im excited to watch this, just started my first ds3 run!
You should have did the first run with luck and killed anri for the sword, than end on strength or sorcery because those are probably the strongest and best to end on... Especially strength because you would already have max faith and max int meaning you could use the ringed knight great swords and just spin to poise through everything.
You play luck first so you get the maximum drops possible and you can sell them for that tiny extra bit of souls

Hey JK I've got a good challenge run I've been thinking of suggesting to a Dark Souls challenge runner such as yourself: DS1 bosses but in the order the OST suggests, that being Taurus,Gargoyles,Pinwheel,Gaping Dragon, Quelaag,Iron Golem, O&S,Sif,Ceaseless Discharge,Centipede, Four Kings,Seath,Niton,Bed Of Chaos,Ancient Dragon,Priscilla,Gwyndolin,Gwyn, NG+ Sanctuary Guardian, Artorias,Manus,Kalameet.
You could throw in another restriction to make it harder, maybe give it a shot?

As far as I remember, there's two crawling mimics in this game. One is in Lothric Castle that you encountered, the other is in Irithyll Dungeon at the end of the rat and basilisk filled hallway past the path that leads to the large room with 12 or so jailors.

felt that part where you mentioned how difficult Friede used to be for you. i remember losing my mind while streaming it to friends for days on end but in a recent run it took less than 30mins of attempts while doing it early-ish. feeling yourself grow better at the games as a whole is such a magical feeling

Even when you're strong, dexterous and lucky... a tricycle run is no child's play. Nevertheless, you managed to collect enough toys to arsenihilate everything in the game.
Well except for that stupid strike damage dealing Executioner's Greatsword. That sword is pointless if you ask me... but since it eventually turns into Gael's ultimate weapon, it's merely the tip of the ashberg

There is a second mimic dog in DS3. You'll find it in Irithyll Dungeon. It drops the dark clutch ring.

Onikiri is a C/C weapon once upgraded. You can see it in the inventory just before the Nameless King on the DEX cycle.
Damn, I knew one was gonna slip through the cracks. This run made me realise how many weapons have illogical scaling in this game
@@JKLeeds Tis true, the worst offenders are the ones that only do physical damage, but arbitrarily have Faith or Int scalings and requirements to them.

I have 1000 hours in DS3 and wasn't aware it was possible to kill the Stray Demon _without_ breaking his legs.
I think Nicholas cage would be a good actor for derplexed, as he also doesn't look like he knows where he is
Loved the dramatic slow-mo for the Ancient Wyvern drop attack. Unironically makes me smile. Reminded me of this one American Football clip of a squirrel running out onto the field between scrimmages (or whatever they're called). The cameras spotted it and zoomed in, and the squirrel started sprinting the entire length of the field, and the commentators were going wild cheering for it and it even passed the touchdown line, and the whole stadium roared with glee! Genuinely wholesome moment in an otherwise very serious and numbers-focused entertainment show.
But of course Babs is not a squirrel. She is a fierce, fierce lion XD
Ds3 is the only game I've gone into ng++ on and i remember crying at points, the fact you did this with base health and fp is mind boggling for me.
Shackling yourself by not using Gundyr’s shackle to boost your vigor and endurance is quite a challenge runner choice.

16:56 There is actually one more I remember, another crawling Mimic in the sewer-section of the Irithyll Dungeon, past the giant, before you turn into the room with the 2 giant rats and the room with the 50 million jailers. If you go up instead of turning right, you find 2 chests, one is the chest with the key to Siegward's prison cell (makes a bunch of basilisks drop from the ceiling) and the other is a Mimic that crawls.

I found out about breaking the stray demon's leg fairly quickly on my first playthrough. My brother was like WHAT?! when I did it and I was like .. what? He also played a lot of hours and did not know this could happen lol.

I did see the stray demon leg when doing a clubs-only playthrough. There is just something about pummling ancient, incredibly powerful nightmares into submission by bashing on them with a variety of big sticks

I am nearly an hour into this video, by watching in bed until I'm relaxed enough to sleep and then pausing and saving the rest for the next day. Right now it's my afternoon nap, a personal treat for a project well done.
I've only seen it once with the stray demons legs shattering and that was on my third playthrough, and almost 432 hours into the game (I did a lot of being summoned to help people with the Lords of cinder)
Someone needs to make a list of everytime JK's inner dad comes out and puts a dad joke in his sentences
Could have called him Robin so he would be brave sir Robin running away from danger in the strength run.
There are two crawling mimics! In both cases, the mimics are crawling because they are mimicking the other enemies in the area. In Irithyll Dungeon, there is a mimic at the end of a hall that jumps around mimicking basilisks. Then the one in Lothric Castle is mimicking the hollows crawling on the ground in the room with them! Super neat little detail.
Your dedication to puns was more impressive than the runs themselves. Puntastic.

