i think the curse of harrenhall is sort of a power being where people believe it is kind of deal - it is generally not given to powerful houses either because it is believed to be cursed or whatever other reason. So it is thrown around willy nilly to whoever as a bargaining chip or a gift for someone in favor less so as it is given to a powerful house to be their seat for thousands of years
Why of all people in planetos is Adam Velaryon significant enough to be going to the Isle of Faces?? I genuinely want to know what it is about his character that even warrants the link
We definitely need to talk about the houses that have some ambitions on ruling the vale, the ones Littlefinger is inviting and so on. There are a few chapters where Sansa is talking to a girl from one of the big houses. This is interesting aswell!
I’ve been reading GOT because of your content, I just finished a feast for crows and am waiting on Libby to deliver a dance with dragons. You should apply to narrate winds of winter since Roy Dotrice passed away (and just wasn’t a good narrator to begin with unfortunately) I’d listen to the entire series again if you read it
I can't help but feel the boarders of the different kingdoms will be redrawn by the end, with the Riverlands being carved up the most. Perhaps the Twins is given to the north as compensation for the red wedding, and if kings landing burns to dragonfire I keep wondering if it will be abandoned as the capital entirely. Maybe king Bran will want to set himself up in a Weirwood close to the isle of faces and turn Harrenhal from a castle into the capital city of the seven kingdoms and the crown lands and the Riverlands get carved up and merge into one large new crown lands? I've clearly been left with too much time to think about this 😏
Common people had no surnames in these ages. Jenny was not the daughter of someone high born. That was the problem and why Dunk had to give up the crown.
Harrenhall is definitely cursed. And the curse is the extinction of any house that commands the castle. Not only has every house to command heron Hall in the past gone extinct, but every commander of Harrenhall since it was taken from Lady Whent has died without an apparent heir, with the notable exceptions of Baelish and Tywin. Baelish has no acknowledged heir so if or when he dies it will be the end of house Baelish. And the way things are going for the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, I wouldn't be surprised if they go extinct by the end of the story. Tyrion May survive to the end of the story, but he has no children and seems unlikely to produce any.
@@Lotschi Tyrion is deeply traumatized in a way that has so far prevented him from forming healthy loving relationships with women who are capable of reciprocating his affections. And he's currently obsessed with his first wife Tysha, who he will likely never see again. Nothing in the book so far indicates that, that is likely to change. But I'll admit it's not impossible, anything could happen in the next few books, if we get them. And as for Lannister cousins, let me first clarify that I am referring specifically to Lannisters of Casterly Rock. The Lannisters of Lannisport are technically a separate cadet house, similar to the Karstarks, or the Gultown Arryns. I think the Lannisport Lannisters would be exempt from the curse of Harrenhall, as none of them have actually commanded the castle. There are several Lannister cousins of The Rock remaining, but between the enemies that Tywin and Cersei have made, (including Tyrion) and the Long Night, I suspect none of them will outlive Tyrion. Not saying I couldn't be wrong, but the aforementioned factors are why I think I'm right.
Robert's description of Duncan being in the middle of the most important events in history made me think of a new nickname: Forrest Dunc.
Audio sounds much better this time! No fading in and out. Thank you!
Robert stopped saying "and all the rest of it" and it makes me sad. good stream as always!
"It has to be said"
Why do the Lannisters have such big beds?
They push two twins together to make a king.
Incredible live, appreciated every moment of it.
Thanks for all your content! Idg is the first asoiaf channel I started watching, still one of the best!
1:00:10 Ooh, that was a good question about Dunk. But if he's from the city, it's hard to say because he could be just about anybody's son.
Good to have you back Robert. Love your asoiaf coverage.
I will enjoy this at work today, shame I couldn't make it last night. Thanks as ever Robert

…hence being given to not vers established rulers making them vulnerable to loosing the game of thrones.
And so the curse fulfills itself.

That was one of the most interesting parts of F and B. Really makes you wonder
LONG LIVE HOUSE BRACKEN AND HOUSE SHAWNEY LOYAL TO THE TRUE KINGS OF HOUSE BLACKFYRE🗡

Can confirm that Dracula was great

Yes it would be wonderful

But if Tyrion ends up being Lord he will somehow manage to get a wife and children.
And isn‘t there any Cousin of Tyrion or Tywin left?

Lots of Dune is very dumb.
The movies might be great but the books are so stupid.
