But why do I always forget to file off the pointy tip of the tips?! 🥲😂
I forget too, sometimes. You can still file it off after you’ve done your mani. Just be gentle. 😁 love watching you do nails!! ❤️
I do the saaame thing 😂😂
where do you get the stand for the nails when you paint them? I’ve been dying for one of those stands so I can pre-do my nails like press ons.
I'm an artist, and the ombre gradient turned out beautifully.
If you added another heart over that semi transparent one slightly off centre, and clean it up to make the halo light, it would've given it a more 3d effect.
I'm actually liking the halo bubble lights. Kinda surprised you didn't do a few yellow and violet ones.
Next time, if you put a dot over the star after making the rays and curing it, it will refresh the shape and crispen up the centre light.
Also, that glitter is so pretty, and I can imagine it stamped on as a halo bubble light, or a filled bubble.
I adore those UV charms! It would definitely let me know when I have been out in the sun too long!😻
They turned out lovely!
@@Leticia.R. surprisingly, she in has really good nail art materials. I'm talking ALL the things. I stock up for my business every couple months.
Hi ! I'm a nail tech from France and let me tell you, you are doing very good ! If you want to get rid of the bubbly effect from your sponge try to find a denser sponge and most importantly do thin layers of highly pigmented gel (painting gels are very good for ombré). Your pickup tool is also probably opening up all the little holes of your sponge so I'd recommend just using your fingers to hold the sponge and pressing a little bit on the sides to reduces the amount of air in. I don't know if I'm being clear or not 😅 I hope it helps, have fun with it !
So soothing to watch, what a gift you are James😌
💜💜💜
Right? I find nail tutorials so calming to watch. Paired with James' voice... my personal ASMR
This is so relaxing to watch and so lovely to feel someone’s passion for something. It feels very old school UA-cam to watch someone just share their hobby and what they’re learning along the way. I’m a makeup artist myself and am no good at nails, but I really enjoy the way you break down your approach and thought process to the look (are they called “looks” for nails haha?). It’s a pleasure to see your creative and artistic side! You have a real talent 😍👏🏽💕
I don't do nails myself, but I enjoy watching various channels. It's just relaxing to watch someone be creative and learn how these designs come together. You did a great job with the camera set up and the nails themselves were really pretty and interesting! The simple one was lovely, but who is gonna say no to some extra sparkle!?! I would call the UV heart you added a charm.
A CHARM! That’s what I was looking for haha. Aw thanks so much! I feel like I maybe need to zoom in just a bit more on the nail?!
@@neophytenails Hah! I think you're good hun. You're already zoomed in closer than the human eye can see. Play around with it and see what you're comfortable with it. You have a good eye and a supportive following. I'm sure we'll be nice if something is off.
That is the cutest little toe bean nail stand.
It’s so cute! It came as a free gift with some gels!
Can't think of a better way to celebrate a holiday about love than giving a nod to Sailor Moon!
Chunky bits you put on nails are generally called charms ☺️ And using press ons or full cover tips is a great way to avoid allergies!
If you want to improve the look of the edge of the nails - file them before painting to bevel the top and underside.
A perfect video to watch while decorating cookies for Valentine’s Day. You’re a natural! 💗
Thank you 🥹💜💜
Love watching nails and I just get lots of giggles watching you, I just get your humor💜 Also, you can use those sponges for ombre-ing, just build it up in layers! Makes it much easier. I'm sure there are a million tutorials on here. But i think you're doing great!💜
Thanks so much 🥹
Also, a sponge a more closed texture will help with the ’bubble’ effect. I always file the ends of my tips and buff them before I do anything else. It’s just about getting a routine before the polish comes out.
A long lost triplet nail channel?? 🤣 They look fantastic James, looking forward to see more!
Thank you!!
These have to be to dreamiest, most aesthetic nails ever 🥹💗☁️
These are so cute!! When building up layers, try using base coat instead of top coat until you get to the actual top coat. This helps with adhesion so you don't have to buff the layers of top coat before painting on top. Also, I love doing ombres with a sponge but it just doesn't work very well with thinner gel polishes. I use gel paint or something like a pudding gel with one of those round latex sponge brush thingies, seems to help not having to do a bunch of layers🤗
Love it James! Improvement is there! We all have our own technique for ombres, you'll find what works for you. I use a sponge and the ombre brush. I go l go left to right with the brush, you might try that. Make sure the sponge doesn't have loose bits on it before you use it, tap it on some tape . Your 4 point stars are good! Have fun!