I decided a year ago to start playing through all my old Steam games I hadn't touched and it turned into 100%-ing the achievements.
Naturally I've done this with the entire Dark Souls series now.
I found that leg-smashing thing on my faith run when I had lightning-resin'd my Broadsword and spammed out attacks. I think it has to do with amount of damage within a timeframe but it's a very neat way to handle the demon being mostly ash at this point.
The Twin Prince’s sword is so underwhelming, especially when Lothric’s sword is just such a better choice. Greatswords in general in DS3 aren’t fantastic cuz they’re not fast enough but don’t stagger enough. Moonlight Greatsword is a notable exception, it’s damage is just crazy good. For pvp they do have one of the best roll catches in the game in their jump attack, and they’re decent for anti-ganking, but they’re still just not your best option most of the time

Fun fact about the claws. If u infuse them with a blood gem and max them out u can stagger the first demon as the second one switches to fire pretty consistently. It also does really good damage vs prince and I did this with about 25 dex
I love how JK is slowly using more Xenoblade music. I absolutely love that series, so for me his videos are getting way better every upload (mostly because he is making better content each time)
I'd love to start that series but I refuse to pay $60 for a decade old game with sequels. F Nintendo
@nolongeraperson i get that 50€ is a bit expensive for a remake, but whats the problem with having sequels? I dont understand that part, specially since every game has its self contained and self conclusive story
@@Kanteike because that just shows how old the games are. You can't convince me to pay new game prices for games that are intros into a franchise. The whole thing about bringing in new players to get hooked on a franchise and play the later games is to discount the originals to bring people in. More new players = more excitement and revenue for the newer games. You can't expect anyone to be excited about a franchise, especially when their games become outdated, that refuses to lower it's prices. It's just poor business to alienate an entire playerbase.

Like, the game was not supposed to have a sequel, but we as players ended up bullying the company so much we got it anyways
@Kanteike ...... it's not conspiracy, it's literal business. There are plenty of people who can tell you that they ended up getting into a franchise and their future games became day 1 purchases because they got one of the earlier games on sale or via natural price drops. (Like the Playstation Hits collections)
For your own example, there are also plenty of games that got sequels because an entire player base got the game at low price and said "Hey, actually this is way more fun than we expected it to be. Cult classic, give us more please."
It's not just my own opinion, you can easily find videos and memes about Nintendo not dropping prices, if that's the only way you absorb information. 🤷♂️
Considering you would have level 1 health and stamina all the way through, I assumed you would use the Gundyr soul in the first cycle for the Prisoner's Chain, since it is often used in SL1 runs.
Saying the Prisoner's Chain is "often used in SL1 runs" is a bit like saying the Grass Crest Shield is "often used in SL1 runs" of the first game.
Like yeah, you're technically correct, I guess.
I have no idea why the xenoblade 1 music fits so well with your narration of a dark souls run so well, but it does :D
I can't help but appreciate all of the punalicious ways you've lifted the triple threat challenge. I still can't ashimilate the very fact that there are varied weapon arts and I should use my elemental coats to shock the darkness out of the bonfires... Playing as a sorcerer was more enchanting, but seeing how you've hammered, clawed, and jackpoted those bosses down, it might be more interesting to lift weapons rather than sticks... Having found a smart blade does help my battles
I remember when DS3 first came out, my build was a quality/luck build. 35 STR/Dex and 40 Luck (after ng2 i think i got all to 40). Certain weapons got amazing damage with a hollow infusion. Dark sword had GS and halberd level damage, carthus CS and Lothric SS (before they became meta) at +10 has AR of weaker +9 GS. And bleed weapons (CS, katanas and scythes) were really strong too.

I actually broke the Stray Demon's legs on my first playthrough! A friend was coaching me through the game, and he said, "We're gonna go over and say hi. Just watch out. He can be tough." I proceeded to break the Demon's legs and kill them in six hits.

The other crawling mimic can be in the prison area where there is the giant, deep in the tunnel where you found a pickaxe. Mimic chest there is guard by rats. Once you defeated them you can have fun with this mimic

The endless puns hurt my soul. But I HAVE to appreciate the thought put into THIS MANY puns in a row.
If I remember correctly, by not wearing an armor piece, you not only don't get the absorption, but you also miss out on a flat defense increase. So you might think by not wearing a helmet that you are only missing out on a few percentage points of absorption , but you're also missing out on like 10-20% (can't remember excatly) of your total flat defense. So basically i said all that to say, just by wearing a cloth mask, your total damage taken from a hit will be surprisingly less.
