BTW you can set a binding to hide the cockpit for the plane and just have the HUD showing. by default i believe its LAlt + F1, that way you can't see the in game pit from your own cockpit.
I've just started my dcs adventure, searching, learning, plane manuals and all the stuff but dude this is most amazing thing I've ever seen... the effort and dedication is something else.. awesome job !!
Dream setup stuff right here man! Congratulations on the awesome setup. Your attention to detail and effort are super appreciated. Now I've got a bit of a model to go off for my own F16 sim-pit. Thanks!!
It was nothing like that one, crude basic even but a lot don't know Thrust Master made a F-16 cockpit. I bought it "90s iirc" and had it setup for other pilots who came over. Particle board construction with plexi panels with dozens of buttons, switches with your big old 50 pound CRT monitor perched in front.
Hi! Amazing set up! Can I ask you a question about software? How had you done to make DCS recognize the input from the cockpit? And in the reverse way, how had you done to all that clocks move with the output from DCS sim?
:)) thw startup procedures i belive is the same so i just neded a basic guide as I have no experience on f 16 or dcs i just like to buld them not that much time to actually play unfortunately
@@blacksnowcockpit I was grinning, because I do the same. I think there's a few checks and tests missing (in the stable) but overall it works fine. I still ülay Falcon though, each time the DCS AI with it's stupidity drives me up a wall. With these home cockpit builds, I just don’t understand how you can turn around and look off to your sides and behind you. Sorta defeats the entire purpose if you can only stare straight ahead, no?
Well if you have Just a HOTAS and a big monitor in front how do you play ? You have options as track ir .. a big cuved screen and projectors or in my case as i don't actually play on them just like to build them for testing purposes I simply use a joystick on my stick
@@blacksnowcockpit ahh I gotcha. I think trackir would be sorta weird with that because the outside would move but you’d still be staring straight at the cockpit. I think that mixed reality setup some people have going is really cool.

The big problem I have with the high fidelity models is that it drives this. It becomes more and more about pushing buttons than about actually flying, fighting or developing tactics to use the plane for what it was meant to do. I've seen channel after channel, project after protect and I don't think anyone has time to become good at flying. I think the trap is that they think they cockpit fidelity is going to make things easier on them because they know where everything goes but they disregard that they have limited attention and time. I've seen everything from a cardboard cockpit, to company made ones to a professional aeronautical engineer using an actual F-16 cockpit with PLCs and a hemispherical screen and I still think the same thing. The cockpit becomes the hobby, not the simulator.
That is the point .. I barely fly and mainly when i am testing but i do love building .. this its about the Hobby of building a cockpit in a small shed with minimum of money .. it is not about the game .
Depends on what you enjoy doing. For some the cockpit IS the hobby. For me I know having the switches accessible for weaseling makes a huge difference as I dont lose SA while switching ecm positions or cms programs
I have the svg files for most of the pannels if that helps wverything else is arduino and switchea .. and Is for sale also if intrested but due to the size and weight its colection only unfortunately

trouble is with that is most servers block that view online so it would be hard to find a server to fly in

That looks great!
All you need is 5 tv screens surrounding you, cockpit with canopy, a 360 gyro, anda suit.
That is absolutely insanely cool. Wow.
No track IR... How are you visually tracking targets?
I would have done mixed reality with that. If I could afford it lol
good job!!! you could also add the wortwog stick its the same one as the f16
Thanks .. and regarding the worhog stick uff i would if i had the money 💰 :)
Actually i would buy an old theustmaster cougar bit that one its still like 250 second hand
