I’ve been binge watching your dental vids and i’m inspired! I’m taking my pre reqs right now and I am devastated because i’m gonna fail my statistics and anatomy lab 2. So far i’ve passed a lot of my classes but those. I’m retaking them next semester in hopes to pass them and the rest and apply to the program by next fall! I’m also applying to the same school as you considering it was my first choice!

I applied again this year and I find out if I got in on Aug. 9. #fingerscrossed Your response to me on your other video was so positive and encouraging and I just want to say thank you for that. I applied two times, the first time I didn't get in, second time I was on the waitlist, I did apply again and i'm waiting to get a response.I've been feeling discouraged because I've been denied twice. I applied to dental hygiene programs around in 2019 and did not get in. I took some time off and decided to work as a DA. I am now back in college to bring up my GPA, I originally graduated with a 3.0, I am now trying to bring it up to a 3.5. Once I am done with prereqs, which may take me a while, I will reapply. Hopefully I'll get in this 2nd time around.
@@mariamlovescoco I did finish my prereqs. I emailed multiple schools and they said some of my grades were low. I am bringing up my grades in the classes to get A's and not C's.

Hi! Do you know if the degree can be used in other job fields? I found a program that's 1+ year, but not sure if the curriculum can substitute for other types of jobs.
With a bachelors degree in dental hygiene you can do research, teaching, etc but if it’s just an associate normally it’s just chairside, i think there’s a few exceptions but they are rarer.
Yes! But at one point I took chemistry, microbiology w/ lab, & a&p w/ lab. (I had this schedule because I had to retake classes & stay up to date) It’s a heavy load but it’s definitely possible💗

Thank you! My program takes the highest grade and calculates it into the gpa for the math science portion but they still look at your overall gpa as well. Sorry for the late reply I hope this helps!❤
Hello! I live in Florida. And I am trying to do a dental hygienist too. Going to broward community college. There, in order for me to become a dental hygienist they offered me to major in health science. I have pretty much all the classes, like chemistry, biology, physics, microbiology. Literally everything. One thing is confusing me, do I have to do all these subjects in order to become a dental hygienist? I just finished my anatomy 1 and my lecture teacher was telling me you don’t even need an anatomy to become a dental hygienist. But my advisor settled up all the classes for me. Wanted to know am I in the right trac? Or I am going to a community college that’s why the requirements are these? So confused right now. I don’t know what will happen in my bachelor. If you could clear this out. Thank you. ❤️
It depends on the average gpa of applicants and how your school’s point system works. My program calculated over all gpa & math science gpa amongst other things it varies.

Why would you apply before taking the prereqs? That’s probably why you didn’t get in the first time.

I applied to 2 different schools the first time in 2020 and got alternate positions for both schools. In 2021 i only applied to 1 and got in.
Will they accept you if you have a C in like one of the sciences but did good in all the other classes ?
It depends on the average gpa of applicants and how your school’s point system works. My program calculated over all gpa & math science gpa amongst other things it varies.
