Love Koga here! Number 5 and a school teacher, as you said not a full time athlete but to go deep into golden score with hashimoto and put that pressure on, dot know about you mate but i would love to see more of koga on the tour! He could do some damage!
Glad for Hashimoto, he is one of my favorite judokas, especially with this firm sode throw. I respect that he almost went blind, overcome it and won the grand slam certainly as a mature athlete.
Lesson: we'd like to see two athletes per category and nation at the Olympics. (If you like Japanese Judo...). Of course, expensive, crowded. But, how many medals can one sole swimmer win... A lot! Love the teacher with his worn black belt. His students are certainly respectful.
Japanese teachers seem to be something else lol. Let's not forget that it was also a Japanese teacher who won the Boston Marathon a few years back as well
I dont understand how you can defend hashimoto for winning almost every match by shido, and then make an entire video discrediting Abe for having an "anti judo style" or whatevervyou called it when he defeated Maruyama. Its ok to have favourites but atleast judge everyone by the same standard
Hashimoto is definitely not one of my favorites, but it's a good point. I guess I just love Maruyama so much that I'll find anything to criticize Abe lol
At the end of the day this is judo it doesn’t matter how you win as long as you do win nothing wrong about that and nothing wrong with preferring one style over the other
@@JudoHighlights2015 I think judo is still evolving towards the big thowing techniques. No points for koka/yuko. No leg-grab. Faster shidos. They still have the skill to win with just a glance at the scorebord/time left.
Guys, you have to give Hashimoto some credit for his grit. The guy is living in the shadow of Ono and An for a number of years but he shows up. So don't hate him for working hard, he's an amazing judoka. Don't throw any shade on this guy he deserves some respect, he could kick any one of our asses. ✌
Kind of crazy that these outside the arm Seoi Nage throws aren't forbidden. Seems very dangerous, especially considering the speed at which he does them.
He needs to medal at Worlds in May to solidify his spot IMO. Ono probably won't be there and if he does he could potentially be #1 on the IJF tour ranking list at -73 and no one will be able to say anything then. He was #3 before this tournament....
Hashimoto is a brilliant Judoka.. but Hashimoto will have hard time taking Ono down. Ono will win. Don’t get me wrong, I love Hashimoto. In fact I love all the Japanese men judo team. They’re all unique. Even their coaches are champions
Man, I really dislike "shido judo". I know you can win with it, and I admit to having had to employ similar tactics in the past, but it really IS negative judo. I also think at least a couple of Hashimoto's sode attacks could have been penalized as illegal.
Hashimoto really loose against Umayev, third shido was two times with false attack. People who understand judo know it for sure...what do you think people???
Hashimoto is effective but this is really not beautiful judo. His kumi-kata is where he gains the edge, as his grip technique is very unusual and frustrating for the opponent. I also do not like that fact that his one-handed throws seem to hurt his opponents as it makes them land awkwardly.
@Judo Highlights Man, I told you bevor that nothing will happen. Ono is on an absolutely other level. He will fight in Paris and he will win number three. Hashimoto did well and I respect him, but he is not on Onos, Abes or Maruyamas level.
even though I don't really like the Japanese players 5:32 was a nice ass throw fr. HOWEVER, Hashimoto got away with so much shit and the IJF doesn't even try to hide the fact that they are so biased towards the Japanese but it is what it is 🤷♂

mad respect for Koga, not even being a full time athlete and then performing this well !
His style is a GRIND! He just wears you down!!
I think koga is not just a normal teacher, he's a son of legend Koga and older brother of -60 Koga!
Glad for Hashimoto, he is one of my favorite judokas, especially with this firm sode throw. I respect that he almost went blind, overcome it and won the grand slam certainly as a mature athlete.
Why he almost went blind?

Hashimoto I feel has done enough to be in the conversation for selection in the next Olympics
Hashimoto is very good, I believe he is to good to rely on the shido game and the one handed sode.
Japanese teachers seem to be something else lol. Let's not forget that it was also a Japanese teacher who won the Boston Marathon a few years back as well
Hashimoto 👍🏼💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Great stuff bro
Весёлый, позитивный парень

@@user-uj6nj4vs6m nah, we need as many ippons as possible to make sure judo remains popular

His judo reptesent his personality.

Ono will win.

He just doesn't look like he wants to throw people and is happy to just win by shido
Where to watch tokyo grandslam live?

This being said, I really enjoy your content and commentaries.
Koga Hayato is the son of Toshihiko Koga?
Yes
Thanks. Both his sons are good. May he rip.
Did he score with tai otoshi at the end?
looks like makikomi
yep, a grip switch into tai otoshi
Essa arbitragem de vez em quando se complica sozinha marcando pontuações inexistentes.

1. I think Koga will overtake Hashimoto in the end. 2. You can't compare Hashimoto to Shoei Ono. Ono is much too stylish and fluent.
Dull. Ono.
About Ono, he has never lost to Hashimoto. I doubt very much that he was scared by the participation of anyone in particular.
He has lost once in 2015.
Their record is 2:1 in favour of Ono.
ReyMysterio as always with the save!
That wasn’t a decent throw bro
One nice ippon, but all shido game and bad attitude for the rest. Self-refereeing all the time. I don't like it.
