*Hey group. Out of all of the gear shown today... what are the TOP 3 Items you would take with you into the Wild for Camping / Survival?*
DropForgedSurvival The blue water filter w/container, the necklace fire tool, the Funky blade that looks like you could use as a weapon too.. (sorry I’m bad with remembering the actual names of things. (The mora knife comes in a close second to the funky blade tool.) You could survive with these three items.
DropForgedSurvival i liked the silky-boy saw the crkt neck knife and the 8 inch fire steel/ferro rod!
Chris, for me, I like and want the fire plugs, the Fire Strip rolls and the survival 3 filter water filter. I already have a Bahco Laplander I bought quite a few years ago when I was still bow hunting for $10 and it is still in great shape! I don't have a need to use it very often but it's been a solid performing saw every time I need it. So yeah, I have a few "wants" but I have most of what I really need. Good video! Weather is getting better here although they're calling for snow through tomorrow so I am obsessed with fire! LOL I love Montana!!!
Out of that Show Case, I'd take the Renovo Water Straw, the 8 inch Ferro Rod, and the Pocket Boy. The back edge of the Pocket Boy would be the Scraper for the Rod, the Saw would be used to make a Bush Shelter, and my Camp would be as close to my Water Source as I could get. But I have a lot more Trees and Water up here in the Great Lakes than you have in South Texas.
Solid!
I have one of those minimalists, I used it for nearly 2 years opening cases of ammo to sell in the gun shop I was working at, it held up great. If you need a small knife for work those are awesome. I really need to pick up one of those pocketboys. Nice and tiny and does a great job from what I have seen.
Wait until our big double digit outdoor trip.... that silky saw! Holy crapola
As a poor old lady, I ❤️ these economical survival tools! I’m sure there are many like me out there. I’m sharing this video on Marfoogle News facebook. 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing. This is my favorite playlist thus far on the channel.
Hey Chris. Those Fire Extinguishers? Put one in your Vehicles. Never can tell when you might come across a Car Accident and YOU are the First Responder. And it might be Burning. Lots of Good Kit. Thanks for the Video and Take Care.
Good point.
@@DropForgedSurvival Actually, got that one from Chris Tanner a couple of years ago. I think he keeps an Extinguisher and a Trauma Kit in the Driver's Door Pockets. Which reminds me to add a Headlamp and one of those Car Rescue Hammers to that door gear. But I'm driving a Minivan, so I've got the room. Hope this helps.
Very good advice, I think I might do that when I get a car.
Thanks for the video Chris. As always you show a broad spectrum of gear regardless of a persons financial constraints. Budget minded or high end items make up your arsenal. Thanks again keep up the great work. You are much appreciated.
All gear can and usually is useful... we always hunt towards finding the best.
It's 1 am est, and I'm in a tent cold but putting in my time supporting your awesome videos brother!!! I appreciate you and look forward to being out in the wild with you soon!!!
Awesome man! Be safe and Enjoy the outdoors.
It's so good to be watching your videos again after the exams!
Welcome back bud! How was school?
@@DropForgedSurvival It was awesome
That is a nice collection of items under $30.00 dollars each. I have about all that I need in my backpack and EDC bag, but love what you have showed us.
Thanks alot
The three items i would take from your list are as follows. The morakniv. the water bottle filter. Silky pocketboy. If you want to get full on bushcrafty, you can pretty much make anything els you would need with just the knife and saw.
Good picks bud
Toaks has a titanium tongs option. I believe they are called the Titongs and are something like $20 on Amazon and eBay.
I bought them they costed $30 nor including shipping
What do you think out them?
Showing right around $20 on both Amazon and eBay as of now for me.
Not quite in "elegant" solution but it would definitely work.
Morakniv
Hydroblu water bottle
Large firesteel
That being said, I would cheat and sneak the Silky saw in as well. That thing is a beast. God bless!
That isn’t cheating... lol 😂 That is prepping
Hey man! Do you have a good suggestion for a micro/EDC survival knife? I have thought about the ESSE 3, but it was expensive anything cheaper?
Something to remember about bears , a polar bear has short hooked claws for grabbing its prey , a brown bear has medium length claws for digging , a black bear has long claws for climbing and the panda bear has sporks .
Great tips, thanks Chris! Glad to hear you’ll be reviewing more of PMP Prep Box gear. I’ve enjoyed every box I received and the gear for the money spent is awesome 😎
Oh yes.
Love the vid Chris been a long time you haven't done one of these.....everything is spot on love the gear choices.....
