First time I wasn't either at work otherwise preoccupied when Lemon streamed. And it was a really chill, relaxed, and very fun stream. Definitely gonna come back for more streams in the future! ^^
i feel like this challenge should not be only doable, but easy, because of how freaking good pyromancy is in DS3. so many enemies are weak to fire. and Izalith, the area where most enemies are resistant to it, is entirely optional.
I got a good ways into a Pyromancy only run, stopped after the Demon King. Was a little worried about him, but then remembered Poison Mist was a thing and did that to him.
I have an idea for you Mr. Lemon! (though it'll probably be a long project); Baldur's gate 3, improvised (thrown) weapons only. No swords or shields or other items defined as weapons (like javelins, daggers, etc. not even if you throw them). Improvised items and throwables only. Vials, firebombs, chairs, other monsters. As long as it is NOT classed as a weapon, and you can throw it, it is fair game. I thought of it as soon as I discovered you can get flinging boots; you throw a shoe, it does psychic (probably Morale) damage, and comes back to your feet. Yes. You can get Pilipino shoes in-game! There are also items like the fling ring that boost damage of thrown items, and hats and such that give accuracy bonuses. AND if you are strong enough you can fling chairs, furniture, and you can grab and throw your enemies into other enemies! ...This just -screams- to be done. Other allowances; You can use your party, but they can only throw stuff s well. Passive, defensive, and healing abilities are allowed. Illithid powers are allowed as long as they do not cause direct damage themselves. If there environmental methods of causing damage they can be used as long as they are triggered by throwing something at it, or a direct skill-check application like a push or use of a skill.
just came off a pyromancy only run, and i either didn't know or forgot lemon did this stream. Fireball, Great Combustion, Boulder Heave, Great Chaos Fire Orb, Chaos Bed Vestiges, Black Fire Orb. I love them all
I finished a pyro only run a few weeks back and it was mostly a great combustion run...Try it Lemon, it'll make your life easier. You can swing it like a dagger, so short be the cast time.
I know Elden Ring isn't for you, but watching you play souls games helped me adapt to how they play, as in run past everything and loot, vs. All the other games i played the idea is destroy everything, then move on. Really helped when my friends wanted to play with NG+ characters with most of the world at their disposal while i beat it and called it good, and rushed through alot of the map to get to the bosses
I wonder if he knows about the gate shortcut in Catacombs to Wolnir, or if it's just pride ("I won't need to open the gate; Wolnir is free.") I didn't know about it until about the 3rd run. D'oh!
@@lishishur293 You know the room near the giant rat, where Tsorig invades? Or rather, the room where all the skeletons are lying on the floor near the bridge? There's a lever there to open the portcullis.
This guy is great. I feel like it's Saul Goodman playing video games and commentating. (Bob Odenkirk vibes) I watched so many DS1 playthroughs and they were top tier.
honestly a good chunk of the Elden Ring issues you presented are Fromsoft issues, enemy reuse (they reuse so many enemies/bosses in most of their games)/placement (ER open world is bad mob group but the specific areas/dungeons do placement SO WELL), so much running through areas (at least in ER torrent makes things faster although its controls are awful and that makes it feel worse than it should). not enjoying open world is totally understandable, ER did it better than most but there was and still is a large influx of games doing open world and i do feel like that's soured a lot of people. i think if you do a self contained/restricted beat an area before you move on it might lessen the open world blues or maybe do it co op mod with someone? I'm sure there's many routes you can take to make your experience enjoyable.
The Elden Ring DLC does do some nice things with the open world exploration. While it still feels open, it funnels you into limited angles by obscuring your vision and bottlenecking area entrances, so enemy placement is more tailored. Still has the copypasted boss problem tho, and it still takes far too long to traverse certain oddly empty areas even on horseback. They're extremely pretty, but a time sink. IMO the big legacy dungeons are more fun than the main game ones outside of Stormveil. A firebomb run through it would be an absolute nightmare. It gives you fun new pots, but not the time to throw them.
