@@kylegrefe4399 ah, then you mean energy of impact (force is for modeling process over time, not instant things like impact). okay, that may make sense. actually, being clad in armor gives you more acceleration than drag (braking agains air), so I believe the velocity of impact could be a bit larger when armored. also, if you land on legs, then armor without exosceleton-like frame increases the impact on legs even if velocity the same. or if you land on the side, and your armor is not paddded and is not hard-framed, then the armor chunks from the other side will squish body a bit, possibly making some harm. but, armor is usually padded, which is good for energy dissipation and hard armor distributes impact over the larger region of body, decreasing impact to the each part of region. and some sets of hard-framed armor could work as exosceleton, protecting legs from the weight of armor itself. so... I think, it's maybe easier to break a limb or ribs when land on that limb when you wearing armor with heavy non-linked parts. but I really doubt that armoring increases chance of death due to fall from critical height (which is relevant to the case of dropping to majula pit).

I think a cursed weapons only run might be a lot of fun; using the Jagged Ghost Blade and Ghost Blade to start and then graduating to the Greatsword of Artorias (Cursed).

If you are talking about the scythe that doesn't look like a scythe. That's a war scythe. The first war scythes were just scythes with their blades mounted in parallel with the handle instead of perpendicular like normal scythes.
That isn't a scythe. It's a bardiche. A war scythe is an actual separate thing that came about as an evolution from what DS2 incorrectly calls a great machete.
@@Raggrum This is not, in fact, a war scythe. It's a Bardiche, a completely separate type of polearm. War Scythes had always been forged as weapons, the name stemming from a superficial resemblance.

As someone who had a reaper only pvp build with sorcery enchants, usually the damage sweet spot is where the point of the reaper hits. For hitting around shields, you have to actually position yourself so the point of the reaper hits around the shield. Too close? Blocked. Too far? Hit the handle so it does no damage. Took me around 100 hours to get this down. But when you get it down, it is honestly one of the best weapons in the game in my honest opinion.
I appreciate seeing people run through DS2. I just couldn't wrap my head around it and wasn't having fun with it, so it's interesting seeing what the game has.

the fact you have helldivers music playing when you dived into "hell" really caught me off guard. well done Lemon! can i expect to see challenge runs of a "beating an entire level 9 mission using nothing but fire nades?"
I made a whole grim reaper build in DS2 and learned alot about how the scythes work in the process. They have a 'shaft' hitbox and a 'blade' hitbox, the blade doing buffed damage, and the shaft doing debuffed damage. Its more consistant than it seems, but it depends on the scythe, some of them have much smaller 'blade' hitboxes than others, but its all about getting familiar with your scythe of chocie and learning the proper spacing for its blade to hit more often than its shaft.

I've been missing the lemon dark souls challenge vids and one has finally arrived, one that I really enjoyed because scythes are just awesome I'm pleasantly surprised though that ds2 being the first large boss amount souls game there's only 3 scythes compared to the usual one or two of each game ig at the end of the day it's similar to it's brethren
I love the story of the reaper coming about at the end of every age to put an end to the flame and extinguish it but it's embers are lit again but soon, the fire will fade...
Shirts off for power!! It's the same tactic in climbing when you're working on a route that is giving you hell, for some people, stripping off the shirt gives them more confidence and suddenly they can complete the route!
14:38 the reason that's classified as a scythe is because weapons were hard to make reliably back in the day, so tools being repurposed was the norm. A scythe normally meant to harvest crops was refitted and sharpened to be used more like a poleaxe. The more you know.
The repurposing thing is a common misconception. If you just put a scythe blade onto a pole in order to make it point forwards it would be too heavy and brittle to use. There is a polearm called a war scythe, but that name stems from the fact that the blade bears superficial resemblance to that of a scythe, not that it is made from one. Plus, the "Scythe" in the game is a Bardiche.
I chose either the perfect or the worst time to upload my DS3 scythe only run, depending on how many more dark souls videos people want to watch lol

Gravity is a Reaper, slicing webs and wings, plummet to the Earth now, child, hear Death's Windsong sing.
There, I made poetry to justify the gravity kills.
Got a soft spot for death themed runs, thanks for another fun one mate
I love listening to Jespar Dal'Varek speak to me about his challenge runs in Dark Souls.
Enderal challenge run next pls
The backstab reference spun me, i thought everyone had forgot that video
Lord Lemon has returned to grace us with content! Praise be! 🎉🎊
