Seriously - from the Olympic Stadium Montreal to the back of someone's beerkeller, playing to a handful of people: Carl Palmer deserves massive respect. This guy is clearly in it for the music. He taught me several years ago at a masterclass and you could not meet a more genuine, nice guy. Absolute legend.
In my opinion this is the best interpretation you could have with a guitar. The guys are good! and beeing able to see carl playing in high level(with people he likes to play) is the most important.
I Love This...Great Interpretation with these young musicians in the spirit of bringing them in and Totally Respect Carl. But..I Miss the Hammond B3 of Keith in this. One third of the Pillar..
man, everyone's beating up so bad on this poor guitarist. i don't think it is quite so deserved. of course it isn't a "note for note" interpretation, but that isn't what they're going for. i actually find it pretty impressive how he managed to rearrange so many complex parts for a single guitar, even if it is admittedly a bit rough around the edges. it's honestly more interesting (to me) to hear totally different and surprising take on a familiar composition, rather than listen to performed verbatim for millionth time.
The guitar sound should be last distorted, although they tried to play some of the keyboard parts correctly they dont sound the same as a real keyboard would, not even close, but thanks for the effort anyway.
Good try, but i think that the guitar sounds very sloppy and dirty, this song needs to be played with accuracy and presition , or may be they need to have More reharsal. I dont understand why Carl its playing with these guys in that conditions
although i'm impressed with the arrangement, i think the somewhat scrappy delivery would be much better served by eschewing the "heavy metal"-sounding distortion; it simply begs for a scrappier, edgier tone, along these lines: ua-cam.com/video/SJxd_Lu8VPA/v-deo.html
it would be pointless and GENERIC to have a keyboard player just mimic Emerson. This is like an exciting new ROCK POWER TRIO who happens to do some ELP tunes!
Deine Videos gefallen mir auf eine Gewisse art und weiße Vllt kann ich dir ein abo da lassen und du mir eins hilft uns beiden ein bisschen weiter aber wirklich nur wenn du willst
Bielatowicz sounds awful, never heard a dirtier interpretation of the tune. It's horrible. This is disrespectful, I wonder how CP make do with this. In "Eruption" at least 30% of the notes are thrown away
Carl, love you man, but the mix sounds awful. Guitar and bass has the worst tone I've heard. I think you should think of another song to play. I'm hearing the same song played on UA-cam where the musicians are masterful and even with some improvisation and an excellent studio room and recording, sorry Carl I would have never put this on UA-cam. But ELP being one of my favorite bands ever... I just can't listen to this! Just saying ... listen to Antoine Barel's cover of this song. Sorry I spelled your name wrong.
Agree with Giuliano Motta. The guitar work sounds disrespectful, disinterested and needs more refined effects work! This kid needs to know that are playing with a rock legend!! I like the idea of making ELP with guitar, 'cause Keith and Greg are irreplaceable. The the guitarrist needs to make a serious work!! Carl, you are the Best, but i miss the amazing fills you used to do with 6", 8", 10", 12" ton tons on 1974 "Welcome Back My Friends..." live album. Nobody can do that like you. It's your differential.
If we had wanted this the band would have been Blackmore, mute Lake and Palmer... a guitar can't replace keyboards plus a voice. Abysmal, and made me lose any respect for Carl.

Carl Palmer the most of drummer of the world,he is wonderful! I love him!!!
8:37 spinning the drumstick, wiping the sweat off of his forehead, and never loses a beat.
Hats off to Carl, for doing this without a keyboard player. Gives the music a raw, King Crimson Red-era vibe.
In my opinion this is the best interpretation you could have with a guitar. The guys are good! and beeing able to see carl playing in high level(with people he likes to play) is the most important.
Danke für das Video. War ein großartiger Abend, Du hattest definitv den besseren Sichtplatz ;)
King Carl..65 and Strong as a Bull!! He is Still The Beast!!
carl.... my hero my inspiration and my god on the drums xxx
first quality music. It is sad that this show is in such a small venue
tecnica, força, pancadaria...Palmer tem tudo isso e a vantagem do legado do ELP
I want that drummer!
Carl Palmer es un maestro!
Thanks for sharing it.
+Bruno Felix
Bitte!
After the Rush's end his is the best drummer in the world in activity in a masterpiece. Give me a break... Wonderfull of life
Carl is the best with neil alive or not...
Buenísimo! Adoro a ELP
I Love This...Great Interpretation with these young musicians in the spirit of bringing them in and Totally Respect Carl. But..I Miss the Hammond B3 of Keith in this. One third of the Pillar..
Emerson did not play a B3,ha used a C3 and a L100.
I like this it´s good a new way the tune... Carl is really good still playing like a 20 year old guy
Without voice and keyboards is like a technical rock-fusion track without the greatness of the original version that is highly melodic and musical.
When I cross myself,I say, Emerson, Lake &Palmer.
The drummer is so powerfull!
fantastic !!!
Guitarist reminds me of a young Al DiMeola!!Great version!!

Exactly! I'd be horrified and bored if it was a keyboardist just aping emerson!
Wow!!!!
Guitar sounds like a buzz saw! Palmer is slummin'.
Carl Palmer there, Carl Palmer!

That drummer is pretty good.. is he famous ?
Where have you been hiding for the last 40 years?
Hahahaha
He's Carl Palmer, a drum hero! I love him, he's so beautiful and talented!
Less distorted guitar i meant!
Carl Palmer,,,,,Allright
Needs more cowbell.
Na. Woodblock!
YIKES. TALK ABOUT CLOSE QUARTERS.

Why can’t Carl just get a keyboard player as the guitar doesn’t work anywhere near as well
it would be pointless and GENERIC to have a keyboard player just mimic Emerson.

Pity, bass not loud enough

Guitar tone is awefull.
Worst guitarist!
He doesn't understand this tune at all
Absolutely awful....it just doesn't work! Guess that's why there playing in someone's front room to 10 people?

bit agricultural to me.sorry..
...agricultural?
Amazing!