Thanks! Okay I’m gonna watch a video on that because I feel like….I like sponges lol
I think you need a denser sponge, like a latex makeup sponge, to get a smoother finish instead of the "bubbly" look when stenciling or gradienting! These are so cute i love this design!!
Thank you! Ordered some latex sponges! 🙏🏼💜
Was gonna say this. It bubbles because the sponge isn’t dense enough. They also make sponge brushes which is essentially just like the other brushes but with a sponge attachment. Imo makeup sponges are more cost effective though.
Gorgeous, gorgeous!!! 💙💙 Brilliant design, very relaxing tutorial. I very much enjoyed this🥰
Thank you 🥹
Also, if you top coat make sure to buff it before adding anymore layers. Gel Polish needs a buffed or sticky surface so it doest chip 💜😁
Oh yes!!! Thank you!!
Shein has a lot of really cool nail charms and stickers and tools for affordable prices!!
Number one first have more confidence in yourself and stop putting yourself down you have done an amazing job and better at it than you think. Number two they look amazing 😍
personally i love using acrylic paint to do my Ombre's, i get mine from Walmart for like 50cents each for a decent size bottle and lots of color options. I use them with a triangle makeup sponge, and with acrylic paint you can get it all messy around on your skin and when u go to wash your hands after sealing your ombre with a top coat and it drying then you can literally just wipe or peel off the acrylic off your skin. i absolutely love how these turned out ♥.♥
Skin care and nails?! Basically my best friend 🥰
Also, I would love to eventually see a video of your favorite nail products, brands, tools, etc!
Your looks are amazing! You really do have talent and patience! My only tip would be for the stars, try to put a little less paint on the dotting tool. Know how you dabbed off the sponge? Do that just once with the dotting tool. The less paint you have, the more you'll get that dreamy, trailed off look you're going for.
Well done James the look amazing. You should be proud of yourself as it can take ages to master nail art. For the ombre look maybe try a wide fan brush. Am excited to see your designs progress 💖
Thank you!!! Okay I’ll get in of those now! Thank you 💜
I want a tutorial on the nails you had on during this!!! Looks like wire wrapped crystal kinda vibes ❤
I was just about to comment this!! I love the texture and sparkle ✨
@moolissa he did one if you look in his posted videos 😊
I actually really like the “bubbly” effect of the sponge! I think it’s more Sailor Moony- like how older animes appear softer in focus and sort of grainy. It made it even more dreamy in my opinion!
I'm so so happy that you finally have a channel about your nail art!! It always caught my attention when I watch your skincare videos & I always wondered when are you going to talk about them in your channel but you have a separate account for it!! Can't wait for more nail videos in the future. I've always love your nails' style! Gotta get to work on my nails with this design now 😍😍
Loved hearing you work through all of your ideas in real time. The desigbs turned out looking really yummy! I feel like you could really do some cool stuff in exploring this layering process for the dreamy effect🤩
I never thought I was the kind of person who would enjoy watching nail art videos - but I am *here* for this content ❤️
I don't even wear nail polishes that much but you making me interested in nail art! These are so cute
Thank you!!!
Yay! Im just happy to be here! 😘
🥹💜
James, I don't give a fig about nails and I don't do my own... But this was soooo gooooood! I loved them! Especially the bubbly sky bits! You did great!
Between you and Robert I have all of my favourite past times covered 😍 love watching your videos James you’ve changed my skin and now about to help up my nail game
The second try came out much better 😍
the only other ombre technique I've found was by using those square makeup sponges, and you apply the polish to the sponge, tap it onto the location of the nail that you want to have the color, and then let that dry, and repeat until it looks how you want. the only things with that is that it looks like it can use up a lot of polish 🙁 but honestly James, your ombre looks really good--I didn't know they made those brushes, I'm gonna have to get me one of those cause I love ombre nails!
Super cute. Nail bits are called embellishments. 😊 Can you free hand the hearts instead of stenciling? Instead of using a sponge, since it bubbles, maybe just use a brush. To make it less opaque, just mix a top coat or base coat in with the white polish?
Why are you so damn wholesome?? I love that you have a whole other channel where you're totally vulnerable, doing new things!
James, i love this look. You're doing such an amazing job, and im so loving this channel. Can't wait for your next nail video. 😍 🖤💜🖤💅
Highly recommend Kirtsy Meakin for ombré tips, she is fantastic at it!
You’ve improved so much at doing the cute stars!!!
I get my nails done at a particular place in Williamsburg who can do great designs, now with your chanel I can get some really cool ideas for designs 😎 👌 😄 ☺️ 😊
Oh the ombre with the brush you did amazing!
