had to fill the warranty stuff out themselves for it to be active. So they did it on my behalf, and I got an email back a few days after from Sebo with my warranty information with my serial number attached
If you have a local dealer near you, go in and check with them. I bet they can do it as mine did for me

I first got a Miele complete C3 power line after my Henry broke. Couldn’t find a new Henry with a decent suction and the power had dropped on newer models. Didn’t have a clue about hoovers but the Miele looked smart and had high wattage. WOW what a decent hoover the Miele was. Dream to use great power and suction was amazing. You couldn’t wait to do the cleaning again just to use the hoover. Sadly I didn’t use genuine bags and filters and it messed the machine up big time. Was hoovering the car and could smell burning. The Miele caught fire.
Back to Henry as I got one second hand. It was made in 1998 and the power was good.
I have gone back to a Miele c2 and always now use genuine bags and filters and it’s a dream to use. Argos is the best place for bags and filters. £26 for 8 bags and two sets of filters. Will last a year maybe longer.
I will give Sebo a go when I next need a hoover.
At least with water lift, the henry with the 680 watt motor outperforms a Sebo on its highest level.
Half of Miele's stuff is still made in Germany and the vacuums last at least 20 years If you use the on brand bags and filters. I have a Miele c1 turbo and it's amazing
I tried a Miele C1 that comes with a power nozzle and actually like it more than upright vacuums and the suction motor is so soft and pleasant. Sounds so much better than Dyson, Bissell, and Shark vacuums. When making the decision, I’ll try a Sebo air belt. I love supporting the working class people in other free countries too not just the United States.

I been thinking getting a canister vacuum as of late. Especaully get those hard to reach places that a regular vacuum cant reach like under certain furniture like bed or something too heavy to move. I was thinking ordering online but might check the local stores first. ^^ I currently have upright canister style one and few friends telling me to get a vacuum with bag since they say its easier to clean and it able to get more dust, fur, and other particles on rug and floor than upright. Least what they told me.

we compared the Miele c3 Marin vs Sebo and went with Miele. Miele had the real HEPA filter that puts out literally zero particles so better for allergies. Had same suction. Around here there are many Miele dealers and parts and service are easily available. I want to get a Lindhaus cordless upright next. Also, upgrading the house central vac to a MD. Enjoy
I do love the Miele c3 line of vacuums however I do want to mention, or clarify, that while Miele does indeed have HEPA filtration the model shown here, as well as other models that Sebo sells, utilize what is called an S class filter which is a European standard similar to HEPA. Taken from their site "The S-Class Filtration is a European standard, comparable to the popular North American term “HEPA”. However, unlike the HEPA standard where only the filter is expected to absorb 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, the S-Class Filtration standard can only be obtained by having met all three of the following criteria:
1) A three stage, hospital-grade filtration that filters 99.9% of particles down to 0.3 microns before exiting all SEBO vacuums
2) An electrostatic filter that uses statically charged microfibers
3) A completely sealed vacuum cleaner that does not leak air from any side
I have and love using my Miele but wanted to make clear for those who are in the market for a good vacuum and are considering either of the 2 brands that both are outstanding vacuums but don't discount one over the other because of the filter used. Both are great for allergies and both use some of the best filters one could wish for in a vacuum.
@@-gray3472 just that in bottom line test of filtration you'll agree the Miele wins out in the end. Doesn't make the Sebo bad or anything its very close to the same, but the Miele does have better filtration. On a personal preferance note, we greatly prefer the look and design of the miele over the Sebo as well. Given that we often leave our canister out in the open unless we have scheduled company it a bit more pleasant to look at IMO.
Alex I love mine I've got the D4 canister and then I bought the commercial fibo upright The Windsor best vacuums I've ever bought and don't get me wrong I mean I have 2 commercial sanitaire upright vacuum and a Hoover caddy vac and in Eureka ultimate pet clean Bagel which I'm looking to get rid of all four of the vacuum
Enjoyed your video, I'm a vacuum collector and I think you made a great choice. I have a Miele straight suction canister, I have all hard floors so I don't need a power nozzle. I also have the Sebo D1, it's similar to the D4 but again it's a straight suction canister. I also have a Sebo Felix upright, it has a unique feature allowing you to remove the power head and attach a hard floor brush. I think Sebo is the best brand of vacuum you can get, they cost a bit more but they are very well made and should last for many years, you made a great choice.

