The 3D model of this setup if available on my website: www.undeadparrot.com/simpit-3d-model-star-citizen-dcs/ and I just recently upgraded the setup with 180 degree curved screen, so check that one out too: ua-cam.com/video/EfFCBRN1yhk/v-deo.html
This video is great… i always see cool elaborate cockpit and my love of playing Star Citizen with only mouse and keyboard, this video motivates me more to step up my immersion. Thanks
im planning to build one that can also house a racing sim . You can build something similar with 8040 aluminium profiles which offers a lot of flexibity and mounts
@@UndeadParrot yea this is brilliant and tbh, it's more DIY to use wood then aluminium as you can cut wood with basic tools where aluminium is a bit tricky
Stumbled on your videos by accident. I am starting to build my cheap/ghetto cockpit for SC/ED/FS/VTOL etc.. I also happen to have slat ceiling. I think it's a sign XD.
I usually encourage people to hire a local woodworker to build them a cockpit based on my plans. Would probably be much nicer also, most of the time I have no idea what I'm doing. :D
@@UndeadParrot Thank you sir. I am in the process of building a similar rig. My sim is almost the exact same dimensions. I don’t have a laser printer or 3d printer. I do have shapeoko cnc. Plan on trying to make the mounting plates out of wood . I use to fly Helicopters in the Army, I am retired now. Thanks for the info. Stay well and God Bless.

Can you please tell me the dimensions of the cockpit?
I think you missed a step? I did not see anywhere for the beer mini fridge. I worry that such a massive oversight is a sign of mental distress. Do you need help accessing mental health care in this time of crisis?
I'm not going to buy it tomorrow but what about the sound system and stuff like that I'm going to be the next video to or what I mean come on now I'm I'm I'm I'm trying to trying to figure out how we can work with each other cuz I really like that a lot and I can see you the first person I really took more interesting time consuming and I know it's like I said complicated but they just help me out here so I can figure out how to do that and it will be really really cool God I'm the same person that just you know like I said you already have my email on my phone number and everything like that already just learned but like I said I really really really really really got to you got to figure out a way to make this work prefab and put some of the assembly together whatever it is and so I can work it out or whatever it is and we'll see what we can do I mean as long as it's not a fortune I can work God bless you thank you hope to hear from you

Mind blowing…you did put so much work in this, but the result is …wow
Thanks!
a lot of work with a lot of skill ! 👍

I wish I had the space for a simpit for my vintage space combat games... and the money to hire someone like you to do the wood/electronics work.
Amazing, You are very skilled. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks!
I looked up making a flight sim in unreal engine 5 but found this… I’m now subbed
Thanks!
Very talented, skilled and creative person
Just impressive...great build
Super impressive work! I'm pretty sure this is the only video that is in both my cabinetry and flight sim playlist XD
Your work is amazing! I was inspired by you to get the Yellow/black tape. The steel plate is awesome. I think my next step is to buy a 3D printer lol.
Thanks! I can recommend 3D printer, especially if you're willing to learn a bit 3d modelling too (Fusion 360 has a free license for personal use).
Wowzer my dude

Yeah, I used it to build table mounts for joysticks before this. I just enjoy woodworking, was quite fun project.

Absolutely! :D
Kiitos man...! However I doubt if I will ever find the courage to make this for myself. I think I need to fly you in to the Netherlands

thats sick
I need this for Elite
I want to do this so bad but I'm not a very handy guy! lol
Nice job!
Thanks!
Wow, that cockpit is a LOT more finished with the game. Maybe someday the game will be as ready as your hardware set up !
dude, buy a dust extractor and a cyclone!
Fantástico.
Do you have a cut list? or did you build one from the 3d model? if so what tool did you use?
I have my 3D model available here: www.undeadparrot.com/simpit-3d-model-star-citizen-dcs/
@@UndeadParrot yes I saw your pinned comment. I was asking if you have a cutlist or how you turned your model into a cutlist. What tool did you use?
@@jadams5311 Basically just took note of the pieces I had on Fusion 360 and started cutting, hoping I had enough plywood.
Is it possible you could send me general dimensions. thanks Steve
It's roughly 160x160 cm.

I think it's something around 200 x 140 cm.
What was the total build time and price
Built this over 6 months (I have two small kids so no unlimited time). Cost, excluding PC and peripherals, so for the DIY parts, was around 800€.
I can build this, best part most of the wood I need I can get for free!!!
