I'm applying for dental hygiene right now ! Luckily a dental office let me shadow so I did for 3 days to have over 20+ observation hours. I'm all done with my prereqs so now I'm just about to study for both HESI and the TEAS. I have time so I'm not concerned but I do want to stay on top of things! Thanks for this video!

What did you do for your prerequisites? Like do you have to take classes before getting in dental school.
I’m actually in the process of applying to the program now. I passed my TEAS with a 78.7% hoping this gets me in. The only thing is I have all A’s in my pre-reqs but two C’s in Anatomy & physiology 1&2. Praying I get in🙏🏽🦷💕

They are requiring new test now called ATDH if anyone can help or give tips how I can study for the test.
how long did the whole process take my school waived the HESI until after 6 months into the program oh and also im a medical assistant do you think that will help my candidacy
This sounds like fortis 🤔. I went to a fortis meeting and took the wonderlic test. Anyway, I look forward to hearing more about your experience !

what year of college were you in when you got into dental hygiene program? i'm considering taking a sem/year to become a dental assistant, because my school of choice is so competitive.. any tips on how to take that path to become a dental assistant, then applying for dental school?

Hey sorry i never responded to this. I graduated college already and thought i wanted to go into dental school. The more i learned about hygiene, i realized that was what i wanted to do. I applied to a hygiene program like a year out of college. (I hope that answered your question lol)
Becoming a dental assistant is different by state i believe. Are you in Texas by chance?
@@ElleSimonee i’m a year late but what did you major in college? I’m so lost right now with all this stuff lol. I’m bound to enter community but they don’t offer any dental programs. The only one correlated is health science or biology.

Hey, i think every program may be different. My program allowed for you to take it twice and they would take the higher of the two. Definitely check with each program you’re applying to. Thanks for watching, subscribe because I’m going to upload a lot more on this 💜
Can dental hygienist become dentists?
Hey Cassandra! Dental hygienists can definitely apply to dental school like anyone else but it’s not the next step for hygienists. I’m sure it helps with acceptance into a program just because of experience. I have a video talking about this that I’m posting on Thursday or Friday! I hope you subscribe so you don’t miss it 💜💜

@ElleRDH So just so I understand clearly after the prerequisites you can apply to any of the other programs under associate in applied science?
Yep! Most prereqs are the same for the associate programs but double check the requirements for the school. Some will want more or some may even require less!
