The Irish Guards marched through Windsor on their way to be presented with new colours at the castle💂🏰💂
Lead by Turlough Mór, their Irish Wolfhound mascot, the Band of the Irish Guards and their Drums & Pipes, they certainly added a splash of colour to the town centre before getting their new colours💂💂♀️💂♂️
What a treat, the full dog and drum, pipes and band.
this has to be hands down the best way ive ever seen to take your dog for a walk. with a full marching band
Not just a Marching band, but a whole Irish Guard Regiment too.
Given the dog is a Wolfhound, he is taking his human's for a walk . . . .
My Dad an ex
Scot’s Guard always said the Micks had the best music to march to
Makes your heart swell with pride.
Brilliant absolutely Could you listen to them all day Proud to be British
@@lasigh1478 Correct Paddy. Most of these soldiers would be from Northern Ireland
so obviously British just like the Scots Guards and the Welsh Guards. Northern Ireland always was and always will be British.
@@lasigh1478 The majority are Unionist ya ballbag.
@@lasigh1478 The Irish are British as well tbh
So proud to be British our history culture our Royal family feel blessed to be born into such a great nation.
@@derekferguson2328 actually a report I seen says 34% of them hail from the Republic of Ireland..
Actually it does look like the entire regiment have decided to pay a visit, fabulous display for our dear. Queen, sure she would have been watching, God bless her.

The Irish Guards were and still are mostly from the south, catholic Ireland, the reason we were not allowed a Guards Redgement for a long time was cos Queen Victoria was afraid of rebellion but eventually gave in. If you were to read a book about the Irish Guards by a former officer called 'the micks' you would see they were from the south of Ireland. The best soilders were from the south of Ireland, always were and always will be. the sash would never be heard in the Irish Guards, it would be an insult to the King of England. Yours Brian Boru
Back in the old ways, when marching and all that had a purpose in combat. If you'd see a whole battalion of Guards march through the streets of London, colours flying and drums beating, then something serious must've happened if they are sending in the Guards. An example can be when the Grenadiers were marched across London to provide protection to the Bank of England.
The Bank Piquet used to be a regular duty since the infamous Gordon Riots. In 1780, I believe. It has recently? been discontinued.
Poor dogs feet must be burning on the hot roads!😢
Awesome.
Love the tune the fluters are playing
"Mud Cabin"
Still awesome. 🙂
Loved them playing the sash
@@lasigh1478 always love the sash my father wore
Followed by The Wearing Of The Green.

Fantastic video. ☘☘☘ thanks 😊
Thank you dear 🤗
Ah, 60+ years ago I used to travel to Windsor to go dancing at the Ricky Tick Club. Huge fond memories of the town since I was old enough to walk. Later I took photoes of my son standing next to the Guards at the Castle - a rite of passage for every child within a 50 mile radius. In Windsor Great Park is a great treat - the Bluebells. Riverside pubs. What more could you ask for?
I used to be stationed at the old victory barracks back in the 70s and feel in love with Windsor, I recently went back with my wife and had a meal in the old knights tavern.
My gosh, did they send the entire regiment? Was there a special occasion? very nice video, as always!
My pleasure 🙏

