@Pgmcos Yes my brother some of my earliest music memories were of Soul Train. Look, how COOL was Don Cornelius!? I mean his voice, the way he interacted with the cast dancers, the talent, camera, and don't forget those suits! I watched it in Black and White too. I had an African America bud that I had a deal with. You watch The Midnight Special and Don Kirchner's Rock concert and I'd watch Soul Train and we will talk. We discovered that music is what make us human and we got to better friends and found out about each other even more, it was the best. Be well and safe peace to you and yours. Peace, love and SOUL, rock on brothers and sisters.
To all my fellow Brothers and Sisters out there who grew up poor and watched this when it originally came out, on a black and white tv, peace and love.
I am a 62 year old white man grew up in the South. My childhood in summer was get up early on Saturday do any chores I needed to do then watch Soul Train on my tiny black and white TV. After Soul Train ended it was time for Baseball Game of The Week, I grew up dirt poor had nothing but great great memories from the entire decade of the 1970s. It was an interesting decade to be a kid in. Not perfect by any stretch but we had great music from all genre. I wouldnt trade it for anything.
The band played this at my son's wedding in Jupiter Florida - lot of colors and different religious beliefs but a wonderful time and "City Lights" sang this as the last song and we formed a line holding each other at the waist and danced around "Admiral's Cove" and showed how united all people could be. Ironically, my son's best friend was pretty much a racist and he actually led the "Love Train!"
how right you are jamz, this was my era the 70's best years of my life, my daughter who is 43 now and she loves most of the 70's hits, especially disco, "oh those were the days", it has to be said that the 70's was the best decade ever, and I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could.!!!

I love this song for its message! We are all brothers and sisters. It’s time that we act like it! I want to be on the Love Train! I'm almost 74 now, and still waiting for it! I pray that one day our world will be at peace, and war and hatred will only be words in a dictionary of the past. What a wonderful world it would be!

Still on the love train since an African diplomat gave a poor white boy £10 in 1973 with a big smile on his face. Changed my life and been giving back and passing it on ever since on the Love Train for Humanity.
Yeah my brother I like to call that "pay it forward". We are here as individual people, but we are all connected together because we are human beings! We aren't really all that different. Different hair types, skin tone, and various types of eyes and other features but basically the same. For the most part a lot of the parts are interchangeable and sort of look the same. Its our own species that for some reason wants to put others in special "boxes" so they can find reasons not to like them. I for one have never understood that. My folks brought me up to respect everyone. Mom said " you don't have to like everyone, but, you have to respect them for what the are, different". Now she finished with "you might find that there are some people that you can't stand, or they want to hurt you, defend yourself if you have to, and then get away from them, they aren't worth your time" Be well and safe peace to you and yours.
Mamn I don't think it's a good idea to let the 23rd president of the United states open up a dimensional rift that projects ones misfortunes onto others therefore destroying italy

👍Yes, it was fun. Gerald was always organizing us kids into a singing group. 😂 We would prepare “shows”, practice and then perform for our parents before the night was over. It was fun. Sometimes we’d be over their house and Mr. Eddy would come home (we knew he was a famous singer but it was still a mystery to us kids 😂). He was there but not there. Sometimes he’d speak to everyone and retreat to his room to chill until everyone left. One thing I definitely remember is there was always good food and laughter in their house.
