1280 x 1024 is the claim. It's BS all done with smoke and mirrors. The photo taken definitely doesn't start out at that resolution it has to be sub 640 x 480. The colours are a mess and it's just garbage. You'd be better off buying a used 2 or 3mp camera from Ebay and be guaranteed something worthwhile to look at.. I've written to the Chinese / Australian I got one from and I've yet to hear from them. Don't waste your time or your money.
Please don't bother. The picture quality is miles from HD, it's atrocious. Colour is all over the place with horrible tinting to white backgrounds. The resolution is far lower than 640 x 480 in fact it couldn't really be called a resolution, more like a jumbled mess. Typical Chinese way of trying to fool people, they simply increase resolution electronically. Start off with 1 Mb and keep multplying it until it reached the desire number. It's not even suitable for very small children. Don't have your children crying on Christmas day when you can't get a decent picture. I'm just happy I checked it first before giving it to a little one. You'll be literally throwing your money away and it's no good asking for a refund, because you have to return the garbage first (sorry, I couldn't bring myself to call it a camera) And whilst I'm here, don't expect too much from those cheap No Name cameras currently selling on Ebay, again nowhere near specifications. Stick to the name brands, Olympus, Nikon. Sony etc.
It's nice for people who need a "vintage" photo whitout buy a old camera. And, sure, cheap, small and light.
