Sosina K I used my ARABIC to learn AMHARIC here in Washington DC USA. DC has a huge Ethiopian population and I worked at a place where the majority were Ethiopians and many of them didn't speak English well. First I sought out all the words shared by the two languages and then learned the other words. I became almost very fluent in AMHARIC. But unfortunately I had to quit the job and eventually forgot the language unfortunately. No practice
I’ve just decided to learn Arabic and because you compare MSA with the Levantine dialect I believe that your channel is most appropriate for me. Unless I spend lots of time talking to myself I will probably find a native speaker that will enjoy chuckling at my attempts to become 2nd grade level fluent 😂. It may be interesting if you actually read from a newspaper, magazine or book and showed the words in MSA on a screen. Hearing and seeing Arabic may help us students learn vocabulary and be able to read it in a shorter period of time. Thank you for considering my thoughts.
Please continue with the Palestinian dialect lessons!! It would be absolutely amazing if you did full videos in Arabic in the Palestinian dialect!! Thank you for these videos. I am reclaiming the language because of you! 💜
I think it's best to learn the proper Arabic dialect because it can help a lot at school (where you will have to use proper Arabic). It nice though to have the Palestinian dialect as an extra as the end to show the differences. But please keep the proper dialect ❤️
I personally love that you do msa and the shami dialect ...I feel even better educated knowing both.... immersion in the Arabic language and culture is important to me.
Thanks a lot Maha I really love lessons like this I'm pure English and as such I'm finding it a bit difficult to pronounce but all the same I love your lessons
love the way you teach both so that we know the right classical way, as well as the colloquial language.Really appreciate your effort and dedication. I also wanted to know the different ways of saying "thank you" and the different ways of responding to when someone says " thank you". I think there was a lesson you had regarding this but a refresher will be wonderful. Jazak Allah khair dear Maha.
I am happy you do it in msa but love the shami dialect . For me i am from the caribbean and enjoy your lessons. It has enhanced my arabic very much. Because of your detailed explanation. Thank you
Yes please Maha try to speak more arabic with us step by step in your videos it would be really helpful to get used to it every time we watch your lessons. But please slow down the pace you speak it really fast :-) Thank you for your amazing job I learned a lot from your channel keep it going ! Ma'salame
So, in my opinion, this is a good lesson, however, at the end when you speak Arabic (goes with all native Arab speakers), you talk too fast. Either slow down, or use Arabic subtitles, for all to understand and to learn. Shukran
People aren't gonna slow down for you in real life, so you need to get used to understanding Arabic at speed either way, which you can use the end of this video to help with and keep rewinding until you can make out the words in it.
For me - yes, I very much like videos where you do most of the talking in the Palestinian dialect, like you did at the end of this video. I understood everything you said there, and it was not too fast for me, but when I tried to listen to people speaking in "tv series" I have a really hard time following them. Thanks very much for all your videos! Barek Allah fiki. بارك الله فيكي , كتر خيرك
Very helpful having MSA & Shami together. Please continue the bright colored written Arabic words. They help my pronunciation & ability to identify the letters & marks in different parts of the words.
Thank you for this video (especially the contrast between MSA and the dialect version). Just one little question: If I want to say she's right for example, would that be Ma3ha ha?
Assalamu aleikum Maha. Le tue piccole lezioni sono sempre utilissime! Un saluto dalla Svizzera ❤️ Per favore ragazzi pregate per la Palestina e per la Siria. Please guys pray for Palestine and Syria. 🤲🏻
Girl you are amazing right now I'm talking to this very handsome loving Palestinian man and I can't wait to use all this today I speak Spanish and Italian as well so I just wanted to say thank you I can't wait to watch All your videos your amazing and beautiful person... I'll keep you posted 😊😁so excited
You are such a great teacher! I learn many words from you Maha. I think you should continue to teach both as modern standard is from all ive spoken too important though most i speak with are shami so i love that you do that as well.
2ssalaam 3leykum, another way to say You're right in the Levantine Dialect is صح (SaH), but this simply means Right! OR Of course! & is generally used as a quick response to a question or statement.
I like the way you break everything down and how motivated you are in teaching Arabic. I would prefer to learn the Palestinian dialect because it is understood either way. Would learning MSA make it easier to learn the Palestinian dialect ?
Maha, dai sempre delle spiegazioni approfondite, molto benfatte Mi piace anche questo confronto msa e shamy... bellissimo! Continua così! Sei la mia insegnante di arabo preferita 👏🏼❤
Really trully appreciate these kinds of lessons as the bring clarity how to use the arbic correctly while speaking the comparisons are very helpful indeed stay happi n blessed dear maha❤🥰
I would like a book like this video. That is with msa and shami with a cd .written in arabic with the whole grammar of both msa and shami. Please make one or suggest one. Tnx

Mumtaz, yakh’tee🙏🐾 Just subscribed. Hope to see more of these lessons with the Palestinian dialect vs. MSA. I come from a Palestinian line of folk where the “k” is pronounced “ch” among other vernacular terms & pronunciations. Would be great to learn more of the language outside the box. Shukran!
This sub-dialect/accent of the Palestinian dialect is what is referred to as Fallahi (which means the farmer) or in American speak, a country dialect/accent. This accent was more commonly spoken in the villages and rural areas of Palestine. Just like how people in the Southern United States have an accent or dialect that slightly differs from their New England or Midwestern brethren, the same holds true in Palestine and the rest of the Levant. Maha is speaking in the sub-dialect that is referred to as Medani (which means from the city). This accent is more common to the urban areas.
I really like these shaami v.s MSA lessons. It’s exactly what I need. Please continue with your shaami lessons!
Seconded
I love when you explain both MSA and dialect !!!
