Umm James these came out perfect 😍😍 I also struggled with the lines when I did this design, so I feel your pain 😅
Thank you for the very kind words and for recreating one of my fave designs 🤎🤎

I’ve been doing my Ian nails for the past 3-4 years and line work is still difficult! I’ve learned that it is a lot about the tools you work with that can make a difference. These turned out great! Tip for having leveled gel- let the wet gel Polish sit on the nails for like 2-3 mins. Even put the nails upside down. That is the best way for it to level. Sometimes I’ll get my mug warmer and heat my fingers up if they are cold to help the gel level.

Ahh yay! Mutsa is my absolute no. 1 inspiration when it comes to nails, and HER inspiration is always so unique! I’ve never seen anyone else do nails with such a clearly independent and individual eye, if you know what I mean?! 😅
And “lines” was how I originally found her 😂 Her videos on how to get steady straight lines are like magic, and I could never 😅
    Love this James! ❤

Thankful you are posting more of your nail videos, too. I was beginning to worry it might end up a "What you thinking hun" situation and I was sad because you are talented and your voiceover is soothing. If you ever think you are doing too much, don't because you, robert, marcus and ashton all rule youtube. You all are at the top of my list.

I can see your growth in this video. It looked so good! A tip to get gel more level is to hold your finger/hand upside down once you're done applying but before you cure it. Just for a few seconds. That should help the fel level out on its own. It works for art work as well as full nail coats.

I went to school for nails and was absolutely terrible at doing them despite really wanting to be good. Some of the worst acrylic and gel sets out there were my doing in school. Now with gel x I feel like it's possible to do some nice stuff much more easily. The one nail came out so good!

I have the same problem with black liner gel - it was just not having it and kept wrinkling. I was painting the whole nail black and turns out when i thought was just enough was too much still. In the end i just applied the black in the centre then used a liner brush to spread it out to the edges - still really opaque. I think when it comes to details I probably won't use the bottle brush until i get used to the "correct" amount.
P.s. your lines are ace. My shaky hands could never 😂😂

    james this looks so great!
I was doing an hourglass shape the other day and something that helped me was to do smaller dots in the main areas of the hourglass, so basically where it starts, where the high point is, and where it comes down again if that makes sense? Then you can make the dots aligned on each side, and then you do the lines connecting the dots.
But yours turned out prob better than mine hahah, but just sharing some technics. Love both of your channels!
