Needed to have a AC Blower regulator changed for a '13 ML350 4MATIC. AC works, just no fan. Took the part out..fan and regulator...and asked the parts department for a replacement cost. $500!!!! When I asked for just the regulator they told me they don't sell just the regulator, just the entire unit. Then it would have been $200 to install! Really??? $700 plus tax to get this done? I don't think so. It was 6 screws to remove the under-dash panel and unit. I got the replacement OEM regulator (Valero makes them) from an Ebay store. $88 brand new with warranty. 6 screws reinserted later and the AC blower is working like a champ! THANKS!
Thanks so much for this video. Took me exactly 30 minutes start to end. To save time on back screws use T20 bit ($3 at Home Depot) and a small socket wrench.
My friend, thanks for the video. I wonder how water can get to this motor? On my car, water gets near the motor and gets wet, which is why it shuts off periodically. Please tell me where to start to solve the problem?
@@davidschorlemer9596 I have cleaned the four main drains and water is coming out fine.. I wonder where the air is supplied to this engine, is there a fifth drain? How can I check? Is there a video of this somewhere?
Thanks for the video but my car problem is air separator is not working i mean when i switch on the ac the air blows on my foot only, i changed airflow direction but it wont work kindly advice how to fix this issue.
the metal box is a resistor called(A32n1 blower motor resistor) usually you swap it when you get a air conditioning dtc code (code 951A-blower regulator overload shutdown- current and stored).
i took 3 screws from the cover, also 4 more from the heater blower, but only one side was coming off, the back side seems is holding on something, are there only 4 screws, is there trick way of removing the blower, like sliding out etc?

Hi Robert, How did you know that it was the regulator and not the blower that was bad? Any way to test it?
Did you take the resistor off the old one and install it on the new one?
I can’t remember if it came with one or I replaced from old motor.

You might have a plugged drain hose? Or hood grill letting water come in?
@@davidschorlemer9596 Maybe. But how can this be verified? Is there a diagram that will tell me where to look for the drain?

@@davidschorlemer9596 thank you
Does this fan control the heat blower too?
Plattinumstatus I don’t know the answer to that question. Good luck
Yes, it does.
Just had mine changed and now they say I need a regulator. When I turn on the air the speed will not change. While driving cuts on and off

My car just started doing that, it'll work sometimes and sometime it don't

Thanks for helpful video. Keep up.

Mines would not turn on when I put in a new one

Its 5 screws holding the blower 2 closer to the center console and 3 closer to passenger wall and it just drops out
Another trick once you remove the blower. Spray the connectors with electric cleaner. It's worth the 8 dollars once that blower starts