Love the tunes "The Old Mud Cabin" and "Dear Old Donegal" what's the second song officially guys? I Know the words " with a shillelagh under your arm and a twinkle in your eye we'll be off to Tipperary in the morning....anyone know :)
Gosh there were a lot of officers on parade.
Anyone know the name of the marches particularly the 3rd one , its played by the flutes as they are passing Savills.
LOVE THE WOLFHOUND!!!
@ s Barr. may I introduce you to Turloch Mor, or Seamus to his friends. He is the new Mascot, just out of training and a delight already. ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
There is more in this parade than just the band. why doe's everybody always follow the band as if the rest of the street is empty.
Great video. Do you have the return ?!
No. Unfortunately I didn’t record the return because this time, the Irish guard went from the barracks to the castle and didn’t return.
Thank you 💂
That dog is out of step!
He's an Irish Wolfhound , he can step anyway he likes! 😀👍
We have the best army in thd world
Indeed 💂💂♀️💂♂️
Nearly the complete Regiment? Never seen so many Officers.
Many 💂💂♀️💂♂️
It's not the usual guard, the Irish Guards were receiving new Colours from the Queen on this day - in readiness for Trooping the Colour in a few weeks. I'm sure there's a video(?) of that ceremony on UA-cam somewhere.
@@Insperato62 Thanks for that. Not being in the UK we don't get these dates or occasions on TV.
로맨틱 댄스
Full regimental turnout, was it for the late Queens Platinum anniversary ?
So many of them! Yes, there are many of them in England! English people! That's where they live, in England!
The regiment was raised by Queen Victoria to commemorate the Irishmen who fought for Britain in the 2nd Boer War. A large number of them are actually recruited from across Ireland and many of those who are English-born are of Irish descent, recruited predominantly from cities with a large Irish diaspora. The regimental mascot is an Irish Wolfhound, and the traditional regimental celebration is St Patricks Day when they are all presented with a shamrock to wear. They are known as "The Fighting Micks" for a reason. So yes they are a regiment in the British (not English!😄) Army, and yes many of them are born in England, but the Irish identity is strong within the regiment.
1:14 who was saying mind the cone
Are these real Irish Gards? Or Ulster Scots?
Who cares ? They have the honour of serving and they have our respect.
There is no such thing as ulster scots, never was and never will be, the Scots came to Scotland in 600 AD after the romans left Britain from IRELAND, they brought Christinaty and stability to the pagan picts, gave Scotland its name, and its true identity. Scots do not want to recognise this today as it interfers with their fantasy world of Scotland leaving out the Irish connection. yours finn McCool
You are a cheeky little git, look at my answer below, ulster scots , what a joke, fantasy world, typical little billy boy, Irish Guards are only real if they are from the Republic, there is no such thing as ulster guards, please, we are all rolling around the floor laughing, yours, real Guards Men
Why doesnt anyone move the bloody cones!
Centre of frame might best be the musicians actually playing
Thank goodness the police don't look like giant bumblebees
Bring back the height requirement for the Guards and don't allow fat soldiers on parade - at all!
Terrible the state of the army today.
I thought Guards had to be quite tall but there were quite a few diddy ones in this lot - why's that?
There is no longer a height requirement. !! Women NEXT !!
@@davidrobinson5999 what a joke
@@speedtriplerider7853 It was just Queens Company Grenadier guards that had a taller height requirement, that was dropped quite a long time ago now.
The foot guards make up 5 regiments of the British Army, so it wouldn't be realistic to limit the pool of recruits for a large proportion of the British Army.
@@Benjd0 thanks for that
@@speedtriplerider7853 some of the toughest soldiers in history were of short stature
Cannot belive how small some of these Guards are,a couple look like 12 year old.
Rousing stuff
Lot of africans in this "irish" regiment.
Dressing....keep it tight
Once all guards regiments had minimum height requirements, what are those hobbits doing there?
Didn't they all have to be over 6ft or something
@@markscouler2534 The Queens company grenadier guards did, but the rest of the guards didn't have such a strict height requirement. The foot guards are made up of 5 regiments, it would be a bit silly to restrict recruitment so much for a large part of the British Army.
Those "Hobbits" are still soldiers of the Queen.
Some people have no fucking respect.
well my little russian observor, any of these Guards would kick the shit out of you or any other russain who would approach them, you are a cheeky little git, like I said , any of these Guards Men would kick your ass, I would love to see that, put you in your place, it's not height but fighting capability that counts and the IRISH have more than enough of that, yours Brian Boru
Drill not good better get back to 1980.
ARE YOU A PACIFIST OR SOMETHING? SHOW EVERYONE INVOLVED, NOT JUST THE BAND!
Check your eyesight, @mike5d1
Sorry, but those little women look so out of place in the guards, couldn't they form a band of their own
Ain’t like it used to be. All shapes, sizes and gender in the band. The Guards are not like they used to be. Slovenly Lance Corporal, dwarf of a Colour Sergeant. I am sure their are other regiments that could help nurture their musical talents, but please not the Guards !
Cheers dits👍
i think they were excellent ..considering all the political correctness they have to contend with !!!
@@lasigh1478 if you say so
They'll kill you all the same if needed.
They're guards, not toy soldiers.
As a former Grenadier Guardsman, I think I am permitted to have an opinion comparing standards in my day and today. Ain’t like it used to be.
Drug dealers and money launderers most of them.
