Thomas & Thomas Exocett SS Fly Rod Review

- The highly versatile Exocett SS rods are designed to counter the inherent challenges of casting sinking lines or ultra-compact floating lines. Powerful rod tips help to easily pull sinking lines to the surface, while the steep multi-modulus blanks dampen excess shock associated with heavy lines or weighted flies, generating distance and accuracy with fewer false casts.

Love it….best grains window recommendations for the 12-2 10-4 please ? Thank you !
WOW, good reviews, What do you think about the advantages and disadvantages, between the two guides offered by T & T, Ceramic Titanium Frame VS RECoil guide. In especial to capture bonefish and permi.
I’m interested in this rod and would love to here from people that own it and what else they owned to compare to?
I have the SS 250. It is a brilliant rod for fishing intermediate and sinking lines. Good strong tip for lifting but lots of feel and a low swing weight. I love bombing this thing with the Rio Intermediate striper line in an 8wt. I've never cast a rod that quite matches this one, so it's hard to make a comparison, and I've tried a bunch (Loomis, Sage, etc.). I think this is my favorite all-around saltwater rod if you aren't fishing for spooky bonefish. I use it inshore in Florida for redfish and speckled trout, and up in Massachusetts for schoolie stripers. Love it.
High end T&T with gap under the snake guide wrap????
Thats because its not loaded with masses of goopy epoxy.
How does this rod matchup to the Payload
This rod is lighter, more responsive, and designed with top-notch componentry. The Payload is in a different price class so it's heavier, a little more clunky, and isn't finished as nicely as the Exocett SS. That being said, they're both solid rods for heavy lines, large flies, and lifting big fish.