I know thin layers is the way you want to work
Also, that Mithmillo Milky Sponge you were using works great for ombres. There's a UA-camr named Paola who goes in depth about gradients in her channel, Paola Ponce Nails (PPN)
Because of her I'm into all korean/Japanese nails
Nails came out cute and fantastic 😍 ❤
Those are SO cute! And these videos are like Bob Ross level soothing. Keep it up! 🖤💜🖤
Omg these are so cute!!!! I love how you talk through it its exactly how i talk in my head 😂
You do such a great job with mail art! Also, I just love how you have your real nails. I had to pause the video several times just to admire the way you had the foil look like it was peeling back to unveil the pink galaxy. So amazing!
so cute! i loved seeing you try different but similar techniques
the bubbles were a great idea, can't wait to try! 🌙
also im in love with the little jelly charms, i wanna eat them 💕
This is so beautiful! I know nothing about nails, but I'm exploring Japanese and Korean nail art, too, so its lovely to see a content creator I already know and trust going on the same journey. You're probably not reading comments on a 10 month old video 🤣 BUT if you do the fairy light effect is called 'bokeh'! Thank you for your videos, Helen
OPI makes “Expert Touch Lint Free Nail Wipes” - I got some on Amazon. As an aside - I use White Rabbit Naked Cotton for my face (to remove eye makeup) because they’re also 100% lint free. They come in a little rectangle shape but can open up larger for DIY masking.
I love watching your nail journey and find your voice and style of video quite soothing! Keep up the amazing work!! ❤
im so here for these nail videos. great job!
He can’t do make up but he does the most beautiful nails. Explain yourself, James!! 😩❤️
Ahhhh haha 😂😂🙏🏼🙏🏼💜
Happy Monday! This nail design took me back to my teens and early 20’s in the 90’s (damn I’m vintage). I used to love wearing acrylic tips with airbrush and rhinestones (classy, right?). These turned out beautifully. 💓💜💓💜💓💜
I'm soooooo loving this nail content 💯 yesssss queen
Sooo cute 🥲 love the colour changing hearts too 💕
You are a promising nail artiste !
Thank you for sharing with us. You did well 🥳
love love looooove! 💗 you're doin so great, bb! we call this technique a jelly sammich or pond mani (puttin designs between each layer). i think you'd have a ball with alcohol inks & jelly gels. you can get really inexpensive jellies from ali, and nicole diary makes great inks (also found on ali). i do lots of experiments on my channel & have loads of cheap jellies for playing. i also love applying jellies over stamped designs to transform them & give em that pond lewk. thanks again for startin this channel & sharin your work with us! 🥰
Ahhhhh thank youuuuuu!!! Omg I love that name haha! Are jellies the same as syrup gels?! I have lots of those hahah. And have some inks coming sooooon!
@@neophytenails yay inks! i'm so excited for youuuu! 🤗 yeah syrups are the same as jellies, but i think the actual term "syrup" originated in korea a coupla years ago (originally from japan). some brands call theirs "glass" or "sheer" or "jelly" or "milky." similarly, dif brands have dif names for their solid gels (madam glam have "pudding" gel, young nails have "clay" gel, etc. but it's all just solid gel in a pot or palette. lol) since i don't have beyoncé monies for korean products 🤣 i just do my playin with the more inexpensive jellies. lmaooo but don't let a price point fool ya. cuz some'a the most affordable products on the market are still bomb af.
Your channel is fascinating, thank you for sharing your tips and tricks, love the products you are using too ❤
WoW I just discovered you had this channel! So happy to see this type of content 😍
Hi James 💖 I think you did a great job with the ombre :) the technique you used is the one I see commonly used as well by others, so I think you just need practice. But you're doing great already ✨️
You can get lint free nail wipes from eBay or Amazon. My favourite airbrush was to do a dark varnish the placed a bit of lace on top..so cute 😊
So the ones I use are supposed to be lint free but now I have trust issues 🥲
@@neophytenails oh no am sure you will find the perfect ones it's all a bit hit and miss when you start something new 😊
James, no matter how clean I keep my nail desk, I always end up with a cat hair in my mani. I usually don’t find it until everything is cured. 🤣🤣❤️
Ahhh haha 😅 I’m surprised more dog hair hasn’t made it into these videos!
@@neophytenails Oh, they will! But the good thing is, you carry a part of your pups with you wherever you go! 🤣
So pretty! Absolutely love this!
