Thanks for crunching all the numbers. Would your recommendations change significantly if you filtered your data for slower swing speeds only? For example your top distance drivers seem to be low spin models which I assume maybe weren't the best for
The driver I am most likely to purchase is the Stealth 2 Plus. Hit it the other day and loved it. I am 69 yrs. old with about 95 mph swing speed and an 8 handicap. Your driver comparison was awesome and validated my choice. Thank you.
great to hear... i am trying to decide between the Stealth 2 plus and the Stealth 2 standard.....I'm 58 with a 90-95 mph swing speed... a 8 handicap also....but was told a stealth plus might be better for swing speeds of 105 mph or more.....so your very happy with your choice ? good distance and forgiving ? now i am pondering the plus....lol.....cheers from Canada
Funny, I went for a fitting this morning not knowing what or if i'd buy a new driver but after testing the Titleist TSR2, Callaway Paradym Ping G430 LST and the Cobra Aerojet LS all at 9 degrees , I bought the Cobra because it was clearly better than the others . Then I get home and see this video and happy to see these results and that I made the right decision
Just got the ping g430 lst, got fitted and everything. Was the best for me and my swing. While these are good numbers still go in and get fitted don’t just buy a club based on this.
I still game my Cobra F9 and still outdrive guys with callaway paradym taylormade 😂.. I got fitted with the great shaft. I won't trade my driver yet as it still outdrive the latest driver and it not broken yet 😂
Very well done! One of the best product videos I’ve seen non biased. I subscribed because this video was really informative. Thanks you saved me $600 too😂
I like the adjustability of the Stealth 2 Plus with the movable weight in the bottom of the club. for my less than 100 or 105 swing speed I think I will look at a slightly softer shaft, as I am right on the reg./stiff line. I will figure it out at my next fitting in a couple of weeks. They may recommend the standard Stealth, but can't wait for the fitting at Club Champion later this month!
I know we are mostly amateurs but it’s interesting that the taylormade pros ditched the stealth 2 for previous versions (Rory and morikawa). But then sheffler wins with it. Amazing
i currently play the M5 , previously the M1 .. have been leaning towards the paradym this year . .. i was going to test them anyways ... but may be leaning to the stealth 2 plus now .. hmmm . well hell . lol . thanks for the info
Keep in mind in most cases for a low handicap player, you're talking less than 2 or 3 yards total in distance with the top five drivers. Accuracy might be a better measuring stick!
I purchased the PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 and it has added about 15 yds and improved my accuracy by about ~5% (fairways hit according to The Grint app). The biggest difference in my opinion was that it was the first new driver I purchased and had it fitted. As of today, I'm a 8.8 hcp who plays once a week.
Stealth 2 plus got SUPER spinny for me, I bought into the normal Stealth last year and it was super spinny and unforgiving on mishits. I guess the new guys are a little better but the new Ping G430 LST was a winner for me, kept spin down and SUPER forgiving on mishits. I will say this my clubhead speed was much faster with Stealth and when i DID get it out of the center of the club MY GOD! what a monster it was so hot off the face. In the end though I will sacrifice a few monster drives for a LOT more FIRs.
Great review can’t wait for the irons! Tested the G430, will be testing the Callaway and Taylormade range so hope by June to make a decision. Here in the UK brands such as Cobra, Wilson, Srixon, Cleveland and even Mizuno not so many stockists and places to test them, a great shame so the big four dominate.
For slower swing players, it has been suggested that we need more high launch/spin to prevent drives or other shots from falling out of the sky (Ballnamic suggested I try the Bridgestone BX and Pro V1x). How does that work with drivers-- i.e, does this mean LS models won't score high for slow swingers (unless you play concrete fairways)?
You absolutely don't want to play a LS driver as someone with slow swing speed. You want to play a full sized 460 cc driver with the weight in the back, not in the front.
Surprised at the low overall score on the Paradym. Just about every other review I've seen gave it a great overall score, minus the price. Wonder if price affected reviewers bias.
G425 max might be the goat driver. Easily keeping up with drivers twice the price and 2 years newer tech. Straightest driver of all time. Best fairway finder going
I'm rockin the 2022 Stealth plus, no need to upgrade, but the Ping 425 max may find away to my house, if the price is right. BTW, I tell everyone I know that golfs to watch your content.
I own tsr3. I also own stealth, and cobra ltdx LS. I’m out of the driver market. If I did, I would just swap out last years stealth for this years. If last years was forgiving, I would never have gotten any other new drivers
I got the cobra ltdx ls last yr….custom shaft and it was over $100 cheaper than TM, Callaway Titleist, etc… and it easily added 20yds to my game, helped to knock off 4 strokes at least, and helped me to score my first 4 sub par rounds… 2 70’s and a 69 and 68. Easily the best driver for the money…Aerojet will be the same though I won’t buy it cuz my ltdx ls is sill only 1yr old….and I bought a 2nd one cuz it was so damn awesome just in case something happened to my first one
I tested drivers earlier this year and the taylormade did not perform as well as some of the others. I tested the Aerojet, stealth 2 plus , callaway triple diamond . titleist tsr 3 , and ping g430 . I went with the triple diamond .
Same results here. The stealth 2 was terrible compared to my testing of paradym, TSR2 and Ping. I Ended up getting the base paradym model. These guys were obviously paid by Taylormade to advertise their “Fargiveness” bs 😂
The ZX5 LS is my favorite so far this year. I hit the ball high with a lot of spin and that thing she's what it says it'll do and it's 50 to 100 dollars less than most of the competition.
was every driver adjusted to fit every tester each time? or were they neutral settings across the board for comparison purposes? I can see the benefits of both, with the former determining that the “longest” driver really means the one that can be best tuned to meet the needs of the widest range of golfers, while the latter suggests an apples to apples comparison. my guess is that each driver was tuned to each tester given the more adjustable models (eg stealth+ and tsr3) beat out the less adjustable models (stealth and tsr2) but was curious as to what actually happened. great test in any event!
Question, at 5:31 is #10 a typo? I’d assume that’s supposed to be the Ping G430 LST instead… since the Ping G430 SFT was supposed to be in last place at #30 on the distance ranking.

Is the TSR3 for low handicap players? If the TSR2 is in the same family why did it score lower? I believe that model is targeted for high handicap players.
Just for argument's sake: When these thin-face titanium drivers get some use, don't they become a bit more "springy", meaning their distance actually goes up slightly the more they're used? And if that's the case, and you have a 3-5 year old driver that isn't broken, it may very well be longer than the brand new stuff today (of course it could break at any time, too).
Interesting, I use a Mizuno 230z. In my hands it’s the longest and most accurate driver that I have ever used. It’s funny how statistics works. I must be quite an outlier.
I’m playing the Nardo Grey 2018 cobra F8 plus (440 cc head with low spin weight 12g in front) … with it being more than five years old now I’m wondering if I will see significant gains in distance. My average is around 248 and my longest I’ve ever hit it is 281 with rollout. Is it worth the potential gains?

I was looking at the comments for exactly that! SFT twice is really confusing.
I was fitted yesterday, ended up with the tsr3, felt so solid, great ball flight and very forgiving.

I think it's all about how it looks at address because Stealth 2 is objectively more forgiving and Rory is #1 in driving distance this year.
Low spin drivers usually are for low handicap golfers. That applies to about 15% of the clients

That is a very good question. I would assume that they fitted them with the best stock options for that particular driver.
