Seen the band at Norwich November 2011 - they played this and it blew me away - great video Tony - Guitars are something else. See ELP at Newcastle City Hall in 1971 - Pictures at an Exhibition
Saw the show last night in St. Charles, Illinois....INCREDIBLE! I have been an ELP fan from their inception and I am still amazed at Carl's agelessness and undiminished virtuosity. The reworkings on these songs make these timeless classics have a new life....BTW Paul on guitar and Simon on base were amazing as well......
Wow, I am very impressed. I have been an ELP fan since forever. I never really felt interested in seeing Carls band do ELP music because of no keyboard. Well Carl (and the rest of the band), you got my interest! Thank You!
Saw it in Montreal (April 26, 2013)... it was amazing!! I was seated in front so I could see everything well and feel it!! Thanks Carl Palmer (and Paul and Simon were good too) for these joyful moments!!! Amazing!
I've seen a few of your vids of CP and his band and I must say I am floored! I love ELP, but also great guitar heavy rock like Rush, Eric C., Jimi H, etc. These guys rock the ELP classics! Yummy! Now I have to see them live. Will be watching to see when they come to ny next.
Just saw them at the Yes Festival in Philadelphia (well, Camden)....I had no idea that Carl Palmer's band did a GUITAR version of ELP music, but man, did it ever work! Excellent! And I'm so glad to find this video that you did, Tony!
In truth when the Legacy project started I was underwhelmed. Carl's drumming was brilliant as ever but the two guitars appeared unsympathetic to the music. How times have changed! The whole thing has gelled together magnificently! Superb!
o melhor show que vi esse ano de 2014 . carl palmer para mim o melhor tecnica feeling e uma poderosa batera , os musicos de apoio se encaixaram perfeitamente , . obrigado
Thanks for the upload!! The audio is tinny like it was recorded on a smart phone. Therefore, it is a bit of a tease as he Carl is so magnificent. It is still worth a listen, I just wish the fidelity was better.
I've seen the CP band now a good half down times, Asia a dozen times, but sadly never any ELP :( Regardless, the CP Band is an end onto itself as far as I'm concerned. They worked their asses off ever show I saw across three cities. 😎
Thanks for this one. I also am a Carl Palmer fan . Does anyone have any idea of the sticks he is using on the vid or around that period of time or for that matter , presently? Or sticks one might think similar etc. ? Any suggestions welcome.

It probably was a commercial decision to form a guitar trio that plays ELP materal. But to me the most important part of ELP were the keyboards. And quite frankly it was the only important keyboard trio of the rock genre besides The Nice. So in a nutshell - I think Carl´s band is a disgrace to ELP - sorry, but I hate it. There are enough guitar trios out there so there was no real demand for another one.

I saw ELP in the late 70's and I still rank it as the best concert I EVER saw.
Awesome stuff! I would have never thought these ELP classics would work with lead guitar replacing the keyboards, but Carl's band proves otherwise!
Makes me realise just how much Carl was the backbone of a lot of ELP material. Love this new invention ...
Now Thats about the 50th time I've watched this . Awesome 👍

i love it....
Holy shit! I was not expecting this version of pictures. The version ELP came up with for the 90's performances was lacking. This is just to awesome!
Guitarist's name is Paul Bielatowicz.
Please carry on until the end Carl !
Saw it in Montreal (April 26, 2013)... it was amazing!! I was seated in front so I could see everything well and feel it!! Thanks Carl Palmer (and Paul and Simon were good too) for these joyful moments!!! Amazing!
That guitarist definitely went to the Steve Howe school of guitar. Amazing.
Oh please, please, please come to South Florida!!!! It's lovely here in the winter months!!!
I saw this trio at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD. Totally awesome. Carl ATTACKS the drums!
Incredible performance. I saw ELP do this in the early 70s. This is truly amazing.

It will be great D. Saw them in Holland exactly a week ago and I will not forget how impressed I was... and still am. And nice guys too.

Saw Carl in Las Vegas, very good show. The dude can still drum very well.
Saw them Monday night in Atlanta, exellent show. Still on top of his game.
This rocks!! Great musicianship. Looking forward to seeing Carl's band perform this on their Fall 2011 tour.
Worlds best Keith Emerson on guitar !
Paul is BRILLIANT 🎸🔥
Thanks Tony - great
Better than I thought it would be.
In truth when the Legacy project started I was underwhelmed. Carl's drumming was brilliant as ever but the two guitars appeared unsympathetic to the music. How times have changed! The whole thing has gelled together magnificently! Superb!
Love the guy but personally I'd rather see Carl branch out into other music that features his drumming and doesn't have the ELP baggage.

We miss you Tony!!!!!
Paul Bielatowicz (Neal Morse) on guitar
Simon Fitzpatrick-Bass
Carl Fucking Palmer
carl palmer plus ces deux jeunes virtuose, c'est monstrueux
Me gusto la forma como pasan desde "El Sabio" a las "Variaciones en Blue"....bien!
Awesome!

CP is one of only 2 rock drummer I know of that use a cross grip...the other being Mick Fleetwood. Maybe some of you out there know others?
Just saw him at Yestival last month. He's incredible. Still, he turns me on!
Thanks for this one. I also am a Carl Palmer fan .

Cheers Tony. Did you spot Carl's fluffy Gong beater losing it's 'fluffy' at the end...?
Who are the guys in the band? I mean, the guitar and bass players? Beacuse they played very great.
Paul Bielatowicz on guitar and Simon Fitzpatrick on bass. But I’m sure you know that by now
I'm sure Modest Mussorgsky is flipping in his grave, but it's sure nice to see rock musicians pay homage to classical composers.
nice! interesting........
Epic!
Magic
masters
Cozy Powell, Steve Smith, Todd Sucherman ........ FWIW, I have never seen MF play traditional ((cross?) grip.

Alguém sabe o nome desse guitarrista😯?
Lo tocan muy parecido a la versión de 1971. Faltaría Emerson, lástima que estaba jodido del brazo
de putamadreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
kinda wondering what the guitar is for , strange can't use a keyboardist?? how is this anything like ELP?
Why isnt Rachel Flowers playing Keith's parts?
Keith thought she was great...Because she is.