Hi, I like the Felix but the hose looks so short. I like to use the crevice tool while I’m vacuuming, off and on. But I would need to use the extension tool. Is there a way to house the extended hose while vacuuming so I don’t have go keep detaching and reattaching while I vacuum? Also, is it appropriate for a 4000 sq ft house or should I use one of their x models?
It's crazy when you get a big box store vacuum vs a quality vacuum at a vacuum store.... Yes they are more expensive but they are so much better made......and bagged vacuums.. specifically vacuums that can use HEPA bags are so much better than dealing with bagless...I really like the way that canister looks.....
My dad’s first vacuum was a Miele and it lasted 20 years. I bought the top of the line one in 2003. It still works but I’ve started to notice the power would cut out when I move the handle. I think the electrical component in the electro handle is loose from years of use. I went to a vacuum store to purchase another Miele, but the sales person sounded like they were pro Sebo. He said Miele is not focusing on vacuums as they are producing other appliances so they are having more issues with their machines. This worried me so I decided to do some research. Every i found sounded great. I went to the store and tried the Sebo. Personally I feel the design was lackluster and construction did not feel as solid as the Miele. All the videos I have watched boasts great performance and easy maintenance, but it just doesn’t feel like a solid machine to cost as much as a Miele. I’m gonna choose the Miele based on my previous experience with the product and hope their quality is the same as it has been for me all these years.

Sebo seem to be one of the best range of vacumn cleaners as far as I can see at the moment. Those US only Riccar Vacumn cleaners look good too.
I picked up a Sebo felix in replace of my shark apex and its night and day difference. I cannot believe I hadn't looked into real vacuums before. I got an 11 year warranty for my unit and paid $585 for it because of the trade in deal I got. Just unbelievable and couldn't say no to that deal.

The Sebo D4 costs 2x as much as Miele was charging for the S7/U1 uprights before Miele discontinued them. The D4 is a capable unit (except the difficulty of using that large thing for carpeted stairs ...), and SEBO's attention to maintainability is great for longevity, but it's quite an investment. (over $1400 in most shops in the USA)
The E3 has essentially the same motor (running at 50 watts less), the same (slightly less in some tests and slightly more in others airflow/suction) and being a newer design some additional refinements. It can also be had for under $1000 if you work with your local vac shop. No, it does not have the reach or the GIANT bags, but it is not a bad option for most who look at the D4.
Lol Love watching seeing how everyone mispronounces Miele it's Me La. I own 2 mieles and I love them the biggest determining factor is that is what my local dealer sells and services nearest sebo dealer is 45 miles away. Miele makes everything in Germany except the smaller C1 Compact canisters even the triflex is German made which tell me how many battery vacuums are made in a first world country other than the Riccar R10CV? Miele has never been known for uprights not that they're bad but for what they are and how much they charged for them there are certainly better offerings from the competition with better features, height adjusters and easier to use at the same price point or very close. For the record the reason your miele is hard to push is because you likely have a worn out brushroll...

Me personally I love miele and sebo, however I do find this test just a little unfair, because miele never made good uprights, they never had a good amount of cleaning performance, their canisters are way better,

I understand what you are saying. I did however compare the Miele canister to the Sebo when I was deciding. I ended up prefering the larger bag of the D4, easier roller cleaner head of the Sebo, and the cheaper cost of parts to repair if ever needed.
As a longtime vacuum cleaner collector and sales person your demo is apples and oranges. You should pit canister to canister, not upright to canister. A huge difference in cleaning ability, airflow and maneuverability.
When I was shopping, I was comparing canister to cansiter. I didnt have both on hand so I used my upright in place. I still prefered the benefits of the Sebo canister to the Miele canister. The larger bag, easier to clean head(removable brush), and lower maintenance costs were some of the main things that took me to the Sebo side. Since I have made this video I have maybe changed the bag twice. I dont have a big mess in my house and I only vacuum every Sunday. What I can say is that this is one of the quietest vacuums Ive ever tried. I can literally vacuum around my cat sleeping on the carpet and she doesnt even bat an eye or get scared. One of the main comparisons in the video was canister to upright in general, not necessarily brand to brand. Canister has been much easier to live with.

