Love the evening calm and the sounds of the birds in the background . Where I'm from I like listening to the turkeys going to roost . Glad your camera came on .
Had same issue with a road of ours leading into property. 2 years later after building river entry and cleaning up. around loam pit...cutting, mowing, then getting all the burnt tires out of the pond, replacing the firewood, cleaning up garbage i forced to close the campsite and trziler the dozer back home Ya just cant build amymore.
Sorry about your camera. I had a Sony a7 on a tripod and knocked it over into a lake here in Michigan. Just switched to a go pro and my iPhone 14. With the camera and lens I lost it was too much to replace. Great videos. Just found your channel. I’m from Michigan but love Maine. Used to go every year camping there but haven’t been there in several years now. Thanks for bringing some of it to me here.
Sure is peaceful there, Good luck with the camera. I know folks use a bag of uncooked rice to draw moisture out of cell phones that get wet, ( just put it in a gallon zip lock back with the rice) Maybe that would work for your camera. Sending blessings from NC ,
A buddy and I were just up in your neck of the woods this past Thursday/Friday , enjoying the heat , lol..... took a Harley trip (a mind "reset") from central NH up to Presque isle and back (770 + miles) ... Not quite the same as what your doing , but a needed "getaway" just the same .... Sometimes you just need to get away!!! Backroads of America kinda thing ....
I’m thankful your camera turned on. I hope it works good. Awesome video. The lake sure is beautiful. And the loons sounded awesome. Glad you dropped this video. !!
I’m glad you finally had the time to get out and just kinda unplug and get away from it all for awhile. That’s a very important thing to do. Even when things don’t go as planned it usually still turns out for the better. Keep up the good work.
Hey Maine Girl, j stroking with a bent shaft paddle is very difficult. That stroke is better accomplished with a straight 'Indian' style paddle. The bent shaft is for efficient forward paddle strokes, like racing. With a bent shaft you have to keep switching sides to go straight, forget the j stroke with that style. Have fun out there!
We went to that same side of West Musquash on Memorial Day and had an awesome picnic and lazy afternoon. We also had it all to ourselves. Definitely worth that horrible road down to it! It's beautiful! Glad you got a quiet afternoon to yourself.
Wow ! Thanks for sharing g the day. Your dog will get better . Try putting some little three inch duck tape straps hanging off the bottom of each blade And coating each blade with liquid car wax.
Hot here in Catskills to. Boy it’s beautiful in Maine that lake looks so refreshing. I hope the camera is ok. Love ❤ the videos! Be good God Bless… P.S. whisky is so good and getting big!
I think the camera is going to be ok, thankfully! Glad you enjoyed the video! Whiskey is growing too fast, just like the kids. I miss the tiny kiddos and the tiny pup! But thankful that they are healthy and growing. God bless!
That's awful. I hope you're doing ok. I find going for walks (in the woods if possible), taking vitamin D3 and cleaning something up that I've been putting off for a while helps.
The wonderful rollercoaster of life. Sounds Like Murphey is keeping a good eye on you. Him and his crazy laws that is. On a better note, I see you had the Mountain House meal. Have you had other brands as well? I remember a video you had back a bit when you and the kids tried a different brand and were not too impressed with it. I want to start stockpiling some meals at camp and was wondering in your opinion what brands of those meals you have tried which ones were the best to you? It sure was a beautiful canoe ride. Whisky is doing so well. Samantha would surely have had us in the drink pretty quickly LOL. Keep them coming. God Bless!
Some days it seems like Murphey is working overtime, lol! But that's the way it goes sometimes. I think the camera will be ok, looks promising anyway. The only other meal brand I remember trying is the knock off MREs. I do NOT recommend those, LOL. Not if you want them hot anyway. They didn't come with any kink of beverage mix, and out of a case of 12, we've tried 10 so far and NONE of the heaters worked. I like the mountain house. That is the first time I ever had an issue with them. I've been thinking of trying a couple other brands. I'll be sure to let you know when I do! It was a beautiful day to paddle the lake, that's for sure. Samantha is a good pup, she is so sweet! God bless and take care!