Thanks bud! We filmed this months ago!
Would you ever be able to do a full inventory of all the survival gear you have collected over the years? I know I cant be the only one who wants it, and if you could, I bet we would all appreciate it. Thanks.
(Puts out a 60 hour video)
All fantastic choices, especially for those who may not know where to start when it comes to Survival Gear and don't want to spend a fortune. Much love for the shout out as always and great video!
Thanks yall!
Great stuff. Thank you for showing it to us, Chris and the DropForgedSurvival crew
Thanks alot brother.
For your hygiene bucket, you should
Get biohazard bags to add to the hygiene bucket kit.
Very interesting and thoughtful Idea!
Great gear for under $30! Thank you my friend I’m proud to have 4DB products in your picks!!
Thanks for making and selling quality kit
Opinel makes some good folders at a good price, I have battoned with a number 8 without damaging it and when properly sharpened it can out cut almost anything if you haven't tried using an opinel yet I would suggest reviewing a #9 carbone.
I got an opinel no 08 with the wooden handle as a gift. Lightweight. Perfect for food preparation.
Awesome man I have been waiting for more of these just because it’s cool to see all the new gear that is oddly getting cheaper and better every year
I like all the items that you showed, I like all the fire starters and everything good video
Glad you enjoyed it Robert!
Do you still have your skrama?
the gear is awesome as well as the gloves, love the gloves, use to use them when I worked on the flight deck on the ship, they can take a beating and last a long time
An amazing selection of budget gear Chris. Keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoying the Series.
you make me cry seeing your videos in Brazil there is none of this
That is awful to hear my friend
Hi...
Great video...!
Thanks for sharing this information with us.
Would you please supply the link for the Survivor
filter straw...?
Thanks.
Have a great day and be blessed.
It is added! Thanks for letting me know
As for me , through many years of experience , I ditched all those gear and gadget bags and use quality plastic bags. It beats wet gear plus it cuts down on your weight and gives you extra water containers , dry is light , wet is heavy. I live in an area that is low woodlands , swamp and marsh , I carry an inflatable/co2 life vest and a very small air mattress as we are subject to flash flooding . I also carry some items to distill water as we have fresh, brackish and salt water . Oh , don't use those zip bags with the plastic zipper tabs . enjoyed the video
Oh the life vest is a good one :)
Received my Get Outdoors t-shirts. Top quality materials and great logo. 👍
Thanks alot. Glad you like it!
Somewhere, somehow, the survival community went completely off the rails when it comes to knife tangs. So lets put something in perspective here: By modern usage, do you know what else isn't full tang? Excalibur. If there was a King Arthur, and if he had this epic sword, it wasn't full tang per the definition currently used; nor are swords of the samurai; nor are pretty much any sword, except maybe small swords and fencing foils. The tangs on all of these get smaller to fit into sometimes-substantial handles.
Are the modern-style full-tang knives stronger? Probably, but I've batoned with a CRKT M-16 folding knife and got the job done without any damage to me or the knife. When I hear about somebody breaking a Mora, it reminds me of Dutch Bushcraft Knives trying to figure out how much abuse it takes to do the same damage to a knife edge as Survivor Lilly did with allegedly-regular use. They wound up having to hammer their knife through a frying pan. I managed to keep my CRKT intact by not being a bonehead about it.
If you can't afford to spend much on a knife, don't feel bad about not having a full tang knife. Yes, Mora knives are mostly either truncated or rat-tail tangs -- which means what, exactly? It means you shouldn't be a bonehead when using one. You know, it's kinda like how you don't do woodworking by swallowing a fistful of speed, and then chasing it with brute-force application of a three-pound hammer to the butt of the chisel. There is a middle ground between twiddling your thumbs and whacking the spine of a knife blade with a log.
Ahh... Right! Lol I love when folks do this!
@@DropForgedSurvival I should mention that I wasn't accusing you of being a bonehead...just for clarity. Especially because your job here includes reviews, you need to be rough with your gear :-)
Definitely agree, although the langmesser was a sword type with what would be considered full tang by modern standards, so there were historical full tang swords even if they were just a way to avoid problems with the guilds.
Enjoyed the video and some different ideas. I know the grilling "braaing" was just for video but needs some work. Watch how the guys do it in South Africa. Lol
I would be buying at least 8 sets of titanium or stainless steel sprongs for my family. So tell your friend get on it. That’d be HUGE!
I have trying for some time now for sure.