1) do you find the Sebo heavy? I’ve read that some people regret their canister vacuums and complain of heaviness lugging it or can’t get used to dragging it around while vacuuming. I’m a small not very strong female who finds uprights heavy to lift up the stairs.
2) I heard e3 is sufficient for houses under 3000 sq ft./larger houses. What made you choose the d4?

I personally dont find it heavy, but I would probably do the e3 if its a concern. Any canister in my opinion is going to be easier to lug up and down steps than an upright. I went for the D4 because it was the top model and had the largest capacity. I typically vacuum once a week in my 2100 sqft house and one bag lasted almost a year. That makes it extremely efficient and inexpensive to operate to me.

Had a Miele Orion canister vac, wasn't impressed with the cleaning/suction power at all. Use Roomba 980s for weekly vacuuming, and Kirby vacuums for spot cleaning and occasional deep cleaning.
Miele has a HEPA filter and SEBO only hospital grade filtration (only the K-series has HEPA option from Sebo). With a filtration test, Miele came out with zero particles and Sebo about 40 - 60 ppm. Also Miele has better bags them Sebo, because when you take out the bag from a Sebo canister, it will have some debris within the space where the bag is put in the canister. And the suction power is a bit better from Miele.
If Sebo can give a HEPA filtration option and get better filtration bags, I would go for the Sebo. Because I like the guarantee terms and the hard/carpet floor heads better from Sebo.
You can't compare the suction power between canister and upright. The motor in the canister is much more powerfull.
Honestly, if all that mattered was a HEPA filter, then a $39 dirt devil has one. Its not necessarily always about just one thing. Plus, there has to be a reason that most hospitals use the SEBO. Im sure the Miele is still a great canister vac, but Im more than satisfied with the time Ive had with my SEBO, and amount these bags can fill up with and still keep full suction.

Then I had a Thomas and sent it back. I wanted a Sebo so bad but the Minister of Finance said I only have a budget for a Miele. I want a Sebo😭
I don't know where you are but here in the states they are both similarly priced. That being said, nothing wrong with the Miele. You'll get a Sebo one day 👍

What is your opinion on water filtration vacuum cleaners?
@@ilrimpianto I honestly have no experience with them. However, I watch a channel called performancereviews and he took apart a lot of those water filtration vacuums and they look like an absolute mess. One more thing to weigh it down, spill somewhere, get moldy, clog up etc. They dont even seem to filter the air as well as HEPA filter vacuums. I trust what works and is proven.
@@AlexandStuff My mom had a water filtration vacuum many moons ago. I can tell you that they doesn't filter at all.

Alex And Stuff, How long does the bag last, does it begin to have any oders? Does the canister tend to flip over, does it suffer from oversteer oscilations with the 4 wheel design?

I can't wait to move into a house me being in a small apartment I'm stuck with a Dyson V10 the constantly clogs and the filters stink even though I don't have any pets I think dysons are purposely designed to clog itself and the people that says otherwise lives in those showroom homes and they probably vacuumed like 12 times a day I can't wait to move into a house and get a proper bagged canister so that I don't have to deal with a bagless container and the cyclones full of micro particles again!
I hope you get the house of your dreams and get to vacuum any time you want with a bagged cannister!

Did you end up polishing it and if so what did you use for polish and applicator?
Ill be honest, after I did the review I basically completely forgot about any scratches. Its a vacuum, not a sports car. It is going to get scrapes and cuts. That being said, it still looks really good after all this time, and Ive dropped it down the steps and banged it into the corners of walls. Really impressed with how durable this thing is.

