Happy 20th Anniversary, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (October 18, 1994 - October 18, 2014). Despite the minor flaws, it still remains in the #1 spot on my personal list of the greatest Sonic the Hedgehog games ever. I also consider it to be one of the best video games ever created in the 1990s decade.
I love how the Act 2 stages always sound a little more serious, a little more dangerous to match the more dangerous landscape of second act of each zone.

You don't have to explain yourself man. I used to play SNES but our family never really bought new games for the system. Metroid Fusion was the only game I played from the franchise and I totally loved it. It was very creepy and immersive.
Super Metroid is, in my opinion, the ultimate run N gun platforming game, which also happens to have a flurry of weapons and upgrades, collectable items, secret paths, bosses, awesome moody music and well made levels. It's a SNES game and is available to download on the virtual console. It is 2-d metroid at its best and is perhaps the best 2d game ever. I highly recommend it, not that I don't like sonic and all, they are both lots of fun.
I never said I stopped liking him but face it, the franchise is sinking fast. Sonic went from a Sega mascot to Nintendo mascot just after a few 3D releases. I wont say much more but c'mon, Sonic team needs to make a "good" 3D game.
