- Turnaround Arts infuses struggling schools with the arts as a strategy to bolster reform efforts. Turnaround Arts is a national program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts that works in 73 schools in 37 districts across 17 states and the District of Columbia.
"Love Train" features Turnaround Arts students performing alongside their Turnaround Artists including Alfre Woodard, Bernie Williams, Black Violin, Chad Smith, Dan Zanes and Claudia Eliaza, David Garibaldi, Elizabeth Banks, Frank Gehry, IZ Avila, Jackson Browne, Jacqueline Suskin, Jake Shimabukuro, Jason Mraz, John Cruz, John Lloyd Young, Keb' Mo’, Larisa Martínez, Ledisi, Mic Jordan, Misty Copeland, Ozomatli, Paula Abdul, Paula Fuga, Speech, Taboo, Tim Robbins, Tracy Reese, Trombone Shorty, Valerie June, Yo-Yo Ma, and The O’Jays (who originally performed the song).This video was produced by Turnaround Arts and Playing For Change to share the message that the arts have the power to improve our schools and build more compassionate, connected communities. This is the version of Love Train that we didn't even know we needed. It takes an already brilliant song and makes it even more joyous. If you can watch this video and not feel just a bit better about life and humanity, than you are a rare person indeed. Brilliant to focus it on children.
This was probably the happiest Playing for Change song I've ever seen. Those kids look like they were having a blast. I'm disabled and I felt like getting up and dancing. Great arrangement!! 🎼🎷🪕🎻 🥁🎹🎙️🎶

one of the highlights was seeing the two remaining singers from the O'Jays, who sang the original song, singin it again and still having those soulful voices. and of course seeing yo yo ma-one of the classiest people on the planet.

I don't know what makes me happier: seeing so many artists whose work I know and love supporting and taking part in this (including my girl Alfre Woodard back home in New Orleans!), or seeing so many young people clearly all the way into it and singing, dancing and leaping with the kind of joy only kids know. Those 1st lines, tell England, tell Russia too, hit super hard today…my youngest sister’s birthday was last Thursday, the day of Russia’s attack of Ukraine, she & hubby flew to England on Friday, for her birthday, they are in London right now, going to Stonehenge tomorrow, then to Wales to visit our families Castle, then they drive to Scotland for a week, because we are also very Scottish. I am praying🙏 for Peace ✌️ in Ukraine and for this war to end quickly, before it’s to late. The threat of nuclear war has always been part of my life, and Putin is an insane monster. I just watched What’s Going On, this Love Train has tears rolling down my cheeks.

I suspect that at least some of the dislikes are mistakes. On occasion I've inadvertently tapped "dislike" when I've loved something. Given the high number of responders, I think a small number of goofs are inevitable. I wouldn't take them too seriously. :))

I'd never "dislike" a PFC video ... but this one gets away from their core of showing musicians joining together to (actually) play/sing GREAT covers of iconic songs. This one was more of a celebrity video. I just hope they don't do these instead of their original format (e.g. "The Weight", "La Bamba", etc.).
@@yannickomani7382 I think that's because it's a video specifically promoting Turnaround Arts, which is a program for schools, supported by Playing For Change, and no doubt supported by the professional artists in the video. Although, many of PFC's videos feature some professional musicians.

If music can prove only one thing this surely would be : notes can gather all the world. Melodies take your soul through countries where no frontiers exist except on maps, people of the world are so beautiful in this video. So beautiful to be them, naturally, with their own music, their own culture, their own hearts.

More needs to be credited to The O'Jays. It was their message that was so powerful that it still resonates to this day. Even making it possible for Turnaround's marvelous success all these decades later. The O'Jays are without a doubt one of America's most important piece of Americana itself. They broke through the nonsense and talked the language of love only the devil could not understand.