1. A vacuum that is HEPA compliant should emit no dust to speak of. On the other hand, if it generates an inappropriately aimed blast of wind, then it might stir up dust that may not settle in time for the vacuum to collect it.
2. I understand the simple physics of a bag design. Tell me how ANY bag design does not lose suction as it fills up.
3. I am not a fan of the construction quality of Dyson, but I do believe any such cyclonic design inherently maintains suction as it fills up. It is for that reason that dust collectors used in industrial applications (e.g., a wood shop) use cyclonic technology to drop dust into a trap before it gets anywhere close to the final stage HEPA filter that's proximate to the air exhaust port.
4. If you want something that truly traps fine dust, consider a Rainbox vacuum, the unique feature of which is it traps dust in a water bath, from which there is NO escape. It too never lost suction; the physics of its operation simply made that impossible. Its design permits one to pick up spills without fear of ruining the machine, or turning a dust bag into mud. I used to own one and only gave it up because my house cleaner just could wrap her head around something different. The regimen of pouring out its dirty water with each use had the side benefit of not creating a dark place in which germs can multiply until the bag is full and ready to toss. Use of water as the entrapment mechanism also means you never run out of bags. And water is essentially free.
@Alex and Stuff Thanks for the video! My wonderful Miele upright just bit the dust after I had it a long time! I loved it! I’m so sad I can’t get another one. I refuse to buy a cheap brand that will just break, so I’m looking at Sebo. Can you tell me why you chose a canister over another upright? I’m torn between the upright or canister. I mostly have hard floors.
For me it was a myriad of reasons. First, it's much easier to do my carpeted stairs with the canister. Second, less weight to push around since the hose is so long, the canister stays in place a lot of the time. Third, maintenance, when needed is much easier. That being said, I have mostly carpet in my house. If I had mostly wood floors I'd probably get something super light and easy like a stick vacuum. Check out a channel called vacuum wars, they do a lot of good testing for different floor types.
Cylinders are much more practical. You can do crevices, stairs and high areas so much more easily and you are only holding the hose, so it's much lighter to use. I've always found it odd why in the UK and America, upright vacuums are so popular. I guess that because British and American homes have far more carpets, but you can get cylinder vacuums with powered brushes as well, including SEBO hoovers
@@grassytramtracks - IMO, uprights are MUCH better for doing carpets, and they are easier to stow away when not in use. I never liked having to drag a canister around while trying not to trip over both a long cord and long hose. Our Miele S7/U1 upright has been great for over a decade, though it isn't that easy to repair, and now, parts are getting harder to find.

@dstealthsniper Its doing really well. I am very happy with my decision. It might sound crazy, but I have only changed the bags twice, they hold that much! Granted its just me in my house with a cat and I vacuum almost every Sunday. Its been great for hardwood floors and different styles of carpet. It holds up to being dragged around and bumped into everything lol.
I have have just bought a sebo professional d8 but the cord does not retract but have no idea how to manage the cable there doesnt seem to be any where to wind it do you know how would appreciate it ( it does show on the sebo channel wrapping it on the bottom but the picture is cut from the top so can't see how it wraps from the top)
I just googled that model and it looks like there's a metal hook at the bottom the cord winds around.

I hate the spinning lights on the D4. It's like scratching on a chalkboard. Miele is to Apple as Sebo is to Android. I have a Miele S528 but if I bought a new vacuum today I'd get either the Sebo E3, the really stealthy but weird Airsign or, most likely, the Zero G. The Zero G is uglier than sin but the floating canister is a game changer.
If thats your biggest issue, I need to laugh. Honestly, in the year I have been using this thing, I never notice the light. Because the canister is always following behind, I dont see it. The vacuum has been working flawlessly and the size of the bag means hardly ever having to change it.

@@davidhunternyc1 Again, why would you be staring at the lights? Also, you dont need the D4 in a small apartment. If I didnt have a two story house with all carpet I probably wouldnt need a D4 also.

