I'm an artist, and the ombre gradient turned out beautifully. If you added another heart over that semi transparent one slightly off centre, and clean it up to make the halo light, it would've given it a more 3d effect. I'm actually liking the halo bubble lights. Kinda surprised you didn't do a few yellow and violet ones. Next time, if you put a dot over the star after making the rays and curing it, it will refresh the shape and crispen up the centre light. Also, that glitter is so pretty, and I can imagine it stamped on as a halo bubble light, or a filled bubble. I adore those UV charms! It would definitely let me know when I have been out in the sun too long!😻 They turned out lovely!
@@Starlight.0.1.0.1 surprisingly, she in has really good nail art materials. I'm talking ALL the things. I stock up for my business every couple months.
Hi ! I'm a nail tech from France and let me tell you, you are doing very good ! If you want to get rid of the bubbly effect from your sponge try to find a denser sponge and most importantly do thin layers of highly pigmented gel (painting gels are very good for ombré). Your pickup tool is also probably opening up all the little holes of your sponge so I'd recommend just using your fingers to hold the sponge and pressing a little bit on the sides to reduces the amount of air in. I don't know if I'm being clear or not 😅 I hope it helps, have fun with it !
This is so beautiful! I know nothing about nails, but I'm exploring Japanese and Korean nail art, too, so its lovely to see a content creator I already know and trust going on the same journey. You're probably not reading comments on a 10 month old video 🤣 BUT if you do the fairy light effect is called 'bokeh'! Thank you for your videos, Helen
I'm so so happy that you finally have a channel about your nail art!! It always caught my attention when I watch your skincare videos & I always wondered when are you going to talk about them in your channel but you have a separate account for it!! Can't wait for more nail videos in the future. I've always love your nails' style! Gotta get to work on my nails with this design now 😍😍
personally i love using acrylic paint to do my Ombre's, i get mine from Walmart for like 50cents each for a decent size bottle and lots of color options. I use them with a triangle makeup sponge, and with acrylic paint you can get it all messy around on your skin and when u go to wash your hands after sealing your ombre with a top coat and it drying then you can literally just wipe or peel off the acrylic off your skin. i absolutely love how these turned out ♥.♥
Loved hearing you work through all of your ideas in real time. The desigbs turned out looking really yummy! I feel like you could really do some cool stuff in exploring this layering process for the dreamy effect🤩
These are so cute!! When building up layers, try using base coat instead of top coat until you get to the actual top coat. This helps with adhesion so you don't have to buff the layers of top coat before painting on top. Also, I love doing ombres with a sponge but it just doesn't work very well with thinner gel polishes. I use gel paint or something like a pudding gel with one of those round latex sponge brush thingies, seems to help not having to do a bunch of layers🤗
Number one first have more confidence in yourself and stop putting yourself down you have done an amazing job and better at it than you think. Number two they look amazing 😍
Also, a sponge a more closed texture will help with the ’bubble’ effect. I always file the ends of my tips and buff them before I do anything else. It’s just about getting a routine before the polish comes out.
This is so relaxing to watch and so lovely to feel someone’s passion for something. It feels very old school UA-cam to watch someone just share their hobby and what they’re learning along the way. I’m a makeup artist myself and am no good at nails, but I really enjoy the way you break down your approach and thought process to the look (are they called “looks” for nails haha?). It’s a pleasure to see your creative and artistic side! You have a real talent 😍👏🏽💕
I get my nails done at a particular place in Williamsburg who can do great designs, now with your chanel I can get some really cool ideas for designs 😎 👌 😄 ☺️ 😊
James, I don't give a fig about nails and I don't do my own... But this was soooo gooooood! I loved them! Especially the bubbly sky bits! You did great!
so cute! i loved seeing you try different but similar techniques the bubbles were a great idea, can't wait to try! 🌙 also im in love with the little jelly charms, i wanna eat them 💕
I don't do nails myself, but I enjoy watching various channels. It's just relaxing to watch someone be creative and learn how these designs come together. You did a great job with the camera set up and the nails themselves were really pretty and interesting! The simple one was lovely, but who is gonna say no to some extra sparkle!?! I would call the UV heart you added a charm.
@@neophytenails Hah! I think you're good hun. You're already zoomed in closer than the human eye can see. Play around with it and see what you're comfortable with it. You have a good eye and a supportive following. I'm sure we'll be nice if something is off.
Between you and Robert I have all of my favourite past times covered 😍 love watching your videos James you’ve changed my skin and now about to help up my nail game
Your looks are amazing! You really do have talent and patience! My only tip would be for the stars, try to put a little less paint on the dotting tool. Know how you dabbed off the sponge? Do that just once with the dotting tool. The less paint you have, the more you'll get that dreamy, trailed off look you're going for.
I think you need a denser sponge, like a latex makeup sponge, to get a smoother finish instead of the "bubbly" look when stenciling or gradienting! These are so cute i love this design!!
Was gonna say this. It bubbles because the sponge isn’t dense enough. They also make sponge brushes which is essentially just like the other brushes but with a sponge attachment. Imo makeup sponges are more cost effective though.
Hi James 💖 I think you did a great job with the ombre :) the technique you used is the one I see commonly used as well by others, so I think you just need practice. But you're doing great already ✨️
Well done James the look amazing. You should be proud of yourself as it can take ages to master nail art. For the ombre look maybe try a wide fan brush. Am excited to see your designs progress 💖
I actually really like the “bubbly” effect of the sponge! I think it’s more Sailor Moony- like how older animes appear softer in focus and sort of grainy. It made it even more dreamy in my opinion!
Love watching nails and I just get lots of giggles watching you, I just get your humor💜 Also, you can use those sponges for ombre-ing, just build it up in layers! Makes it much easier. I'm sure there are a million tutorials on here. But i think you're doing great!💜
Chunky bits you put on nails are generally called charms ☺️ And using press ons or full cover tips is a great way to avoid allergies! If you want to improve the look of the edge of the nails - file them before painting to bevel the top and underside.
love love looooove! 💗 you're doin so great, bb! we call this technique a jelly sammich or pond mani (puttin designs between each layer). i think you'd have a ball with alcohol inks & jelly gels. you can get really inexpensive jellies from ali, and nicole diary makes great inks (also found on ali). i do lots of experiments on my channel & have loads of cheap jellies for playing. i also love applying jellies over stamped designs to transform them & give em that pond lewk. thanks again for startin this channel & sharin your work with us! 🥰
