- Toyota’s business strategy has been “world domination” for years now. Where, however, in a sea of sports cars like the GR Yaris, the Supra, and the GR86, does the Toyota Yaris Cross come in? Is this a good Toyota? Is it a good subcompact crossover? It’s being pushed as a hybrid variant, but how does this mid-spec gasoline-powered 1.5 V CVT version, priced at P1,312,000, prove itself worthy of the asking price?

Got ours too! The V Dark Turquoise.
As a young couple with 1 kid (2 yrs old):
- super comfy si baby on the backseat thanks to the aircon vent
- my wife feels like passenger princess 2.0 (good leather seats, comfy dahil sa cabin interior)
- no issue on power going to Baguio, but use S gear. I don't use PWR mode during uphill drive.
- BSM is good, very anti kamote
- I felt more confident to do parallel parking, thanks to 360 camera.
- I bought ISOFIX harness in BabyCompany to properly install the childseat in the middle of second row. Now I can fit 2 more adults at the back.
- I love how techy it is, fits my character and lifestyle.
We bought it August 12, 2023. Filed the reservation on the day it was announced.
Now May 3, 2024 = 5512 KMs
No regrets and no doubts. Toyota is Toyota kahit Daihatsu pa yan.

The rest of that got cut off. I was going to say that the standard GUI is rather simple looking, but the display itself is very crisp, and when you go into Android Auto, it's very nice.

Exactly! Fuel economy lang talaga yung bentahe nito. Cguro depende na rin sa preference ni buyer if they want to go for average interior and fuel economy, they will choose this. Pero for a more premium cabin and better performance in terms of power, they will choose its competitors.
Medyo hindi pogi si geely. Si creta after sales support, ma hirap hanapin tapos ang liit ng casa nila, si hrv naman expensive.
The Asian is much more palatable than the global to be honest… 😊
I disagree w niky that the yaris cross is the only one in its class with a power tailgate and 18in wheels.
The coolray has them both at an even cheaper price. And a turbo engine-- all the works.

yes most filipinos are ignorant on how toyota is milking the ph car market with refaced diehatsu cars..
and yet they still charge premium for the toyota badge and filipinos still purchase it out of ignorance.
that said there are some good japanese brands (with reasonable pricing ) and some good chinese brands (with reasonable reliability)