DropForgedSurvival how do I reach him 🤣😂🤣
You should check out a husquvarna folding saw it’s really good and it’s only 29.99. It’s my favorite thing ever
Do it you can’t go wrong
My favorite folding saw for the money.... “we have showcased it before in other $30 or less videos” the Corona Razor tooth Saw! $19.99 and its killer
Dropforgedsurvival pls test one out
They are awesome
I’m 12 and I live in Vermont and I go into the woods like all the time and my dad owns a business named tucker machines and we sell tons of husquvarna items in clouding tractors snow blowers chain saws push mowers AXES and finally the folding saw and I have to say it again it’s amazing so please look us up on Facebook and BUY a husquvarna folding saw and test it
The huge fire steel, the survival straw and one of the knives. Not sure which one. I liked them all.
Could you do a 5 day survival challenge with this kit and make a new mini camp
I like your channel a lot. You can get subtitles in Portuguese for your Brazilian fans. A big hug, my friend.
I can look into creating subtitles... but typically I need a good translator and as of now.. I can't afford one.
@@DropForgedSurvival I understand, send a hug to me and speak my name (Marcus Vinicius) I'll be very happy ok
Could you please add the link for the filter straw wanted my hubby to take a look at it for his gear.
I will
Its added
Now I want to go out and buy EVERYTHING in this video! ;) Nice job!
Well.. That might get expensive. lol
Hey i loved ur video like always great review I have my eye on some of the gear in this video for sure
Tip: don’t use abc powder fire extinguishers they will corrode everything excluding stainless steel!
gotta have my coffee! there is no other option!
Hahaha.. I hear you
Do you recommend that everyone should have at least some basic survival kits set up? I’m pretty new to your channel and I’m finding it so interesting and starting to think I should maybe start setting up some basics?
Good selections !!!!
Thanks
How long does it take you to edit a video? Takes me a day or two. But I been doing it for a long time.
And u need a hand I'll be moving that way soon
Greatly depends on the content.
@@DropForgedSurvival well when I go your more welcome to use my gear or maybe we collab.
Would love to see a titanium version of the SPRONGS.
Nice vid
Good stuff! Spew is a great blade!
I need titanium sprongs in my life! I have plastic ones too and they have slightly melted on me...would love some more ridged sprongs, they are probably one of my top favorite pieces in my kit.
Toaks has an option called Titongs for around $20 on eBay and Amazon
It’s available in Amazon I got them for $20 they are great
I much prefer the lansky sharpener over the outdoor edge.
Wives channel????
Great video as per usual 🙏🙌👍 Sharing for those who think I’ve lost my mind, because I prep 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙌🤣❤️
I linked her in the video... check "Outdoor Momma" she is there.
Is that book as good or better than sas survival guide?
I really want the minimalist clip.
That orange pen is dope.
That 4db ferro rod is beast I'm gonna be putting together an Amazon order soon and I might add to cart maybe even that necklace.
I'm gonna stop before this comment becomes an essay but damn a ton of great gear here
I don't like Comparing books... but I will say this... develop a small library for general knowledge and area specific things such as the mountains, wild edibles, etc.
The SAS survival guide is an awesome resource.
Heard about you from @Jovahs Angel. Lots of cool stuff in the video. 👍
Thanks alot and Welcome Aboard.
Right on, Bro!
GREAT VIDEO! Now I can find the twin flame lighter you showed but I can’t find the orange case it goes into. What is that called and is it on Amazon too?
Pyro vault its in the description
A great video on bargain gear. Also a great video on how to use your gear to overcook meat. :)
I like thoose Zip Stiches, when does the big Version come out? tried to find them online, but only found the small ones.
Love thé vid
Thanks bud
Thank you for a whole video without screaming HOLY FAJITAS!!
I came close! lol
Every thing in that book was taken from Bradford Angiers ( not sure of the spelling ) How to Stay Alive in the Woods !
Looks like some amazing products
Always
Hai
Just wanted to stay stay safe and keep up the great work from new Jersey
Thanks Todd!
Hey what's the price difference between the fire necklace u show vs the Wazoo one?
A lot of awesome gear
Love your chanel I'm watching a lot of your videos resently
Thanks bud! Welcome Aboard.
I have an idea $50 amazon survival challenge
Ok thank you so much!!
Keep on rocking out in the open
One problem with the "FirKit " on everything... it you tell someone to get my fire kit they are going to bring you survival kit... put a patch below it saying what type of kit it is... other than the real fire kit
If I wasn't dieing, I would buy some.. would love to try some out before I die..
Why what happened
are you dead
Hey! I think the link for the zipstitch is missing
Its there! Look again
Great video! Thanks!