UGH!!! THIS IS SO CUTE!!!!
so glad I just happened to look into the description section of your latest video on the main channel and was like ..what.. nails?!?!
ran ti subscribe to this and your Instagram. I used to do nail art tutorials here on UA-cam before I got the kind of job where my nails break constantly. :/
Really Loving your nail content so far! keep up the great work ❤️
Aww I love this vibe! Nice work!
So cute! 🩷 💜 ❤️
Ok I'm in loveeeeeeeee with this channel 😍
Best Ombre technique used a small memory foam sponge works excellent for ombre using the self leveling gel polishes ..Also works with regular polish ya need to not put along of polish on the little pc.of sponge .
Thanks for the tip! I found a beauty blender a brand sent to me and cut that up whilst I wait for better sponges! It worked really well 😅
loving the nail content so far!!!
Congrats on all the subscriptions! 😂🎉. These vijoes are very soothing.
if you want to preserve the brush after the acetone, rinse it off with water and then cover it in oil, could be nail oil or just like avocado oil, doesn't matter and it helps with shaping the bristles too.
Ohhh amazing thank you! I’ve destroyed a fair few brushes🙃
Pretty please make more nail art videos using gel polish❤
I use “expert touch” lint free wipes, you can find them on Amazon. I haven’t found better ones than this yet 😉 beautiful nails James well done ❤xx
SOOOOO PRETTY!
Your ombré turned out great! Mine always have lines in them when I use the ombré brush.
I thought UA-cam was glitching. Didn’t know you had a nail channel lol. This was very relaxing!
MORE NAIL VIDEOS PLEASEESESEERETRDFREESSS I LOVE YOUU I’ve seen rhinestones on the bottom/back of the nail I wanna see yu try it I LOVE YOUUU 😖💕
I’m showing these to my nail lady 😍
Omg show me on insta of you get them done! Would love to see how a professional does it! 🥹
Those are so good! I’m really enjoying these videos
I love these videos from you♥️
Thanks for sharing your wins/struggles and they came out so cuuute^_^
Thank you 🥹💜
ahhh James these are gorgeous!!!😍
Thank you 🥹
James you are way too hard on yourself! I would freak out so hard if my nails looked like any of these 💗
Hi James! Here's a quick tip for your stencils. Try putting on a thin coat of clear polish or a thin coat of the base color (the one under the sticker) before spraying on your white. It's a good way to seal the edges and get crisp, clear lines. I should mention that I'm a woodworker and furniture maker and this is how I get crisp lines when using stencils. I don't really know anything about nails but it seemed like a transferrable technique. I just watch with my wife. And she laughed at how exasperated I got when you and Robert tried to make furniture.
So beautiful
I do rhinestone crafting and the only thing I’ve found that’s truly lint free is a microfiber cloth. They’re cheap, work well, and will last for quite awhile as long as fabric softener isn’t used in the wash.
So cute!
I love these videos. I am so intimidated by gel nails so have not tried them yet. I feel like watching these is going to help. I hate doing my nails all the time and having them be chipped or peeling in a day or two.
Love it Great Job!!
They came out beautiful! Loving these videos, they're so relaxing but I'm learning all kinds of tips at the same time 😊
Well done James, I love those!❤
Thank you 🥹
I love Sailor moon so much ❤️ I'd love more SM inspired nails!
Love them!
Your nail video is so relaxing and nice. Your attention to detail too, fantastic!
This is so cute! 💕
I've always liked using a sponge for gradients. You can even paint the colours you're using next to each other on a surface (plastic bag, silicone mat, etc.), then swirl them together where the colours meet. Press the sponge onto the polish, and apply to your nails. This helps make the gradient transition smoother/softer. I mainly use regular polish for my gradients, but I'm sure this would work with gel as well!
Also, side note: you should check out Mooncat Nail Polish! They just have regular polish, not gel, but I feel like you'd love them. Their whole brand is very dreamy, ethereal, and spacey, and this nail art and the design from the last video you did feel very Mooncat-like.
Ohhhhh amazing thanks for sharing that tip! I’ll give it a go! And I’ll check them out 😍💜
Your voice makes me so calm 😊. Im not into nails but I do enjoy watching you make these beautiful nails ❤️. All those colors, small details and bits put together is like a piece of art. This is sooooo soothing and calming to watch ❤️☺️.
James, these sailor moon inspired nails are really lovely! You are so creative. Can’t wait for the next video.
Great job! They are beautiful! 💜🖤
Thank you!
I loved the first video, and it is so nice to see that much improvement in this video!!