Do you have any objective proof that you can't get good HEPA filtered performance from a bagless vacuum? I have seen many objective tests that seem to show that perform every bit as well as the fancy bag ones.
I have no personal testing, but there are enough videos out there showing how dirty non-bagged vacuums are. I can also tell you that every local vacuum place I visited when trying to figure out what I wanted, all steered me away from a bagless when it came to cleanest air. Of course you could say they only want to sell bagged vacuums for the after sale of the bags, but I could buy them anywhere, not directly from that place. They also said, the emptying of the canister puts dirt back in the air and the "HEPA" filters on those might be good for the first few passes around the house but will clog up quick and need to be replaced more often. When that happens, the air will find a way to escape through any means possible not being completely sealed. This is why a bagged vacuum is superior and has multiple layers of filtration.
Bagged vacuums are by far more hygienic to dispose of the dust. No matter how careful with a bagless bin microscopic dust will adhere to the container even emptying indoors or outside and indoors the particles go into the air. You put that into the air when you switch the machine on. The filter seals are renewed whenever the filters are changed, with bag less these tend not to be replaced & these seals and filters lose efficiency everytime they are washed!!! Every Dyson gave me issues with filter leaking dust as they age. I prefer SEBO myself. They are cheaper here in UK.
@@blakaeg You do you. I think the world has gone crazy with marketing around specks of dust. We live in a dirty world of dirt, dust, microbes, bacteria, chemicals, and we do just fine. I think people fall for the marketing of can't have specks of dust in our house or a single bit of bacteria. I'm okay with bagless for all of the convenience. If a bagged vacuum is just plain better at vacuuming carpet or whatever, then that's different for me personally.
@@AlexandStuff The only part that matters with a filter is what gets past the initial pre motor filter and how good the seal is post motor, and the Miele version works just fine.
If you liked bagged, that's fine, they are convenient. But nearly every bagless vac I've used only has motor carbon dust in the filter.
@@sunshinecycling I'd have to second this opinion - dust is all from humans, so it would be funny to complain about being allergic to other humans.
That being said, cleaning out dirty prefilters is quite annoying, even if the one in the Miele is decent. To each their own, as one guy said, if you have more money than time, use bagged. If you have more time than money, go bagless.
Course back in the day all vacuums were bagged, but the bag was reused. I think bagless is a step above that for sure.
Miele is the best
I am one of those heathen who use a Dyson cordless. But I have no carpets and I like to quickly vacuum everyday. Good review nonetheless!!!
Its the emptying of the dustbin that puts it all back in the air as well. But for not having carpets a vacuum like this would be unnecessary. I would probably get a cordless stickvac as well for convenience.
The comparison itself is incorrect as you are comparing a canister with an upright. The right comparison would be with a Miele C3
The comparison was more Sebo vs Miele. When I was doing my comparison shopping, it was against the C3. I just happened to have my old upright to stand in for the C3.

Miele vacuums are made in Germany but some of there older design vacuums are assembled in china out of German made parts. Miele also have there own factory in china and they control the quality of there products. I have Miele vacuums that are made in china and that are made in Germany and there is no difference
I think he's specifically talking about the blizzard and the boost bagless design one those are made cheaper especially the boost just by looking at them without even touching it you could tell it's made in a generic factory which generic common part designs the cyclone is very similar to shark where it's singular and fluffy dust will clog up very easily I think the bagged vacuums are still made either in Germany or advise by German inspectors in China but the bagless machines seems like a reworked shark the only unique thing they have is the filter The knocks the dust off itself if you use the comfort clean mode! Ibasiac even says they seem un Miele like and those are the only bagless vacuums that he openly seems frustrated with!

@@JandG2 I'm pretty sure every major company has a "made in China" product line or 50/50 parts made in China parts made in origin of product it's kind of like they say one of the most american-made vehicles are actually Toyotas not sure how true that is but that's what I read
Regardless where a product is made/assembled, what truly counts are these factors:
1. Is the design good?
2. Is the factory set up to build a zero-defect product? Who designed the factory?
3. Is the quality assurance able to achieve the best output from the factory?
4. Are the raw materials that go into the product top notch?
If you believe the Germans can crank out great products (their 20th-century autos certainly were great), then, as long as they oversee the building of the factory and likewise its product output, there is zero reason to question its country of manufacture.

@@josephgaviotaA legitimate question in the context of a vacuum video. Not wearing them indoors drastically reduces the accumulation of dirt on your floors. You can go barefoot, wear slippers, moccasins, or reserve a pair of shoes for indoors only. I do allow guests and repairmen to keep their footwear on.
Give it a try. It makes a tremendous difference.

Thanks, Alex. I just bought a Sebo today. Model E3 (which I think is one below the model you have). The same thing, I was aiming for a Miele C3, the dealer said the Miele's have gone too "mainstream," trying to please the discount sales, and now about ⅔ is made in CHY-NAH. He says the Sebo is still made in Germany. So, Sebo it was.
