Don't be upset, in over 57 years of hunting I've enjoyed tag soup several times. It's not always about taking wildlife, it's the joy of being out in Gods great creation. I just wrapped up my second straight year without a buck. Maybe muzzle loader season will be kind to me, but if not, I'll enjoy nature at it's finest.

Man, it absolutely SUCKS to lose one! But, that's deer hunting. As my late Mom used to say, "Shit happens." It's happened to me a few times in my 40 + years of deer hunting. It always leaves you with a sick feeling in your gut. You're always left with questions in your mind, and very few answers.

Sorry you didn't fill your tag this year, but very happy to see the effort you all put into trying to find your brother's buck. It has been a tough deer season for a lot of my deer hunting friends, some not even seeing a deer for the whole season.

Send bro to the range for practice! No excuses! Do not minimize poor shot placement by saying someone saw the deer a couple days later, as if his poor woodsman skills is somehow acceptable.
I tagged out in Kentucky on my farm, and hunted hard the whole three weeks, in the last 35 minutes of leagal shooting light. So yes I agree anything can happen.
Didn't go this year because my health high blood pressure i know getting outdoors helps in some ways but maybe next year iv ben pushing my self to go because Sunday last day here In wv want to go so bad but something telling you not go i like to hunt put meat in freezer 😊😟

That's the way season goes after 50 years of hunting I have had years where it didn't go the way I hoped. This year so far has been one of them I still have late muzzleloading season and our 3 day Christmas hunt maybe it'll turn around. But I won't give up and I am sure you won't either have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the Freeman family here in Arkansas

Sorry you didn't get a deer this year. And sorry you didn't find your brother's deer. Our hearts sank when we saw you all start going up hill. My husband saw you and your adorable kids in Wal Mart this afternoon at the registers but he didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. He said you smiled at him...shows that you truly are as nice as you appear to be. Now onto ice fishing soon if we can get the ice to stay!

I enjoy your videos. Watching you folks trying to track that deer in the dark, leads me to offer an unsolicited suggestion: If you're not already aware of it, using a light with a blue filter on the lens will significantly improve your ability to spot the blood drops and blood trails. I don't know the science, but the blue light highlights the blood and makes it starkly apparent against the background. It doesn't matter if it's a flashlight, or a headlamp, or whatever kind of light, just so long as it has a blue filter. Amazon, and many other internet websites sell tons of different outdoors lights that have blue filters. You might want to give it a try. All the best, John

You did all you could to try to recover buck. Based on amount of blood and distance deer traveled doubt shot was fatal. Would you hunt doe or do you limit your hunting to bucks only. Do you have any antler restrictions as we have in Pa? Better luck next year. Not easy to hunt in cold weather.
Yes, the antlers have to be at least 3". I might try putting in for a doe tag next year. They don't give out many where I am.
Tag out? I got a broken rack 3 pointer (thought it was a doe) during the rifle season. I still have 4 tags left! I'm gonna hunt late archery with my crossbow. I've never got a deer with my crossbow. It's on my bucket list! And it's buck or doe with archery equipment. I'd like a nice, fat doe to added to the tally! Does eat better. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

I don't have a muzzleloader that fits me. My husband has one but it's not comfortable, it feels way too long. I'm 5'1, 120lbs so normal guns usually feel too long for me lol.