Personally, I prefer aluminum over titanium. Far lighter and is more conductive.
@@cemrenurkaraca5641 Only acute in if you heat it up to extreme temperatures, it can form gasses and it is not conditions you can recreate in your home or in the wild. Aluminum is however slightly prone to corrosion, so you don't want to cook Spinach or Rhubarb, or a tomato sauce in Alu pot, because you would get a intake of it, and over time ruin your gear.
you never ever talk about swiss army knives, are they bad?
I own a few and have spoken about them... We have almost 800 videos.
My Grandpa gave me my very first knife for my 10th birthday
and it was a small pocket Swiss Army knife.
I’m now 56 and and I still carry one to this day.
I’m sorry to say that the one my Grandpa gave me so many years
ago went by the wayside several years ago, I’m now on my 4th one...
Not bad, one every 14 yrs...!
I would be lost without mine as I use it in some fashion each and every
day...
In fact, I just used mine a few hours ago.
I have a lighted magnifying glass that I needed to use to read some very
tiny instructional print pertaining to a new pair of Bluetooth ear buds I just
got.
When I went to turn on the light I realized that my battery was dead.
The battery compartment cover is held on by a single small screw.
Instead of digging out my tool box and then searching around until I found
the right size I just reached into my pants pocket, pulled out my Swiss Army
Knife, accessed the small screwdriver on it and in less than a couple of seconds
I’d made short work of swapping out the old battery for a new one and was soon
able to get my Ear Buds up and working...!
I wouldn’t leave home without it...!
I hope that this helps.
Those epic wipes are great
Wish you would have told what all that other stuff in the background was.
13:49 that's what she said!
@Da beast "sometimes I find 14, 16, 18 inches a little too long"
I was looking for this comment
What company makes/manufacturers that BADASS MACHETE BEAST??
Where'd you go bro? Haven't seen any new videos lately
Don’t worry, he’s just filming the 830 day survival challenge.
What is the name brand of that long handled spork?
I found one on Amazon from TOAKS that look almost identical. www.amazon.com/TOAKS-Titanium-Handle-Spork-Polished/dp/B01M69WHEA/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=titanium+spork&qid=1558403688&s=gateway&sr=8-3
toaks makes a ti sprong set
I saw it... it is decent and not what I imagine for the sprong.
@@DropForgedSurvival yeah i have them it is light and durable but you cant apply too much pressure when grabbing things because they slip past eachother and lock up but they work well for the most part
Nice
Thanks bud
Can you add the spork link?
You forgot like 3 or 4 links. Especially your wife's channel😱😱
But I won't tell her lol
They are there. check again.
I love watching these videos but most of the time I miss the maker/name of the manufacturers of the items iam most interested in?? Iam kinda half deaf!!
That is why I LINK Everything down in the Video Description.
You should do more gear videos bro solid vicoe
We still do them in between our outdoor adventures.
The treants decry your crimes
Hey man. Love your channel. Lot of great info and like learning new ways to do things and get ideas to try. I've been looking into starting a similar channel ( not trying to compete. Lol) and was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how and where to start, so on and so on. Maybe shoot me a message being that i haven't figured out how to yet. Anyways, love the videos bubba. Keep it up and stay safe while having fun
dude, watch survival lillys vids and see what a real site is about. granted we all wind up in different environments. go camping locally, you will see what you actually use, wish you brought and what you need to buy for your kit.
I need that folding saw! I want the hydro blue and the water filter. I'll take one of everything while I'm at it. Seriously you always find the coolest stuff.
hope you survive the next disaster when you actually need to use 3/4 of his bug out shit.
Did you got the folding saw? And where? Didn't find on the list. Thx
Awesome gear
13:45 it doesn't hit hard chris, you hit hard.
smoking in the outdoors...that's classy
Have you given up on the Knisfor? ~~Susan
No... but there is a ton of gear out there. We stick with kit for about a year or so.. but after several months and videos... time to experiment with new kit.
My dude that machete is shaped like a Egyptian khopesh
Yeah... Im with on that!
What's up with the creeper mustache?
I did it to match your avatar.

CNN: "This just in.....deranged prepper weilds a fully semi-automatic knife."
Survives on neon orange bullet vibrators🤣
"Between 9 and 12 inches is my sweet spot."
Love the video
Yaaaaassss!!!🥰
(broke teenager laments on how expensive prepping is, sees this video)
Yep
You totally burned the bacon man lmao
What's wrong with that lol
You should start selling your survival kit