I lOVE it! It is perfect for what I do. I like to paddle around lakes mostly, no rapids, lol. I wouldn't take it on, say, the Allagash, simply because it is kevlar hybrid, so it's just not as tough as royalex canoes. But it is beautiful, lightweight and I can handle it by myself. (I'm 5'1" 115lbs for reference). Glides right through the water like butter. Better, in my opinion, than a kayak cause I can fit more gear for overnight trips,, etc. And room enough for my dog to be comfortable too. So if you are not into rough rivers/riding rapids, I absolutely recommend it. 10/10. ❤️
@@MaineGirlOutdoors thanks for your reply! I do have a royalex canoe, which someday I would love to take on the Allagash, but for quick trips to get out on the water for a few hours it is prohibitively heavy to handle solo. Paddling it is awesome, but loading/unloading it from the truck, portaging it, it’s a lot. I really want a second canoe for all the reasons that you mentioned that make you love your Ranger. You’re the first person on UA-cam (that I’ve seen anyway) to have a Ranger and I appreciate your sharing your experience and thoughts about it!
A good word for the Shep... Nein! Halt! Nein! I lived in Germany for 2 years. Wish I could go back there every summer. I live in central NC now. You think it's hot there?? I sweat buckets just going out to pick tomatoes!
I got enough to make spaghetti sauce and hot sauce with the jalapenos. I busted a** last year and the year before. I have plenty of canned tomatoes and green beans. I slacked off this year because I'm not gettin' any younger and I want to still ENJOY gardening. @@MaineGirlOutdoors
Some days you just gotta embrace more suck than other days. The guy from It’s Good in the Woods (from New Hampshire) turned me on to that Buffalo Mac n cheese a little while back. It’s tastier than I thought it would be. 👍🏻
Shame about the camera - if it ends up dead and not working and you need (and will accept) help replacing it - please reach out! Thanks for sharing - this has definitely been me more than once (especially with electronics and carelessness) - but still seemed like a nice peaceful trip.
You have replaced Stephen King as my favorite Maineeyak! You bravely posted your video, mistakes and all. Now you need to do 2 things, IMHO. 1. Make a checklist of the equipment you needed for this trip. 2. Repeat the trip in similar weather so we all can see the "right" way to do it.❤
Loons on the lake.. One sound that never gets old.. Do you guys have an easy way for someone to support your channel and send a donation?I realize the equipment costs and the time and effort that goes into this even if your doing something you love while filming… Let me know..
Loons are awesome! When the boys were little they called them "ghost ducks" LOL. I do not have a Patreon or anything like that. Just watching and "liking" the videos helps. I appreciate the thought though, that is kind of you. I think the camera is going to be ok. It's still sitting in rice but looks promising, fingers crossed. Thanks for watching!
almost 90 in Vermont today..Can't wait for fall weather,,,,Hope your camera works.Just curious how much does something like that cost?Always enjoy your videos.Nature is medicine for the soul.
Ps I would like to see them out there who say thay know what there doing and never done anything like it I would love to see there professional bloops and blundered. That the know it all never been out doors like this before city young people😅😂😮
Love the sounds of the Loones miss them.
Even when there is a not so good day there’s always something good like being on that lake and hearing mother nature’s sounds keep your head up high
Nothin says pieceful like loons calling in the evening for sure.
Your outdoor adventures will have good times and tuff times . Your dog is awsome !
Thank you❤
Things don't always turn out the way we want it to but we have to adapt adjust and do with what we have and make the best out of it😊❤😅

I went to a long kayak paddle with my new 11 9 Old Towne and single blade is wow included onboard for emergency only use!

Great idea! I love the canoe! I only regret that I don't get out with it more, LOL. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it!
Oh the best laid plans can go awry ! It just makes the plans that do go well even better!

Hope you've had many good days since this one!
Nice video . Good luck with the camera
Great video
If it wasn’t for bad luck some of us wouldn’t have no luck

💯 👍🏻 She’s a tough cookie
Fun camping vid 😊
. Something about an acent like yours. Wow.
Wonderful…wish I’d stayed a Maine girl!
I love Maine.❤
