As soon as I saw the name of that item drop - ZONAI CHARGE - I squealed! I've never even been the biggest Zonai fan and I can't wait for it in game.❤
Soldier constructs are hostile, while these ranger constructs appear passive
The minimap now has X Y AND Z coordinates on it
Rotation uses the directional buttons
The arrow swapping icon no longer appears, perhaps to focus on the fusing mechanic, no more elemental arrows as you can make them on the fly, makes room for more bows in the inventory too.
So far we see four abilities
- Recall
- Fuse
- Ultrahand (get it?)
- Ascend
R seems to be a secondary action button instead of always being throw weapon, perhaps you draw your weapon and then R allows you too throw it.

Oh, and the vials on links waist? I bet you they are batteries, get more to hold more charge while using vehicles
You can also see a battery icon on the minimap at the part where he makes the raft
i think the coordinates may be a debug thing more than anything
@Artemis no. The minimap shows batteries on it and the car link drives has one of those batteries on it.
The Z axis is to determine Link’s vertical distance, whether positive (in the sky) or negative (underground)
I picked up that the ultra hand was a nintendo toy, my dad still has an ultrahand from his childhood, it's really creaky when you extend it!

Looks like Naydra flying around in the back there, since Mount Lanayru is seen very close to where she is. Also looks like there’s one of those towers at the peak of the mountain.
The Fuse ability is good, but the ultrahand is my fave, you can build vehicles!!
Links fuse ability’s is broken but he can strait up telekinesis stuff now so it’s even more broken

11:33 he HAS a magic meter. It's on his hip, the bottles filled with green juice are his batteries for the Zonai technology.
I think the vials are related to how many things you can stick together so 8 maximum
Thus making the zonai energy the equivalent of magic jars from ALttP, OoT, MM, and WW

I’m almost 36 years old and never been this hyped for a video game before lol. This is so incredible, just imagine the bonkers things speedrunners are going to find and do with the fuse and building.
Edit: also love that every reaction video I’ve watched so far has had people lose it just over seeing the word “Zonai” show up lmao.

It’s feels like 2017 all over again. :] Everyone’s just so excited and that Nintendo switch Oled of Tears of the Kingdom looks gorgeous! But my hamster sized brain still cannot fathom how BIG this game is going to be.
I can't wait for the goofiest ever machines to be made for speedrunning that just make the physics engine freak out or something lmao
One thing I really like is that with the Zonai Charge being confirmed and me taking psychology, three main elements are interestingly associated with the three main Hylian sub-tribes, the three dragons, and of course the three main characters:
Sheikah/Zelda/Wisdom/Nayru/Naydra/Zoras: Association with water/ice which is further cemented by the ice dragon, and Sheikah power seems to be fluid or crystalizing, hence all the ties to watery stuff (the droplets of map distilation, the association with the color blue, the shower of particles when we teleport, the sheikah fire being a possibly water-feeding fire like greek/oil-based fires can be) This is further cemented with how important both Zelda and Mipha are to Link. There's also fluid and crystalized intelligence! There's also of course Zelda being notably linked to the Sheikah, and it be kinda cool if it got confirmed that Rhoam or Zelda's mom came from the Sheikah. BotW also could represent the "sea/main level" in classic Greco-roman/Buddhist cosmology. Maybe the focus on the sea of stars in Sheikah architecture/culture?
Zonai/Link/Courage/Farore/Rito?: Association with electricity/air, and with the Zonai power being a "charge" there being a "battery" aspect to it and so on, its undeniable. Plus with the Zonai side of Hyrule we saw in BotW there's a primalness to it. That there's a heart to their actions, a link to the animals and wilds of Hyrule. Much like how electricity can connect the earth to the heavens. Much like how electricity binds the spirit to the body if you will. Perhaps the Zonai were eventually conquered or by some unknown apocalypse were wiped from history. Such a discovery of it happening by the King/Elders of Hyrule 10,000 years ago led them to the ban on Sheikah tech after Calamity Canon was seemingly captured. TotK easily represents the Skies in classic Greco-roman/Buddhist cosmology.
Gerudo/Ganondorf/Power/Din/Gorons: Association with fire/earth/lava?, and likely will have something to do with proto-Gerudos. We don't know why Gerudos always just have females, and it might tie into some unspoken custom or unknown curse placed on them by say Din or Hylia. Perhaps in ancient times the Gerudo were like the other sub-tribes of Hyrule, but in a third game we come to find out Ganondorf's origins proper and why he exactly ended up underground. It might also be where there is/was an ancient civil war between the four most humanoid tribes, that in ancient times Hyrule was spilt into five distinct regions: Hylia/old Hyrule, Zonai Territory (Faron/ region), old Gerudo territory (Akkala or Eldin before the Gorons moved in), and Sheikah (Necluda or Lanaryu before the Zoras moved in). I could definetly see an ancient Zelda from the Sheikah, ancient Link from the Zonai, and ancient Ganondorf from the Gerudo being friends- but he was wrongfully imprisoned by the Zonai because they feared he would be possessed by a greater/more ancient evil (Demise). BUT by wrongfully imprisoning him or trying to they awaken the triforce of power in him and it leads to him becoming the very Demon King they feared. Hence the monsters, malice, etc. Also as we can tell from the underground scenes throughtout the trailers, plus the Gerudo as they are now, I can see a third game/triquel to BotW representing the Underground in classic Greco-roman/Buddhist cosmology.
I also want to call it now, there's four games in this Saga if you will, representing the goddesses and these four main tribes of Hyrule: Hylia and Hyleans for Skyward Sword, Nayru and Sheikah for BotW, Farore and Zonai for TotK, and Din and (proto?) Gerudo for say, the Heart of the Spirits/Time/Mirror? Now sounds like "what are you TALKING about" sure but hear me out. The spent six years on TotK and already had a lot of the basis for the coming out game on stuff they cut from BotW. What's not to say it happened again, they had so many ideas that they couldn't fit into this game that they decided that they'll take what they can't use, or since they're sorta setting up for this anyways, and make a third and final game in this trilogy? one they can use to help to launch a new version of the Switch in say two years while saying goodbye to the old one that greatly rejuvenated the franchise?
The last ones sound super generic, but I can see them exploring spirits/time/the past like they have with the other two games, but instead of the Sheikah and now the Zonai, its the Gerudo and how Calamity Ganon came to be. While I am not a big fan of how big the jumps in time are (10,000 years? really?) I like to think each game exploresevents from that far back.
Botw: Explores the Sheikah of 10,000 Years ago/present and the re-emergence of Calamity Ganon. Ganon (in both forms) are the big bad.
Totk: Explores the Zonai of 20,000 years ago/present and we meet a redead Ganondorf one way or another that tells us his bouts with the Zonai aren't still the beginning proper, we learn more about the Zonai with teases of how this Ganondorf came to be. Ganondorf (in both the dead and revived forms) are the big bad.
Heart of the Spirit: Explores the Gerudo of 30,000 years ago/present and we meet living Ganondorf via time travel, and find out about some ancient empire the Gerudo had. Their culture is more egyptian/mespotamian in a sense, in contrast to the indian/ancient japanese-esque culture of the Sheikah and mesoamerican/minoan-esque culture of the Zonai. We also fight Demise in a sorta revistation of Skyward Sword's story after he escaped the Master Sword and has been regaining his essence, and hopefully stop his cycle "forever." Thus Demist (in both his actual and hosted forms) are the big bad.
Breath, Tears, and Heart, Earth/Sea, the Skies above, the Depths below. Breath being brought back into Link and Hyrule, the Tears both shed for the tragedies of the past, and the Heart full of emotions and connections building towards a new tommorow.
Nice theory, but the Rito, are associated with ice and wind, since they live in the mountains, and the Gerudo are associated with electricity, not heat and fire.
ToTK was in delayed development because of COVID. Notwithstanding any other world stopping events, any sequel probably won’t take as long.

