Thanks Lubin. What a brutally honest video, just shows not every day on the river is warm and sunny and not every cast equals a fish. Would we have it any other way? Nah. That's why we fish. Well done, Loved the video.
Thanks so much for a great video. Extremely generous of you to have such a long video with great information in it, it's not just the time on the water that you have given up its also time editing as well. I hope I can remember half of the wisdom that you dropped in the video. Plus it's also great to see a world class fisherman go a day without snagging one, makes us mere mortals feel a little better. Haha. Keep them coming I will keep watching them for sure.
Love the vid Lubin. I grew up fishing the SA reaches of the Murray as a kid before moving to Qld. Back then it was all bait for Carp and Callop with not a Cod in site. Now i fish for Bass and Barra in the lakes up here but I soooooooo miss the Murray .......... it is such a special place
Yes mate I remember those days growing up when everyone would say there is no cod in the Murray but they've always been there. No other fishery like it in the world. Thanks for watching
wow that 1mrr was beautiful just love how u don't try to lift them out of the water, the river looks amazing a hard fishing but that's fishing great video
And again, just informative. Also a little bit validation in regards to casting for week and only managing a few fish. I question my sanity and life choices after about 6 hours and wonder what I’m doing wrong.. love it luben 👌
As a lure casting jew fisho this gives me a massive appreciation for you big lure casting cod fishos, I thought we were a mad bunch doing our thing with so many casts and fishless nights but you're just our daytime brothers
Back at you man, I admire you guys and the effort you put in. Cod fishing can definitely be a grind we’re just lucky we get to do it during the daytime 😅
Finished watching the whole video Mate. You work really hard. Your energy never runs empty. I watched your Cod fishing talks, listened a podcast where you were a guest talking about Cod fishing. You are the CODGUY for me. Keep it up mate
Just got home from an 8 hour casting session, not a bump! , lite the fire in the shed, cracked a can watched your whole Cod Vlog from start to finish, Loved it :) ....... I'm now in the mood to do it all again tomorrow.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Inspiring viewing. Did I say thanks? Caught you on Cod Almighty, following my first cod encounter. Been getting educated since thanks to your relentless efforts. I don't envy many or much, but I do like your tinny, makes my canoe blush.
Loved the video and appreciate you emparting your knowledge with us. Still waiting for my first Cod but now i have just bought a boat hopefully it wont be to far around the corner.
Corellas and Cockatoo screaming chorus very synonymous with cod fishing down south... I always went with the theory if I can see my outboard prop then the cod can see my lures...What hard bodies and twinspin are you throwing Lubin??? I miss the whole adventure down that way very inspiring...kudos to you mate regards B.J.
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 thankyou for replying to me Lubin... I was just curious to the brandnamed products you use for example the twinspin is it a TT lure or a Bassman??? and hard bodies are you using a plethora of hard bodies or are you restricted to just the one brand??? Depth wise you seem to have all the Angles covered...My interest stems from being a "tackle rat" in regards to gear in possession and used...Also since your so handy with a fly tying vice I thought you may have joined my train of thought and created some custom tackle of your own... for example a giant fly of some construction like marabou or bucktail tied up on a conventional jig for Cod or callop??? A giant woolly bugger or something that may fit the description....regards B.J.
I love your dedication bro! Thats what is about when you want to target specific fish. The cod are such a treasure and such a special fish to catch and i know they don't come easy. I've caught a few in my local yarra River. Always release them . To special to kill. I've seen some of your fly fishing stuff in magazines I've bought in the past. Have you had a crack at th cod on fly? Anyways, much respect and admiration to the way you fish and conduct yourself as a bloke that cares about the future of fishing and the environment that productive fishing relies upon. Onya mate.
Thanks for watching! I've done plenty of cod on fly in smaller rivers but usually just use conventional tackle in the big river. Thanks heaps for such kind words mate.
Love your passion for these fish was a great vid love that l can hear nature instead of thumping music dont know too many fishos that take a boom box with them mayb lm just an old bloke
Thanks very much Robert. Nature is a huge part of why I love the river, we are incredibly lucky to have so much of it. Great to hear you enjoyed the vlog.
Hi Kevin, I like waterproof snow gloves for cold weather cod fishing. There’s a few different ones around, just get a pair that you can cast with as they can make it difficult.
Thanks for watching mate. It’s anyone’s guess when they change the flows in the river unfortunately, I’m yet to find a pattern. Last year it was cranking by July and this year was different. I just keep an eye on the MDBA website everyday of the season
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 Well done for using nylon. Flurocarbon has huge issues with knot durability. In a casting situation situation like that where your knot is going in and out ,hitting your guides all the time, its particularly suspect. Best to refer to nylon, and not call it monofilament, because flurocarbon is monofilament as well. The yanks started mis naming it like this so you're not to blame. Jeez that stretch of the Murray looks awesome. My other hobby is wildlife photography so I could really lose myself down there. Thanks for the reply.
When you’re so keen for the cod vlog 2024 you go back and watch all ones from the last few years. Sorted for the night 🎣
That last sunrise wow , icing on the cake. What a great trip thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for watching mate! And yes sometimes the fish is really just a bonus 👍🏻🎣
Thanks Lubin. What a brutally honest video, just shows not every day on the river is warm and sunny and not every cast equals a fish. Would we have it any other way? Nah. That's why we fish. Well done, Loved the video.

@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 just wondering do you use barbless hooks ??
Hi Lubin , what type of gloves or even brand would you suggest that I get for casting in the cold weather ?

Kevin
Hi Kevin, I like waterproof snow gloves for cold weather cod fishing. There’s a few different ones around, just get a pair that you can cast with as they can make it difficult.
What sort of line do you use? Great 🎞 so far!
50lb Platypus Super Braid
Love your vids, what pound braid and leader do you use, me also what type of leader knot do you use?
Hi Lubin, I am heading to Morgan next week, do not know that area at all. Any tips apart from cast cast cast.
Great video thank you! When you say the flows have increased and “shows over” what time of year is that usually? Cheers.

Another great video. These are the best vid's going around in my opinion. Do you do much trolling for cod?
Many thanks mate. I used to do heaps and heaps of trolling but not anymore.
Hey mate great video are you using the 7'11 extra heavy swimbait rod? And what reel?
Thanks mate! If you check out the description theres links for all the gear used during the vid
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 cool cheers mate keep up the good work
Great type of video, longer the better. Will you be fishing for cod at any other locations this winter?
Thanks for watching mate. Yep, hopefully we'll get a bit more cod fishing in before the end of August.
Just found the channel and enjoy your vids. Regarding that mystery bust off at the leader knot you referred to, are you using flurocarbon?
Thanks for watching! Na not fluorocarbon that was while using monofilament

Do you prefer fishing parallel to the bank or mix it up mate?
Both!
Where abouts in the Murry river in South Australia are you catching the Murry cod an yellow bally
Mate you should do that but have bait on a well
I never fish bait for cod 🤷♂️ but thanks for watching 🤙
The Full Scale - Fishing Adventures that is good but we lived they for many years
🔥
What number lock did you catch them at
Lock one mate
They are butterfull fish
where on the murray is this?
In South Australia mate 🤙
What's the use of catch and release ? I mean you could at least keep one and eat it..
You can keep the golden perch which I do quite often but Murray cod cannot be removed from the water by law in SA
