    You should choose one minor clan, start at the battle of okehazama and make your way through this chaotic times. It would be very entertaining to seeing how you would act in a time where Oda Nobunaga try’s to claim the land.

      My personal “What if” is if the Takeda (under Shingen), Hojo (under Ujiyasu) and Uesugi (under Kenshin) manage to form an alliance to deal with the Three Unifiers, while in the west and south the same thing happens between the Mori (under the old Motonari), Shimazu and Chosokabe (the idea being that the Shimazu and Chosokabe get to take full control of Kyushu and Shikotsu respectively while the Mori receive aid against the Three Unifiers and against the Otomo), around the time of Nobunaga’s march on Kyoto (so that all the big-name individual daimyo would be still around and with their clans on the rise or at full power).
      Nine of the biggest names in the Sengoku Jidai in three different alliances. Let them fight. Bonus points if this prevents the Imjin War from happening and saves a lot of Korean lives, or if the Ashikaga Shogunate takes advantage of this to prevent itself from getting overthrown (because everyone who could pull it off is busy fighting everyone else).

    Nagashino to me is one of the saddest moments/battles in samurai warfare... The Takeda (primarily Shingen) was the only clan that I believe possessed power and ambition to defeat Oda Nobunaga, if only Katsuyori had made better decisions. I think Uesugi Kenshin also had the power and prowess to do so, but I don't think he had such an ambition.

    • @AceMoonshot
      @AceMoonshot Рік тому +4

      I feel that if Uesugi Kenshin had lived another 10-20 years, then even without overwhelming ambition, necessity would have brought him to the larger stage. Given Kenshin's alliances, I feel Ieyasu would have switched sides. Effectively dooming the Oda. But ultimately, Ieyasu would likely still end up on top. Albeit with a different power structure.

      That is assuming his sons can survive his demise.
      The thing about all the really iconic Sengoku Jidai big-name clans is that they were hard-carried to success by very few, and often only one, individual for each clan, and then basically fell apart in the generation after that. Ieyasu avoided this issue by outliving all the other such people and playing the long game to consolidate a country-wide power base for himself; if he dies partway through this process all bets are off.

    It's fun to think if this had happened in real life and a Takeda was one of the Unifiers...but reality is that Katsuyori was not his Dad by a long shot...and squandered the strength of the best cavalry force in Japan that day...and gave the Oda clan the victory they needed.

    • @DarkSeresutia
      @DarkSeresutia Рік тому +2

      they had no chance tbh, the power of their lands was just too much in Oda favor
      ultimately i think its Shingens fault the Takeda loses, Shingen got too many enemies on all sides when they are even weakest than Hojo by numbers
      Oda had weaker enemies like Asakura etc and still had problem with them, so that thing Takeda stay strong up to the 1575 is an achievement at its own
      I think Takeda should ally with both Hojo and Uesugi nearly at all costs and go all in vs Tokugawa to destroy him, it was the only chance for him to at least have chance vs Oda later.
      Basically Shingens war vs Kenshin should end after it became clear Kenshin isn't an idiot like Shingens previous enemies or even Murakami.
      The same goes with Hojo.
      The weird diplomacy of Takeda vs Uesugi and Hojo is a puzzle to me.
      Their goal never did contradict themself, they should ally.
      But Katsuyori couldn't decide which one ally to for far too long.

    • @DarkSeresutia
      @DarkSeresutia Рік тому +2

      @@lonl123 it was rather problematic cause Uesugi had some sort of rights of the land of Kanto Hojo wanted to conquer and part of it he did conquered.
      So Uesugi had bad relations with Hojo for a long time up nearly the death of Hojo Ujiyasu ,a bit before Shingens.
      I think Shingen did waste too much time waging war with those 2 and later Katsuyori was before the enemy he had nearly no chance to defeat.
      In like 1565-70 Takeda Should already have the aliances with those 2.
      But they had war with Hojo even in 1569, then Shingen died 4 years later, then Katsuyori wasted some time to prove himself etc.

    I mean tbh, the only way this could happen, is if you watch Shingens cutscene in Samurai Warriors 2, where Shingen fakes his death rather than actually dying and is present in Nagashino.
    Shingen would just troll the fuck out of Nobunaga
    Why do I say this?
    Honestly, it sounds so much like Shingen to do this. He was after all, a really clever tactician. Faking his death then using Nagashino as bait to trap Nobunaga would of been one of the most ingenious plays in the Sengoku era.
    Imagine that. You hear that Shingen died on his way to Kyoto, Katsuyori is used as bait to lure out the Oda forces and meets him there. Suddenly, Shingen walks up and with a smirk, tsk tsk tsk at Nobunaga and Ieyasu. Oh no, it was a trick! Ambush!