Since we kinda saw that the castle was rising in the trailers, maybe we need to build the car and flying machines in the trailers to get to the castle? They seem like they would maybe go higher and work better, and there's probably a bunch of malice around it too, which would make it harder for us to reach it at the start

That and there's nothing limiting him to only 6 abilities, he could honestly have any number of abilities in this game. Plus, we can assume that the sheikah slate will also make an appearance, considering we've seen official artwork of it.

This is probably the most hype for a new Zelda since Twilight Princess. This gameplay teaser was exactly what I needed. There are many things I'm excited for in Tears, but being able to FUSE formerly "useless" monster parts to enhance your weapons and shields will add a whole new dynamic to gameplay.
Also building things with Ultrahand is just going to be phenomenal for creativity. There are countless things that I can imagine creating and I can't wait to try them all!
So excited for this game. May 12 can't arrive soon enough!

Imagine the fuseabilities are fuseless
some thoughts:
Zonai = confirmed by an item that dropped after beating a construct. so the constructs were very likely designed by the zonai. but will we actually get to see an actual living zonai? well the constructs can be hostile but there were also some friendly looking npc constructs digging in the dirt(it looked like you can talk to them). and it made me think if the zonai used luminous stones(the only greenish glowing item in botw) and luminous stones contain the souls of the dead, are the constructs just the zonai since they are brought to life by dead soul energy? are these the only "zonai" we‘ll get to see? i think no. we could also see a shop symbol on the minimap at one point which might be from the actual human zonai and not the constructs. but even if not we also saw a "farmer’s pitchfork" which is interesting since what would a farmers pitchfork do up here without a farmer around?:)))
I want to go back to eventide and instead of orbs, have to find boat parts to escape.
I think the glyphs on the ground are tower replacements
Maybe the what we all thought were vials are actually batteries and as you collect more the length of the vehicles battery or the recall ability will increase
One of my favorite things to see in games are the glitches, I cant wait to see how people break the crafting system. So excited.
Did you notice how the map now features altitude? On the left is a range, which changes depending on Link’s location. On the right is Link’s actual altitude. Probably useful for skydiving? Also- the Constructs remind me of the SS robots!

I think the korok leaf on an arrow will give it the ability to blow wind as it travels to blow off enemies with wind just like the korok leaf used to produce wind.

What if the fuse feature is more than just a mechanic but also the way you're going to repair the mastersword.
Imagine using fuse on a sword and a bomb (if they have them) and it does explosive damage to the enemy and the player, then breaks the weapon.
Crafting eh? Okay I will start my blueprint for a giant bayblade of death like a spinning top spinning super fast with trees attached to it like a spinning blade.

BanditGames, I just had a thought ( and maybe something for a future video). Remember a couple trailers ago, we saw that giant green robot forming? What if the "constructs" have the ability to fuse? Eiji Aonuma himself said that the Constructs will eventually come at Link with fused weapons. What if they can fuse themselves together or have a "Fuser" type to put them together to fight Link. We saw Link fusing a boat together and Eiji Aonuma said the possibilities are endless. The giant green robot did look like he was being fused.If Link can do it,why not the enemies too. What do you think?

the sword icon would turn into a bow icon

The phrase "Zonai Charge" made me freak out in the most embarassing way. Its almost midnight and my neighbors will hate me now. But screw it!. It confirms or fuels so many theories I've seen in the last years and I can't wait for this games launch. Or to my birthday nine days later
