    Just purchased my Yaris Cross HEV. Thanks for the review sir! It really feels like the latest Toyota Vios but it's much more comfortable and very fuel efficient.

    Parents loved the car since we have elevated parking space that sedans are not in their choice. Great smooth acceleration and nice fuel savings.

    Correction: YX HEV are 18-inchers (you guys might be referring to the YXG which are 17-inchers). It's in their brochure too :)

    Going hybrid actually saves you more than just fuel itself, you also save from wear & tear of engine components including break system as less heat is being generated overall compare to a traditional ICE car.
    There is a review from mechanics that HEV is cost effective to maintain than regular ICE.

    Great Review.💚
    Toyota Yaris Cross stands out in the market because of its Exterior & Interior Design plus its Fuel efficient capability.
    Best value for our money indeed. Also Daihatsu-Toyota built this car really well unlike previous Daihatsu-toyota cars. Overall, this is another good and reliable car from Toyota.❤

    Great car despite the flaws. But lets be real your getting this car because of fuel economy. Its not fast but it will take you from a to b. Its not perfect like every car there is but its a toyota. But if you want fast then go for other brands that will satisfy you.

      Definitely agree with you on this one. Although I would rather go for the Corolla Cross G (or V if I need TSS, cruise control, etc) instead of the Yaris Cross mainly due to better drive comfort/experience. TNGA vs DNGA is not a myth and you can clearly see this for yourself if you test drive both vehicles. Also, NiMH is a proven battery from the 1st gen Prius which lasted 10-12 years before being replaced. Li-Ion is yet to prove its worth and that's why NiMH was even retained in some Lexus hybrid models.

    • @CrossCuntyRic
      @CrossCuntyRic 6 місяців тому +1

      @@richardchico2546longevity-wise NiMH’s low density nature actually helped it survive for longer periods of time compared to Li-ion. The primary advantage of Li-ion is faster charging (eh hindi naman EV ang hybrids so anong use?) and better power release for the motors (in Toyota hybrids the engine does the hard acceleration, not the motors). Other than that, no benefits anymore. It’s more expensive and lahat nag aagawan for lithium.
      And yes one EV battery can produce up to 60 self-charging hybrids or 8 plug in hybrids.

    Im using yaris cross v for 10 months now and the fuel consumption accdg to my gauge is 12.5km/ltr, so the 14 km/ ltr yaris hev isnt worth buying when you consider the savings you get vs the extra 300k you shell out. i wished you had that analysis in your review.

    Be that as it may, the 400k price difference against a regular ICE will already give you 5 to 6 years of fuel.. around 7 to 8 years recovery period b4 you can reap the benifits of a hybrid car. And by that time, the battery already needs changing. Another 300k to boot..
    Over all, hybrids dont make sense. Stick to the good old ICE.
    Youre welcome.

    • @CrossCuntyRic
      @CrossCuntyRic 6 місяців тому +15

      Which is funny because ONLY in hybrids will you see people getting too much obsessed with recouping investment, pero you wont see these same people asking kelan mag breakeven ang Fortuner LTD over a base Fortuner G. Nobody searches for how to recoup the 500k overcharge on a Raptor or Navara or Forester or Mazda.
      And yet all of a sudden people are more eager to account for ROI on what is essentially a company car for many many people. And people forget it’s rather affordable.
      The fuel savings can go as much as 7k a month. For many people, short-term savings are just as equally important. Lalo na mga Pinoy. Ginhawa not to spend 7k additional monthly just for gas.
      Ultimately the advantage of Toyota hybrids is that the battery does NOT need to be replaced at all. Even if it dies 12 years later (the average span of Toyota’s batteries). Because unlike Nissan Kicks, it has an actual driveshaft. It will operate even with its batteries busted.
      These are all baseless paranoia.

    • @richardchico2546
      @richardchico2546 6 місяців тому +6

      @@CrossCuntyRic I think their human nature of not trusting changes/new technology only kicks in when hybrids come into play. What's even funny (also) is that hybrid technology by Toyota is already more than two decades old and is always being continuously improved. In purchasing cars, the fuel cost saved is always relevant as it may even be taken as a reduction in the cost of the car when paying it in 5 years. Saved fuel cost may instead go to the monthly amortization of the car.

    • @CrossCuntyRic
      @CrossCuntyRic 6 місяців тому +3

      @@richardchico2546yun nga eh. Fuel savings are especially more obvious kapag company car since hindi naman sila yung gumastos for the car, hence why would they care about the added price diba?
      And yes sa amortization as well since hindi naman sobrang laking difference yung monthly mo between the HEV and non-HEV. But if you’re saving up to 7k a month, malaking bawas sa dapat isipin yan for the installment.

      For people who travel almost everyday, you only need 3-4 years to recover the 400k price diff
      Not only that you are paying for the hybrid system on that 400K
      You are also paying for moonroof
      Pioneer sound system
      Much more punchier acceleration
      Smoother E-CVT
      More powerfull AC
      More reliable Engine
      The list goes on.
      Also the 4th gen Hybrids like the ones on yaris cross hev, those batteries last longer than you think.
      Some 3rd Gen prius are reporting 15 years of use, and dont even need to replace their fuel consumption just became a bit more. So theres that