incredibly late to the tip party, but the demon scar has a lot of benefits, with one or two drawbacks. It has zero weight, and really low strength requirements. So you can dump into faith, intelligence, and dex (if you are using the sword itself in combat). The weapon art is quick, does decent damage, and leaves a lava pool on the follow-up for an extra hit while you back off/reset. It is a catalyst, so no belt-management for pyro spells. But the cast time feels slightly slower, and the magic adjust is... middlingly good. So you lose a little damage potential if you are min-maxing. But if you aren't one to habitually use the heavy attack option of your weapon, why not use it for ranged murder instead? This also makes it one of the very most versatile weapons you can get your hands on in the game. Mixed blessing; Pure fire damage, no split with physical. Single damage-type means no doubled-up resistances. but it also means fire resistance really hurts your output on some bosses. Also, physical damage boosters like sword ring and flynn's ring do.. well.. nothing. But dex scaling (and so dex ring) and the clutch give benefit to your weapon AND pyromancies. con; No kick animation. instead you have the curved-sword flippy-do. It can throw off a fight if you forget and try to boot down a shield. Niche pro; If you are going dragon-bro, the twinkling torso stone also scales on the same stats so soft-capping faith and intelligence is not so much of a waste if you want to ground-pound your enemies after a riposte or backstab. Side tip; Chaos fireball is technically higher-damage and also lower magic-point cost to use compared to chaos vestiges. As long as you get in the additional hit from the lava pool, it will always do a higher total than a hit of chaos vestiges. The only advantage vestiges has is a faster cast and faster movement so enemies are a little easier to hit.
I always miss the live streams since I am busy Saturdays and the time difference. I would have to be up at 5AM to watch from the start. I am looking forward to watching all of the live streams I miss. Great job as always Lemon. When are you going to do a stream with Blood Orange and Grapefruit? I miss the lemon sour hour.
Hiya Lemon! I have an idea for a game to play and maybe do challenges of! It's called Othercide, it's like Xcom meets Darkest Dungeons, and I've been having a blast trying it, I feel like even if it doesn't make it into a video you'll still like it on the "cide" lol
Been going to sleep to your ds streams for a couple of weeks now - wasn’t expecting to find a new one! Shame I missed the live broadcast. I had a thought earlier - how about a fat-roll only run? Can’t be worse than the immolation runs, right?
Wondering if since lemons issues with blasphemous seems to stem from lack of build variety, if perhaps the last faith might be a better option for him. Wonder if we can get him into that
They are good listens, but world/lore just feels like too many aliens put a finger(or equivalent) in the pie (lands between) then 200 years later you decide which finger that's left gets the moldy crumbs with you
Late to this party but i love er because it does more of what i loved of ds1/2 where you have so many different options of starting your run want to go after this boss first have fun itll suck but you can kinda thing. Ds3 doesnt have that at all imo so the game has no replay value for me because you have the same order of bosses 90% of runs and makes the game boring as hell to me.
Sorry about that. But when people ask why I don't play them, I find it's best to just be honest about my reasoning. A game can be both a great game and a bad fit for some players. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive. And my not liking a game doesn't take away what makes it fun for anyone else...or shouldn't, anyway.

I'm so happy the horn is back, I can't explain why but it's such a unreasonably neccessary part of your streams for me xD

And pyro isnt even 100% fire
I love putting Lemon in the background, listening to him while i do staff.
Specially when he answers questions of the community
Watching you struggle with the cathedral parkour was some of the funniest shit I have seen in a while, I wish I caught the stream live

Oh noes, don't do that in Dragon Age Inquisition.... Or you might be, stuck for a VERY long time in one of the early areas.
Hey I love all your videos you got me to play all the soles games for the first time thank you for making me aware of this awesome series
Apparently the main Deacon is hiding in the object in the middle for phase 1. Poison Mist can be cast into it and poison him directly before emerging.

I always end up playing a pyromancer, but I have never once STARTED as a pyromancer. What does this say about me?
I still don't get the lore for the "wedding" in dark souls 3, what was the purpose of that
Blazing today you say?
Man I love lemon so much but the copius ER talk is no fun, gotta skip past every time
I wish people would stop asking about it
Yorm is going to be easy because pestilent mist does damage as a percentage of max hp. 1 or 2 cast to get the ball rolling then play keep away.
But it's not a pyromancy 😢
Pestilent mist is a sorcery unfortunately
